and thine household,°
and sojourn°°
wheresoever°
thou canst sojourn:°°
for°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
hath called°°
for a famine;°
and it shall also°
come°°
upon°
the land°
seven°
years.° |

8:1 ¶
Then spake Elisha unto the woman, whose son he had restored to life, saying, Arise, and go thou and thine household, and sojourn wheresoever thou canst sojourn: for Yahweh hath called for a famine; and it shall also come upon the land seven years. |

And the woman°
arose,°°
and did°°
after the saying°
of the man°
of
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים:°
and she°
went°°°
with her household,°
and sojourned°°
in the land°
of the
Pælištîm
פְּלִשׁתִּים°
seven°
years.° |

And the woman arose, and did after the saying of the man of Elohim: and she went with her household, and sojourned in the land of the Pelishtim seven years. |

And it came to pass°
at the seven°
years'°
end,°°
that the woman°
returned°°
out of the land°°
of the
Pælištîm
פְּלִשׁתִּים:°
and she went forth°°
to cry°°
unto°
the king°
for°
her house°
and for°
her land.° |

And it came to pass at the seven years' end, that the woman returned out of the land of the Pelishtim: and she went forth to cry unto the king for her house and for her land. |

And the king°
talked°°
with°

אֱלֹהִים,°
saying,°°
Tell°°
me, I pray thee,°°
all°
the great things°
that°
´Élîšä`

And the king talked with Gechazi the servant of the man of Elohim, saying, Tell me, I pray thee, all the great things that Elisha hath done. |

And it came to pass,°
as he°
was telling°°
the king°°
how°
he had restored°°
a dead body°°
to life,°°°°
that, behold,°
the woman,°
whose°°
son°
he had restored to life,°°
cried°°
to°
the king°
for°
her house°
and for°
her land.°
And

אֲדוֹן,°
O king,°
this°
[is] the woman,°
and this°
[is] her son,°

´Élîšä`
אֱלִישָׁע°

And it came to pass, as he was telling the king how he had restored a dead body to life, that, behold, the woman, whose son he had restored to life, cried to the king for her house and for her land. And Gechazi said, My adon, O king, this [is] the woman, and this [is] her son, whom Elisha restored to life. |

And when the king°

him. So the king°
appointed°°
unto her a certain°
officer,°
saying,°°
Restore°°°
all°
that°
[was] hers, and all°
the fruits°
of the field°
since the day°°
that she left°°°
the land,°
even until°

And when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed unto her a certain officer, saying, Restore all that [was] hers, and all the fruits of the field since the day that she left the land, even until now. |

the king°

אֲרָם°
was sick;°°
and it was told°°
him, saying,°°
The man°

´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
is come°°
hither.°° |

And Elisha came to Dammaseq; and Ben-Hadad the king of Aram was sick; and it was told him, saying, The man of Elohim is come hither. |

a present°
in thine hand,°
and go,°°°
meet°°°
the man°

´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים,°
and enquire°°°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°

of this disease?°°° |

And the king said unto Chazael, Take a present in thine hand, and go, meet the man of Elohim, and enquire of Yahweh by him, saying, Shall I recover of this disease? |

And Elisha said unto him, Go, say unto him, Thou mayest certainly recover: howbeit Yahweh hath shewed me that he shall surely die. |

And he settled°°°
his countenance°
stedfastly,°°
until°
he was ashamed:°°
and the man°

´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
wept.°° |

the evil°

thou wilt do°°
unto the children°

their strong holds°
wilt thou set°°
on fire,°
and their young men°
wilt thou slay°°
with the sword,°
and wilt dash°°
their children,°
and rip up°°
their women with child.° |

And Chazael said, Why weepeth my adon? And he answered, Because I know the evil that thou wilt do unto the children of Yisrael: their strong holds wilt thou set on fire, and their young men wilt thou slay with the sword, and wilt dash their children, and rip up their women with child. |

And Chazael said, But what, [is] thy servant a dog, that he should do this great thing? And Elisha answered, Yahweh hath shewed me that thou [shalt be] king over Aram. |

to°

אֲדוֹן;°
who said°°
to him, What°

to thee? And he answered,°°
He told°°
me [that] thou shouldest surely°°
recover.°° |

So he departed from Elisha, and came to his adon; who said to him, What said Elisha to thee? And he answered, He told me [that] thou shouldest surely recover. |

And it came to pass°
on the morrow,°°
that he took°°
a thick cloth,°
and dipped°°
[it] in water,°
and spread°°
[it] on°
his face,°
so that he died:°°

And in the fifth year of Yoram the son of Achav king of Yisrael, Yehoshafat [being] then king of Yehudah, Yehoram the son of Yehoshafat king of Yehudah began to reign. |

And he walked in the way of the kings of Yisrael, as did the house of Achav: for the daughter of Achav was his wife: and he did evil in the sight of Yahweh. |

Yet

destroy°°°

יְהוּדָה°
for
Däwiđ
דָּוִד°
his servant's°
sake,°
as°
he promised°°
him to give°°
him alway°°
a light,°
[and] to his children.° |

Yet Yahweh would not destroy Yehudah for Dawid his servant's sake, as he promised him to give him alway a light, [and] to his children. |

8:20 ¶
In his days°
´Éđôm
אֱדוֹם°
revolted°°
from under°°
the hand°
of
Yæhûđà
יְהוּדָה,°
and made°°
a king°
over°
themselves. |
|
8:20 ¶
In his days Edom revolted from under the hand of Yehudah, and made a king over themselves. |
|
8:21
So
Yôräm
יוֹרָם°
went over°°
to
Xä`îr
צָעִיר,°
and all°
the chariots°
with°
him: and he°
rose°°
by night,°
and smote°°°
the
´Áđômîm
אֲדוֹמִים°
which compassed him about,°°°
and the captains°
of the chariots:°
and the people°
fled°°
into their tents.° |

So Yoram went over to Tzair, and all the chariots with him: and he rose by night, and smote the Adomim which compassed him about, and the captains of the chariots: and the people fled into their tents. |

And Yoram slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of Dawid: and Achazyah his son reigned in his stead. |

And he went with Yoram the son of Achav to the war against Chazael king of Aram in Ramoth-Gilad; and the Arammim wounded Yoram. |

And king Yoram went back to be healed in Yizreel of the wounds which the Arammim had given him at Ramah, when he fought against Chazael king of Aram. And Achazyah the son of Yehoram king of Yehudah went down to see Yoram the son of Achav in Yizreel, because he was sick. |
