 15:1 ¶ At the endºº of [every] sevenº yearsº thou shalt makeºº a release.º

 15:1 ¶ At the end of [every] seven years thou shalt make a release.

 15:2 And thisº [is] the mannerº of the release:º Everyº creditorººº thatº lendethºº [ought] unto his neighbourº shall releaseºº [it]; he shall notº exactººº [it] of his neighbour,º or of his brother;º becauseº it is calledºº Yähwè's יָהוֶהº release.º

 15:2 And this [is] the manner of the release: Every creditor that lendeth [ought] unto his neighbour shall release [it]; he shall not exact [it] of his neighbour, or of his brother; because it is called Yahweh's release.

 15:3 Ofº a foreignerº thou mayest exactºº [it again]: but [that] whichº isº thine withº thy brotherº thine handº shall release;ºº

 15:3 Of a foreigner thou mayest exact [it again]: but [that] which is thine with thy brother thine hand shall release;

 15:4 Saveº whenº there shall beº noº poorº among you; forº Yähwè יָהוֶהº shall greatlyºº blessºº thee in the landº whichº Yähwè יָהוֶהº thy ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº givethºº thee [for] an inheritanceº to possessºº it:

 15:4 Save when there shall be no poor among you; for Yahweh shall greatly bless thee in the land which Yahweh thy Elohim giveth thee [for] an inheritance to possess it:

 15:5 Onlyº ifº thou carefullyºº hearkenºº unto the voiceº of Yähwè יָהוֶהº thy ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים,º to observeºº to doººº allº theseº commandmentsº whichº Iº commandºº thee this day.º

 15:5 Only if thou carefully hearken unto the voice of Yahweh thy Elohim, to observe to do all these commandments which I command thee this day.

 15:6 Forº Yähwè יָהוֶהº thy ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº blessethºº thee, asº he promisedºº thee: and thou shalt lendºº unto manyº nations,º but thouº shalt notº borrow;ºº and thou shalt reignºº over manyº nations,º but they shall notº reignºº over thee.

 15:6 For Yahweh thy Elohim blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee.

 15:7 ¶ Ifº there beº among you a poor manº of oneºº of thy brethrenº within anyº of thy gatesº in thy landº whichº Yähwè יָהוֶהº thy ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº givethºº thee, thou shalt notº hardenººº thine heart,º norº shutººº thine handº from thy poorº brother:ºº

 15:7 ¶ If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which Yahweh thy Elohim giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother:

 15:8 Butº thou shalt openººº thine handº wideºº unto him, and shalt surelyºº lendºº him sufficientº for his need,º [in that] whichº he wanteth.ºº

 15:8 But thou shalt open thine hand wide unto him, and shalt surely lend him sufficient for his need, [in that] which he wanteth.

 15:9 Bewareºº thatº there beº not a thoughtº inº thy wickedº heart,º saying,ºº The seventhº year,º the yearº of release,º is at hand;ºº and thine eyeº be evilºº against thy poorº brother,º and thou givestºº him nought;º and he cryºº untoº Yähwè יָהוֶהº againstº thee, and it beº sinº unto thee.

 15:9 Beware that there be not a thought in thy wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and thine eye be evil against thy poor brother, and thou givest him nought; and he cry unto Yahweh against thee, and it be sin unto thee.

 15:10 Thou shalt surelyºº giveºº him, and thine heartº shall notº be grievedººº when thou givestºº unto him: becauseº thatº forº thisº thingº Yähwè יָהוֶהº thy ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº shall blessºº thee in allº thy works,º and in allº that thou puttestº thine handº unto.

 15:10 Thou shalt surely give him, and thine heart shall not be grieved when thou givest unto him: because that for this thing Yahweh thy Elohim shall bless thee in all thy works, and in all that thou puttest thine hand unto.

 15:11 Forº the poorº shall neverº ceaseºº out ofºº the land:º thereforeºº Iº commandºº thee, saying,ºº Thou shalt openººº thine handº wideºº unto thy brother,º to thy poor,º and to thy needy,º in thy land.º

 15:11 For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land.

 15:12 ¶ [And] ifº thy brother,º an `Ivrî עִברִי man,º orº an `Ivrî עִברִי woman,º be soldºº unto thee, and serveºº thee sixº years;º then in the seventhº yearº thou shalt let him goºº freeº fromºº thee.

