 6:1 ¶
And David again gathered together all the chosen men of Israel, thirty thousand. |
|
 6:1 ¶
Again,º
Davidº
gathered togetherºººººº
allº
[the] chosenºº
[men] of Israel,º
thirtyº
thousand.º |
 6:2
And David arose, and went with all the people that were with him, from Baale-judah, to bring up from thence the ark of God, which is called by the Name, even the name of Jehovah of hosts that sitteth [above] the cherubim. |
|
 6:2
And Davidº
arose,ºº
and wentººº
with allº
the peopleº
thatº
[were] withº
him from Baaleºº
of Judah,ºº
to bring upºº
from thenceººº
the arkº
of God,º
whoseº
nameº
is calledºº
by the nameº
of the LORDº
of hostsº
that dwellethººº
[between] the cherubims.º |
 6:3
And they set the ark of God upon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in the hill: and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drove the new cart. |
|
 6:3
And they setººº
the arkº
of Godº
uponº
a newº
cart,º
and broughtºº
it out of the houseºº
of Abinadabº
thatº
[was] in Gibeah:º
and Uzzahº
and Ahio,º
the sonsº
of Abinadab,º
draveººº
the newº
cart.º |
 6:4
And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was in the hill, with the ark of God: and Ahio went before the ark. |
|
 6:4
And they broughtºº
it out of the houseºº
of Abinadabº
whichº
[was] at Gibeah,º
accompanyingº
the arkº
of God:º
and Ahioº
wentºº
beforeº
the ark.º |
 6:5
And David and all the house of Israel played before Jehovah with all manner of [instruments made of] fir-wood, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with castanets, and with cymbals. |
|
 6:5
And Davidº
and allº
the houseº
of Israelº
playedºº
beforeº
the LORDº
on allº
manner of [instruments made of] firº
wood,º
even on harps,º
and on psalteries,º
and on timbrels,º
and on cornets,º
and on cymbals.º |
 6:6 ¶
And when they came to the threshing-floor of Nacon, Uzzah put forth [his hand] to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen stumbled. |
|
 6:6 ¶
And when they cameºº
toº
Nachon'sº
threshingfloor,º
Uzzahº
put forthºº
[his hand] toº
the arkº
of God,º
and took holdºº
of it; forº
the oxenº
shookºº
[it]. |
 6:7
And the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God. |
|
 6:7
And the angerº
of the LORDº
was kindledºº
against Uzzah;º
and Godº
smoteºº
him thereº
forº
[his] error;º
and thereº
he diedºº
byº
the arkº
of God.º |
 6:8
And David was displeased, because Jehovah had broken forth upon Uzzah; and he called that place Perez-uzzah, unto this day. |
|
 6:8
And Davidº
was displeased,ºº
becauseºº
the LORDº
had madeºº
a breachº
upon Uzzah:º
and he calledºº
the nameº
of theº
placeº
Perezuzzahº
toº
thisº
day.º |
 6:9
And David was afraid of Jehovah that day; and he said, How shall the ark of Jehovah come unto me? |
|
 6:9
And Davidº
was afraidºº
ofº
the LORDº
thatº
day,º
and said,ºº
Howº
shall the arkº
of the LORDº
comeºº
toº
me? |
 6:10
So David would not remove the ark of Jehovah unto him into the city of David; but David carried it aside into the house of Obed-edom the Gittite. |
|
 6:10
So Davidº
wouldºº
notº
removeººº
the arkº
of the LORDº
untoº
him intoº
the cityº
of David:º
but Davidº
carried it asideºº
into the houseº
of Obededomº
the Gittite.º |
 6:11
And the ark of Jehovah remained in the house of Obed-edom the Gittite three months: and Jehovah blessed Obed-edom, and all his house. |
|
 6:11
And the arkº
of the LORDº
continuedºº
in the houseº
of Obededomº
the Gittiteº
threeº
months:º
and the LORDº
blessedººº
Obededom,º
and allº
his household.º |
 6:12 ¶
And it was told king David, saying, Jehovah hath blessed the house of Obed-edom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the ark of God. And David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-edom into the city of David with joy. |
|
 6:12 ¶
And it was toldºº
kingº
David,º
saying,ºº
The LORDº
hath blessedººº
the houseº
of Obededom,º
and allº
thatº
[pertaineth] unto him, becauseº
of the arkº
of God.º
So Davidº
wentººº
and brought upººº
the arkº
of Godº
from the houseºº
of Obededomº
into the cityº
