 32:1 ¶ Give ear,ºº O ye heavens,º and I will speak;ºº and hear,ºº O earth,º the wordsº of my mouth.º

 32:1 ¶ Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.

 32:2 My doctrineº shall dropºº as the rain,º my speechº shall distilºº as the dew,º as the small rainº uponº the tender herb,º and as the showersº uponº the grass:º

 32:2 My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:

 32:3 Becauseº I will publishºº the nameº of Yähwè יָהוֶה:º ascribeºº ye greatnessº unto our ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים.º

 32:3 Because I will publish the name of Yahweh: ascribe ye greatness unto our Elohim.

 32:4 [He is] the Rock,º his workº [is] perfect:º forº allº his waysº [are] judgment:º an ´Ël אֵלº of truthº and withoutº iniquity,º justº and rightº [is] he.º

 32:4 [He is] the Rock, his work [is] perfect: for all his ways [are] judgment: an El of truth and without iniquity, just and right [is] he.

 32:5 They have corruptedºº themselves, their spotº [is] notº [the spot] of his children:º [they are] a perverseº and crookedº generation.º

 32:6 Do ye thusº requiteºº Yähwè יָהוֶה,º O foolishº peopleº and unwise?ºº [is] notº heº thy fatherº [that] hath boughtºº thee? hath heº not madeºº thee, and establishedºº thee?

 32:6 Do ye thus requite Yahweh, O foolish people and unwise? [is] not he thy father [that] hath bought thee? hath he not made thee, and established thee?

 32:7 ¶ Rememberºº the daysº of old,º considerºº the yearsº of manyº generations:º askºº thy father,º and he will shewºº thee; thy elders,º and they will tellºº thee.

 32:7 ¶ Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will shew thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee.

 32:8 When `Elyôn עֶליוֹןº dividedºº to the nationsº their inheritance,ºº when he separatedºº the sonsº of ´Äðäm אָדָם,º he setºº the boundsº of the peopleº according to the numberº of the childrenº of Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל.º

 32:8 When Elyon divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Yisrael.

 32:9 Forº Yähwè's יָהוֶהº portionº [is] his people;º Ya`áköv יַעֲקֹבº [is] the lotº of his inheritance.º

 32:9 For Yahweh's portion [is] his people; Yaaqov [is] the lot of his inheritance.

 32:10 He foundºº him in a desertº land,º and in the wasteº howlingº wilderness;º he led him about,ºº he instructedºº him, he keptºº him as the appleº of his eye.º

 32:10 He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.

 32:11 As an eagleº stirreth upºº her nest,º flutterethºº overº her young,º spreadeth abroadºº her wings,º takethºº them, bearethºº them onº her wings:º

 32:12 [So] Yähwè יָהוֶהº aloneº did leadºº him, and [there was] noº strangeº ´ël אֵלº withº him.

 32:13 He made him rideºº onº the high placesº of the earth,º that he might eatºº the increaseº of the fields;º and he made him to suckºº honeyº out of the rock,ºº and oilº out of the flintyºº rock;º

 32:13 He made him ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock;

 32:14 Butterº of kine,º and milkº of sheep,º withº fatº of lambs,º and ramsº of the breedº of Bäšän בָּשָׁן,º and goats,º withº the fatº of kidneysº of wheat;º and thou didst drinkºº the pureº bloodº of the grape.º

 32:14 Butter of kine, and milk of sheep, with fat of lambs, and rams of the breed of Bashan, and goats, with the fat of kidneys of wheat; and thou didst drink the pure blood of the grape.

 32:15 ¶ But Yæšurûn יְשֻׁרוּןº waxed fat,ºº and kicked:ºº thou art waxen fat,ºº thou art grown thick,ºº thou art coveredºº [with fatness]; then he forsookºº ´Élôåh אֱלוֹהַº [which] madeºº him, and lightly esteemedºº the Rockº of his salvation.º

 32:15 ¶ But Yeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered [with fatness]; then he forsook Eloah [which] made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.

 32:16 They provoked him to jealousyºº with strangeºº [´élöhîm אֱלֹהִים], with abominationsº provoked they him to anger.ºº

 32:16 They provoked him to jealousy with strange [elohim], with abominations provoked they him to anger.

 32:17 They sacrificedºº unto devils,º notº to ´Élôåh אֱלוֹהַ;º to ´élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº whom they knewºº not,º to newº [´élöhîm אֱלֹהִים that] cameºº newlyº up,ºººº whom your fathersº fearedºº not.º

 32:17 They sacrificed unto devils, not to Eloah; to elohim whom they knew not, to new [elohim that] came newly up, whom your fathers feared not.

 32:18 Of the Rockº [that] begatºº thee thou art unmindful,ºº and hast forgottenºº ´Ël אֵלº that formedºº thee.

 32:18 Of the Rock [that] begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten El that formed thee.

 32:19 And when Yähwè יָהוֶהº sawºº [it], he abhorredºº [them], because of the provokingºº of his sons,º and of his daughters.º

 32:19 And when Yahweh saw [it], he abhorred [them], because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters.

