 18:1 ¶ And the Lord spoke to Mosheh{gr.Moses}, saying,

 18:1 ¶ And Yahwehº spakeºº untoº Moses,º saying,ºº

 18:2 Speak to the children of Israel, and thou shalt say to them, I [am] the Lord your God.

 18:2 Speakºº untoº the childrenº of Israel,º and sayºº untoº them, Iº am Yahwehº your Elohim.º

 18:3 Ye shall not do according to the devices of Mizraim{gr.Egypt}, in which ye dwelt: and according to the devices of the land of Canaan{gr.Chanaan}, into which I bring you, ye shall not do; and ye shall not walk in their ordinances.

 18:3 After the doingsº of the landº of Egypt,º whereinº ye dwelt,ºº shall ye notº do:ºº and after the doingsº of the landº of Canaan,º whitherºº Iº bringºº you, shall ye notº do:ºº neitherº shall ye walkººº in their ordinances.º

 18:4 Ye shall observe my judgments, and shall keep my ordinances, and shall walk in them: I [am] the Lord your God.

 18:4 Ye shall doººº my judgments,º and keepºº mine ordinances,º to walkººº therein: Iº [am] Yahwehº your Elohim.º

 18:5 So ye shall keep all my ordinances, and all my judgments, and do them; which if a man do, he shall live in them: I [am] the Lord your God.

 18:5 Ye shall therefore keepººº my statutes,º and my judgments:º whichº if a manº do,ºº he shall liveºº in them: Iº [am] Yahweh.º

 18:6 ¶ No man shall draw nigh to any of his near kindred to uncover their nakedness; I [am] the Lord.

 18:6 ¶ Noneºº of you shall approachºº toº anyºº that is nearº of kinº to him, to uncoverºº [their] nakedness:º Iº [am] Yahweh.º

 18:7 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father, or the nakedness of thy mother, for she is thy mother; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.

 18:7 The nakednessº of thy father,º or the nakednessº of thy mother,º shalt thou notº uncover:ºº sheº [is] thy mother;º thou shalt notº uncoverºº her nakedness.º

 18:8 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's wife; it is thy father's nakedness.

 18:8 The nakednessº of thy father'sº wifeº shalt thou notº uncover:ºº itº [is] thy father'sº nakedness.º

 18:9 The nakedness of thy sister by thy father or by thy mother, born at home or abroad, their nakedness thou shalt not uncover.

 18:9 The nakednessº of thy sister,º the daughterº of thy father,º orº daughterº of thy mother,º [whether she be] bornº at home,º orº bornº abroad,º [even] their nakednessº thou shalt notº uncover.ºº

 18:10 The nakedness of thy son's daughter, or thy daughter's daughter, their nakedness thou shalt not uncover; because it is thy nakedness.

 18:10 The nakednessº of thy son'sº daughter,º orº of thy daughter'sº daughter,º [even] their nakednessº thou shalt notº uncover:ºº forº theirsº [is] thine own nakedness.º

 18:11 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of the daughter of thy father's wife; she is thy sister by the same father: thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.

 18:11 The nakednessº of thy father'sº wife'sº daughter,º begottenº of thy father,º sheº [is] thy sister,º thou shalt notº uncoverºº her nakedness.º

 18:12 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's sister, for she is near akin to thy father.

 18:12 Thou shalt notº uncoverºº the nakednessº of thy father'sº sister:º sheº [is] thy father'sº near kinswoman.º

 18:13 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother's sister, for she is near akin to thy mother.

 18:13 Thou shalt notº uncoverºº the nakednessº of thy mother'sº sister:º forº sheº [is] thy mother'sº near kinswoman.º

 18:14 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's brother, and thou shalt not go in to his wife; for she is thy relation.

 18:14 Thou shalt notº uncoverºº the nakednessº of thy father'sº brother,º thou shalt notº approachºº toº his wife:º sheº [is] thine aunt.º

 18:15 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy daughter-in-law, for she is thy son's wife, thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.

 18:15 Thou shalt notº uncoverºº the nakednessº of thy daughter in law:º sheº [is] thy son'sº wife;º thou shalt notº uncoverºº her nakedness.º

 18:16 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy brother's wife: it is thy brother's nakedness.