of Davidº
with gladness.º |
 6:13
And it was so, that, when they that bare the ark of Jehovah had gone six paces, he sacrificed an ox and a fatling. |
|
 6:13
And it wasº
[so], that whenº
they that bareºº
the arkº
of the LORDº
had goneºº
sixº
paces,º
he sacrificedºº
oxenº
and fatlings.º |
 6:14
And David danced before Jehovah with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod. |
|
 6:14
And Davidº
dancedºº
beforeº
the LORDº
with allº
[his] might;º
and Davidº
[was] girdedºº
with a linenº
ephod.º |
 6:15
So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of Jehovah with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet. |
|
 6:15
So Davidº
and allº
the houseº
of Israelº
brought upººº
the arkº
of the LORDº
with shouting,º
and with the soundº
of the trumpet.º |
 6:16
And it was so, as the ark of Jehovah came into the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looked out at the window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before Jehovah; and she despised him in her heart. |
|
 6:16
And asº
the arkº
of the LORDº
cameºº
into the cityº
of David,º
Michalº
Saul'sº
daughterº
lookedºº
throughº
a window,º
and sawººº
kingº
Davidº
leapingºº
and dancingºº
beforeº
the LORD;º
and she despisedºº
him in her heart.º |
 6:17 ¶
And they brought in the ark of Jehovah, and set it in its place, in the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it; and David offered burnt-offerings and peace-offerings before Jehovah. |
|
 6:17 ¶
And they broughtºº
inºº
the arkº
of the LORD,º
and setºº
it in his place,º
in the midstº
of the tabernacleº
thatº
Davidº
had pitchedºº
for it: and Davidº
offeredºº
burnt offeringsº
and peace offeringsº
beforeº
the LORD.º |
 6:18
And when David had made an end of offering the burnt-offering and the peace-offerings, he blessed the people in the name of Jehovah of hosts. |
|
 6:18
And as soon as Davidº
had made an endºº
of offeringººº
burnt offeringsº
and peace offerings,º
he blessedººº
the peopleº
in the nameº
of the LORDº
of hosts.º |
 6:19
And he dealt among all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, both to men and women, to every one a cake of bread, and a portion [of flesh], and a cake of raisins. So all the people departed every one to his house. |
|
 6:19
And he dealtºº
among allº
the people,º
[even] among the wholeº
multitudeº
of Israel,º
as well toº
the womenº
as men,ºº
to every oneº
aº
cakeº
of bread,º
and aº
good pieceº
[of flesh], and aº
flagonº
[of wine]. So allº
the peopleº
departedººº
every oneº
to his house.º |
 6:20 ¶
Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel to-day, who uncovered himself to-day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself! |
|
 6:20 ¶
Then Davidº
returnedºº
to blessººº
his household.º
And Michalº
the daughterº
of Saulº
came outºº
to meetºº
David,º
and said,ºº
Howº
gloriousºº
was the kingº
of Israelº
to day,º
whoº
uncoveredºº
himselfº
to dayº
in the eyesº
of the handmaidsº
of his servants,º
as oneº
of the vain fellowsº
shamelesslyºº
uncoverethºº
himself!º |
 6:21
And David said unto Michal, [It was] before Jehovah, who chose me above thy father, and above all his house, to appoint me prince over the people of Jehovah, over Israel: therefore will I play before Jehovah. |
|
 6:21
And Davidº
saidºº
untoº
Michal,º
[It was] beforeº
the LORD,º
whichº
choseºº
me before thy father,ºº
and before allºº
his house,º
to appointºº
me rulerº
overº
the peopleº
of the LORD,º
overº
Israel:º
therefore will I playºº
beforeº
the LORD.º |
 6:22
And I will be yet more vile than this, and will be base in mine own sight: but of the handmaids of whom thou hast spoken, of them shall I be had in honor. |
|
 6:22
And I will yetº
be more vileºº
than thus,ºº
and will beº
baseº
in mine own sight:º
and ofº
the maidservantsº
whichº
thou hast spokenºº
of, of them shall I be had in honour.ºº |
 6:23
And Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death. |
|
 6:23
Therefore Michalº
the daughterº
of Saulº
hadº
noº
childººº
untoº
the dayº
of her death.º |