 15:12 ¶ [And] if thy brother, an Ivri man, or an Ivri woman, be sold unto thee, and serve thee six years; then in the seventh year thou shalt let him go free from thee.

 15:13 And whenº thou sendestºº him outº freeº fromºº thee, thou shalt notº let him go awayºº empty:º

 15:13 And when thou sendest him out free from thee, thou shalt not let him go away empty:

 15:14 Thou shalt furnishºº him liberallyºº out of thy flock,ºº and out of thy floor,ºº and out of thy winepress:ºº [of that] wherewithº Yähwè יָהוֶהº thy ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº hath blessedºº thee thou shalt giveºº unto him.

 15:14 Thou shalt furnish him liberally out of thy flock, and out of thy floor, and out of thy winepress: [of that] wherewith Yahweh thy Elohim hath blessed thee thou shalt give unto him.

 15:15 And thou shalt rememberºº thatº thou wastº a bondmanº in the landº of Mixrayim מִצרַיִם,º and Yähwè יָהוֶהº thy ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº redeemedºº thee: thereforeºº Iº commandºº theeº thisº thingº to day.º

 15:15 And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in the land of Mitzrayim, and Yahweh thy Elohim redeemed thee: therefore I command thee this thing to day.

 15:16 And it shall be,º ifº he sayºº untoº thee, I will notº go awayºº fromºº thee; becauseº he lovethºº thee and thine house,º becauseº he is wellººº withº thee;

 15:16 And it shall be, if he say unto thee, I will not go away from thee; because he loveth thee and thine house, because he is well with thee;

 15:17 Then thou shalt takeººº an aul,º and thrustºº [it] through his earº unto the door,º and he shall beº thy servantº for ever.º And alsoº unto thy maidservantº thou shalt doºº likewise.º

 15:17 Then thou shalt take an aul, and thrust [it] through his ear unto the door, and he shall be thy servant for ever. And also unto thy maidservant thou shalt do likewise.

 15:18 It shall notº seem hardºº unto thee,ºº when thou sendest him awayººº freeº fromºº thee; forº he hath been worthº a doubleº hired servantº [to thee], in servingºº thee sixº years:º and Yähwè יָהוֶהº thy ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº shall blessºº thee in allº thatº thou doest.ºº

 15:18 It shall not seem hard unto thee, when thou sendest him away free from thee; for he hath been worth a double hired servant [to thee], in serving thee six years: and Yahweh thy Elohim shall bless thee in all that thou doest.

 15:19 ¶ Allº the firstlingº malesº thatº comeºº of thy herdº and of thy flockº thou shalt sanctifyºº unto Yähwè יָהוֶהº thy ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים:º thou shalt do noº workºº with the firstlingº of thy bullock,º norº shearºº the firstlingº of thy sheep.º

 15:19 ¶ All the firstling males that come of thy herd and of thy flock thou shalt sanctify unto Yahweh thy Elohim: thou shalt do no work with the firstling of thy bullock, nor shear the firstling of thy sheep.

 15:20 Thou shalt eatºº [it] beforeº Yähwè יָהוֶהº thy ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº yearº by yearº in the placeº whichº Yähwè יָהוֶהº shall choose,ºº thouº and thy household.º

 15:20 Thou shalt eat [it] before Yahweh thy Elohim year by year in the place which Yahweh shall choose, thou and thy household.

 15:21 And ifº there beº [any] blemishº therein, [as if it be] lame,º orº blind,º [or have] anyº illº blemish,º thou shalt notº sacrificeºº it unto Yähwè יָהוֶהº thy ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים.º

 15:21 And if there be [any] blemish therein, [as if it be] lame, or blind, [or have] any ill blemish, thou shalt not sacrifice it unto Yahweh thy Elohim.

 15:22 Thou shalt eatºº it within thy gates:º the uncleanº and the cleanº [person shall eat it] alike,º as the roebuck,º and as the hart.º

 15:22 Thou shalt eat it within thy gates: the unclean and the clean [person shall eat it] alike, as the roebuck, and as the hart.

 15:23 Onlyº thou shalt notº eatººº the bloodº thereof; thou shalt pourºº it uponº the groundº as water.º

 15:23 Only thou shalt not eat the blood thereof; thou shalt pour it upon the ground as water.