 18:16 Thou shalt notº uncoverºº the nakednessº of thy brother'sº wife:º itº [is] thy brother'sº nakedness.º

 18:17 The nakedness of a woman and her daughter shalt thou not uncover; her son's daughter, and her daughter's daughter, shalt thou not take, to uncover their nakedness, for they are thy kinswomen: it is impiety.

 18:17 Thou shalt notº uncoverºº the nakednessº of a womanº and her daughter,º neitherº shalt thou takeººº her son'sº daughter,º or her daughter'sº daughter,º to uncoverºº her nakedness;º [for] theyº [are] her near kinswomen:º itº [is] wickedness.º

 18:18 Thou shalt not take a wife in addition to her sister, as a rival, to uncover her nakedness in opposition to her, while she is yet living.

 18:18 Neitherº shalt thou takeºº a wifeº toº her sister,º to vexºº [her], to uncoverºº her nakedness,º besideº the other in her lifeº [time].

 18:19 And thou shalt not go in to a woman under separation for her uncleanness, to uncover her nakedness.

 18:19 Also thou shalt notº approachºº untoº a womanº to uncoverºº her nakedness,º as long as she is put apartº for her uncleanness.º

 18:20 And thou shalt not lie with thy neighbour's wife, to defile thyself with her.

 18:20 Moreover thou shalt notººº lieº carnallyººº withº thy neighbour'sº wife,º to defileºº thyself with her.

 18:21 And thou shalt not give of thy seed to serve a ruler; and thou shalt not profane my holy name; I [am] the Lord.

 18:21 And thou shalt notººº letº any of thy seedºº passºº throughº [the fire] to Molech,º neitherº shalt thou profaneººº the nameº of thy Elohim:º Iº [am] Yahweh.º

 18:22 And thou shalt not lie with a man as with a woman, for it is an abomination.

 18:22 Thou shalt notº lieºº withº mankind,º as withº womankind:º itº [is] abomination.º

 18:23 Neither shalt thou lie with any quadruped for copulation, to be polluted with it: neither shall a woman present herself before any quadruped to have connexion with it; for it is an abomination.

 18:23 Neitherº shalt thouºº lieºº with anyº beastº to defileºº thyself therewith: neitherº shall any womanº standºº beforeº a beastº to lie downºº thereto: itº [is] confusion.º

 18:24 Do not defile yourselves with any of these things; for in all these things the nations are defiled, which I drive out before you,

 18:24 Defileºº not ye yourselvesºº in anyº of these things:º forº in allº theseº the nationsº are defiledºº whichº Iº cast outºº beforeºº you:

 18:25 and the land is polluted; and I have recompensed their iniquity to them because of it, and the land is aggrieved with them that dwell upon it.

 18:25 And the landº is defiled:ºº therefore I do visitºº the iniquityº thereof uponº it, and the landº itself vomiteth outººº her inhabitants.ºº

 18:26 And ye shall keep all my statutes and all my ordinances, and ye shall do none of these abominations; neither the native, nor the stranger that joins himself with you:

 18:26 Yeº shall therefore keepººº my statutesº and my judgments,º and shall notº commitºº [any] of theseººº abominations;º [neither] any of your own nation,º nor any strangerº that sojournethºº amongº you:

 18:27 (for all these abominations the men of the land did who were before you, and the land was defiled,)

 18:27 (Forºº allº theseº abominationsº have the menºº of the landº done,ºº whichº [were] beforeº you, and the landº is defiled;)ºº

 18:28 and lest the land be aggrieved with you in your polluting it, as it was aggrieved with the nations before you.

 18:28 That the landº spue not you outºººº also, when ye defileºº it, asº it spued outººº the nationsº thatº [were] beforeº you.

 18:29 For whosoever shall do any of these abominations, the souls that do them shall be destroyed from among their people.

 18:29 Forº whosoeverºº shall commitºº anyºº of theseº abominations,º even the soulsº that commitºº [them] shall be cut offºº from amongºº their people.º

 18:30 And ye shall keep mine ordinances, that ye may not do any of the abominable practices, which have taken place before your time: and ye shall not be polluted in them; for I [am] the Lord your God.

 18:30 Therefore shall ye keepººº mine ordinance,º that [ye] commitºº notºº [any one] of these abominableº customs,ººº whichº were committedºº beforeº you, and that ye defileºº not yourselvesºº therein: Iº [am] Yahwehº your Elohim.º
