to acceptºº
the personº
of the wicked,º
to overthrowºº
the righteousº

[It is] not good to accept the person of the wicked, to overthrow the righteous in judgment. |

into contention,º
and his mouthº

for strokes.º |

A fool's lips enter into contention, and his mouth calleth for strokes. |

[is] his destruction,º
and his lipsº
[are] the snareº

into the innermost partsº

but the richº
answerethºº

The poor useth intreaties; but the rich answereth roughly. |

A manº
[that hath] friendsº
must shew himself friendly:ºº
and there isº
a friendºº
[that] sticketh closerº
than a brother.ºº |
