And Elihu{gr.Elius} resumed and said, |

Elihuº
spakeºº
moreover, and said,ºº |

35:2
What is this that thou thinkest to be according to right? who art thou that thou hast said, I am righteous before the Lord? |

Thinkestºº
thou thisº
to be right,º
[that] thou saidst,ºº
My righteousnessº
[is] more than El's?ºº |
|
35:3
I will answer thee, and thy three friends. |
|
35:3
Forº
thou saidst,ºº
Whatº
advantageºº
will it be unto thee? [and], Whatº
profitºº
shall I have, [if I be cleansed] from my sin?ºº |
|
35:4
Look up to the sky and see; and consider the clouds, how high [they are] above thee. |
|

Iº
will answerººº
thee, and thy companionsº
withº
thee. |
|
35:5
If thou hast sinned, what wilt thou do? |
|
35:5
Lookºº
unto the heavens,º
and see;ºº
and beholdºº
the cloudsº
[which] are higherºº
thanº
thou. |
|
35:6
and if too thou hast transgressed much, what canst thou perform? |
|
35:6
Ifº
thou sinnest,ºº
whatº
doestºº
thou against him? or [if] thy transgressionsº
be multiplied,ºº
whatº
doestºº
thou unto him? |
|
35:7
And suppose thou art righteous, what wilt thou give him? or what shall he receive of thy hand? |

Ifº
thou be righteous,ºº
whatº
givestºº
thou him? orº
whatº
receivethºº
he of thine hand?ºº |
|
35:8
Thy ungodliness [may affect] a man who is like to thee; or thy righteousness a son of man. |
|
35:8
Thy wickednessº
[may hurt] a manº
as thouº
[art]; and thy righteousnessº
[may profit] the sonº
of man.º |
|
35:9
They that are oppressed of a multitude will be ready to cry out; they will call for help because of the arm of many. |
|
35:9
By reason of the multitudeºº
of oppressionsº
they make [the oppressed] to cry:ºº
they cry outºº
by reason of the armºº
of the mighty.º |
|
35:10
But none said, Where is God that made me, who appoints the night-watches; |
|
35:10
But noneº
saith,ºº
Whereº
[is] Eloahº
my maker,ºº
who givethºº
songsº
in the night;º |
|
35:11
who makes me to differ from the four-footed beasts of the earth, and from the birds of the sky? |
|
35:11
Who teachethºº
us more than the beastsºº
of the earth,º
and maketh us wiserºº
than the fowlsºº
of heaven?º |
|
35:12
There they shall cry, and none shall hearken, even because of the insolence of wicked men. |
|
35:12
Thereº
they cry,ºº
but noneº
giveth answer,ºº
becauseºº
of the prideº
of evil men.º |
|
35:13
For the Lord desires not to look on error, for he is the Almighty One. |
|
35:13
Surelyº
Elº
will notº
hearºº
vanity,º
neitherº
will Shaddaiº
regardºº
it. |
|
35:14
He beholds them that perform lawless deeds, and he will save me: and do thou plead before him, if thou canst praise him, as it is [possible] even now. |
|
35:14
Althoughºº
thou sayestºº
thou shalt notº
seeºº
him, [yet] judgmentº
[is] beforeº
him; therefore trustºº
thou in him. |
|
35:15
For he is not [now] regarding his wrath, nor has he noticed severely any trespass. |
|
35:15
But now,º
becauseº
[it is] notº
[so], he hath visitedºº
in his anger;º
yet he knowethºº
[it] notº
in greatº
extremity:º |
|
35:16
Yet Job vainly opens his mouth, in ignorance he multiplies words. |
|
35:16
Therefore doth Jobº
openºº
his mouthº
in vain;º
he multipliethºº
wordsº
withoutº
knowledge.º |