 32:20 And he said,ºº I will hideºº my faceº fromº them, I will seeºº whatº their endº [shall be]: forº theyº [are] a very frowardº generation,º childrenº in whom [is] noº faith.º

 32:20 And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end [shall be]: for they [are] a very froward generation, children in whom [is] no faith.

 32:21 Theyº have moved me to jealousyºº with [that which is] notº ´Ël אֵל;º they have provoked me to angerºº with their vanities:º and Iº will move them to jealousyºº with [those which are] notº a people;º I will provoke them to angerºº with a foolishº nation.º

 32:21 They have moved me to jealousy with [that which is] not El; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities: and I will move them to jealousy with [those which are] not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.

 32:22 Forº a fireº is kindledºº in mine anger,º and shall burnºº untoº the lowestº hell,º and shall consumeºº the earthº with her increase,º and set on fireºº the foundationsºº of the mountains.º

 32:22 For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.

 32:23 I will heapºº mischiefsº uponº them; I will spendºº mine arrowsº upon them.

 32:23 I will heap mischiefs upon them; I will spend mine arrows upon them.

 32:24 [They shall be] burntº with hunger,º and devouredºº with burning heat,º and with bitterº destruction:º I will also sendºº the teethº of beastsº upon them, withº the poisonº of serpentsºº of the dust.º

 32:24 [They shall be] burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction: I will also send the teeth of beasts upon them, with the poison of serpents of the dust.

 32:25 The swordº without,ºº and terrorº within,ºº shall destroyºº bothº the young manº andº the virgin,º the sucklingºº [also] withº the manº of gray hairs.º

 32:25 The sword without, and terror within, shall destroy both the young man and the virgin, the suckling [also] with the man of gray hairs.

 32:26 I said,ºº I would scatter them into corners,ºº I would make the remembranceº of them to ceaseºº from among men:ººº

 32:26 I said, I would scatter them into corners, I would make the remembrance of them to cease from among men:

 32:27 Were it notº thatº I fearedºº the wrathº of the enemy,ºº lestº their adversariesº should behave themselves strangely,ºº [and] lestº they should say,ºº Our handº [is] high,ºº and Yähwè יָהוֶהº hath notº doneºº allº this.º

 32:27 Were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should behave themselves strangely, [and] lest they should say, Our hand [is] high, and Yahweh hath not done all this.

 32:28 Forº theyº [are] a nationº voidºº of counsel,º neitherº [is there any] understandingº in them.

 32:28 For they [are] a nation void of counsel, neither [is there any] understanding in them.

 32:29 O thatº they were wise,ºº [that] they understoodºº this,º [that] they would considerºº their latter end!º

 32:29 O that they were wise, [that] they understood this, [that] they would consider their latter end!

 32:30 Howº should oneº chaseºº a thousand,º and twoº putº tenº thousandºº to flight,ºº exceptººº their Rockº had soldºº them,º and Yähwè יָהוֶהº had shut them up?ºº

 32:30 How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and Yahweh had shut them up?

 32:31 Forº their rockº [is] notº as our Rock,º even our enemiesºº themselves [being] judges.º

 32:31 For their rock [is] not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves [being] judges.

 32:32 Forº their vineº [is] of the vineºº of Sæðöm סְדֹם,º and of the fieldsºº of `Ámörà עֲמֹרָה:º their grapesº [are] grapesº of gall,º their clustersº [are] bitter:º

 32:32 For their vine [is] of the vine of Sedom, and of the fields of Amorah: their grapes [are] grapes of gall, their clusters [are] bitter:

 32:33 Their wineº [is] the poisonº of dragons,º and the cruelº venomº of asps.º

 32:33 Their wine [is] the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps.

 32:34 [Is] notº thisº laid up in storeºº withº me, [and] sealed upºº among my treasures?º

 32:34 [Is] not this laid up in store with me, [and] sealed up among my treasures?

 32:35 To me [belongeth] vengeance,º and recompence;º their footº shall slideºº in [due] time:º forº the dayº of their calamityº [is] at hand,º and the things that shall comeº upon them make haste.ºº

 32:35 To me [belongeth] vengeance, and recompence; their foot shall slide in [due] time: for the day of their calamity [is] at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste.

 32:36 Forº Yähwè יָהוֶהº shall judgeºº his people,º and repentºº himselfº forº his servants,º whenº he seethºº thatº [their] powerº is gone,ºº and [there is] noneº shut up,ºº or left.ºº

 32:36 For Yahweh shall judge his people, and repent himself for his servants, when he seeth that [their] power is gone, and [there is] none shut up, or left.

 32:37 And he shall say,ºº Whereº [are] their ´élöhîm אֱלֹהִים,º [their] rockº in whom they trusted,ºº

 32:37 And he shall say, Where [are] their elohim, [their] rock in whom they trusted,

 32:38 Whichº did eatºº the fatº of their sacrifices,º [and] drankºº the wineº of their drink offerings?º let them rise upºº and helpºº you, [and] beºº your protection.º

 32:38 Which did eat the fat of their sacrifices, [and] drank the wine of their drink offerings? let them rise up and help you, [and] be your protection.

 32:39 Seeºº nowº thatº I,º [even] I,º [am] he,º and [there is] noº ´élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº withº me: Iº kill,ºº and I make alive;ºº I wound,ºº and Iº heal:ºº neitherº [is there any] that can deliverºº out of my hand.ºº

 32:39 See now that I, [even] I, [am] he, and [there is] no elohim with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither [is there any] that can deliver out of my hand.

 32:40 Forº I lift upºº my handº toº heaven,º and say,ºº Iº liveº for ever.º

 32:40 For I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live for ever.

 32:41 Ifº I whetºº my glitteringº sword,º and mine handº take holdºº on judgment;º I will renderºº vengeanceº to mine enemies,º and will rewardºº them that hateºº me.

 32:41 If I whet my glittering sword, and mine hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to mine enemies, and will reward them that hate me.

 32:42 I will make mine arrowsº drunkºº with blood,ºº and my swordº shall devourºº flesh;º [and that] with the bloodºº of the slainº and of the captives,º from the beginningºº of revengesº upon the enemy.ºº

 32:42 I will make mine arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh; [and that] with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the beginning of revenges upon the enemy.

 32:43 Rejoice,ºº O ye nations,º [with] his people:º forº he will avengeºº the bloodº of his servants,º and will renderºº vengeanceº to his adversaries,º and will be mercifulºº unto his land,º [and] to his people.º

 32:43 Rejoice, O ye nations, [with] his people: for he will avenge the blood of his servants, and will render vengeance to his adversaries, and will be merciful unto his land, [and] to his people.

 32:44 ¶ And Möšè מֹשֶׁהº cameºº and spakeººº allº the wordsº of thisº songº in the earsº of the people,º he,º and Hôšëå` הוֹשֵׁעַº the sonº of Nûn נוּן.º

 32:44 ¶ And Mosheh came and spake all the words of this song in the ears of the people, he, and Hoshea the son of Nun.

 32:45 And Möšè מֹשֶׁהº made an endºº of speakingººº allº theseº wordsº toº allº Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל:º

 32:45 And Mosheh made an end of speaking all these words to all Yisrael:

 32:46 And he saidºº untoº them, Setºº your heartsº unto allº the wordsº whichº Iº testifyºº among you this day,º whichº ye shall commandººº your childrenº to observeºº to do,ººº allº the wordsº of thisº law.º

 32:46 And he said unto them, Set your hearts unto all the words which I testify among you this day, which ye shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law.

 32:47 Forº itº [is] notº a vainº thingº forº you; becauseº itº [is] your life:º and through thisº thingº ye shall prolongºº [your] daysº inº the land,º whitherºº yeº go overººº Yardën יַרדֵּןº to possessºº it.

 32:47 For it [is] not a vain thing for you; because it [is] your life: and through this thing ye shall prolong [your] days in the land, whither ye go over Yarden to possess it.

 32:48 And Yähwè יָהוֶהº spakeºº untoº Möšè מֹשֶׁהº thatº selfsameº day,º saying,ºº

 32:48 And Yahweh spake unto Mosheh that selfsame day, saying,

 32:49 Get thee upºº intoº thisº mountainº `Ávärîm עֲבָרִים,º [unto] mountº Nævô נְבוֹ,º whichº [is] in the landº of Mô´äv מוֹאָב,º thatº [is] overº againstº Yærîçô יְרִיחוֹ;º and beholdººº the landº of Cænä`an כְּנָעַן,º whichº Iº giveºº unto the childrenº of Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵלº for a possession:º

 32:49 Get thee up into this mountain Avarim, [unto] mount Nevo, which [is] in the land of Moav, that [is] over against Yericho; and behold the land of Kenaan, which I give unto the children of Yisrael for a possession:

 32:50 And dieºº in the mountº whitherºº thouº goest up,ºº and be gatheredºº untoº thy people;º asº ´Ahárön אַהֲרֹןº thy brotherº diedºº in mountº Hör הֹר,º and was gatheredºº untoº his people:º

 32:50 And die in the mount whither thou goest up, and be gathered unto thy people; as Aharon thy brother died in mount Hor, and was gathered unto his people:

 32:51 Becauseºº ye trespassedºº against me amongº the childrenº of Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵלº at the watersº of Mærîvà מְרִיבָה-Käðëš קָדֵשׁ,ººº in the wildernessº of Xin צִן;º becauseºº ye sanctifiedºº me notº in the midstº of the childrenº of Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל.º

 32:51 Because ye trespassed against me among the children of Yisrael at the waters of Merivah-Qadesh, in the wilderness of Tzin; because ye sanctified me not in the midst of the children of Yisrael.

 32:52 Yetº thou shalt seeººº the landº beforeºº [thee]; but thou shalt notº goºº thitherº untoº the landº whichº Iº giveºº the childrenº of Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל.º

 32:52 Yet thou shalt see the land before [thee]; but thou shalt not go thither unto the land which I give the children of Yisrael.
