 31:1 ¶ Now the Pælištîm פְּלִשׁתִּים 6430 fought 3898 z8737 against Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל: 3478 and the men y582 x376 of Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל 3478 fled 5127 z8799 from before 6440 x4480 the Pælištîm פְּלִשׁתִּים, 6430 and fell down 5307 z8799 slain 2491 in mount 2022 Gilböå` גִּלבֹּעַ. 1533

וַיַּדְבְּקוּ פְלִשְׁתִּים אֶת־שָׁאוּל וְאֶת־בָּנָיו וַיַּכּוּ פְלִשְׁתִּים אֶת־יְהוֹנָתָן וְאֶת־אֲבִינָדָב וְאֶת־מַלְכִּי־שׁוּעַ בְּנֵי שָׁאוּל

 31:2 waYad'B'qû f'lish'Tiym et-shäûl w'et-Bänäyw waYaKû f'lish'Tiym et-y'hônätän w'et-áviynädäv w'et-mal'Kiy-shûª B'nëy shäûl

 31:2 And the Pælištîm פְּלִשׁתִּים 6430 followed hard y1692 z8686 upon x1692 x853 Šä´ûl שָׁאוּל 7586 and upon his sons; 1121 and the Pælištîm פְּלִשׁתִּים 6430 slew 5221 z8686 x853 Yæhônäŧän יְהוֹנָתָן, 3083 and ´Ávînäđäv אֲבִינָדָב, 41 and Malcî Šûå` מַלכִּי־שׁוּעַ, 4444 Šä´ûl's שָׁאוּל 7586 sons. 1121

וַתִּכְבַּד הַמִּלְחָמָה אֶל־שָׁאוּל וַיִּמְצָאֻהוּ הַמּוֹרִים אֲנָשִׁים בַּקָּשֶׁת וַיָּחֶל מְאֹד מֵהַמּוֹרִים

וַיֹּאמֶר שָׁאוּל לְנֹשֵׂא כֵלָיו שְׁלֹף חַרְבְּךָ וְדָקְרֵנִי בָהּ פֶּן־יָבוֹאוּ הָעֲרֵלִים הָאֵלֶּה וּדְקָרֻנִי וְהִתְעַלְּלוּ־בִי וְלֹא אָבָה נֹשֵׂא כֵלָיו כִּי יָרֵא מְאֹד וַיִּקַּח שָׁאוּל אֶת־הַחֶרֶב וַיִּפֹּל עָלֶיהָ

 31:4 Then said 559 z8799 Šä´ûl שָׁאוּל 7586 unto his armourbearer, 5375 3627 z8802 Draw 8025 z8798 thy sword, 2719 and thrust me through 1856 z8798 therewith; lest x6435 these x428 uncircumcised 6189 come 935 z8799 and thrust me through, 1856 z8804 and abuse 5953 z8694 me. וַיַּרְא נֹשֵׂא־כֵלָיו כִּי מֵת שָׁאוּל וַיִּפֹּל גַּם־הוּא עַל־חַרְבּוֹ וַיָּמָת עִמּוֹ

וַיָּמָת שָׁאוּל וּשְׁלֹשֶׁת בָּנָיו וְנֹשֵׂא כֵלָיו גַּם כָּל־אֲנָשָׁיו בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא יַחְדָּו

 31:6 waYämät shäûl ûsh'loshet Bänäyw w'nosë khëläyw Gam Käl-ánäshäyw BaYôm hahû yach'Däw

 31:6 So Šä´ûl שָׁאוּל 7586 died, 4191 z8799 and his three 7969 sons, 1121 and his armourbearer, 5375 3627 z8802 and x1571 all x3605 his men, y582 x376 that same x1931 day 3117 together. 3162

 31:9 waYikh'r'tû et-roshô waYaf'shiyţû et-Këläyw way'shaL'chû v'eretz-P'lish'Tiym šäviyv l'vaSër Bëyt átzaBëyhem w'et-hääm

 31:9 And they cut off 3772 z8799 x853 his head, 7218 and stripped off 6584 z8686 x853 his armour, 3627 and sent 7971 z8762 into the land 776 of the Pælištîm פְּלִשׁתִּים 6430 round about, 5439 to publish 1319 z8763 [it in] the house 1004 of their idols, 6091 and among x854 the people. 5971

וַיָּשִׂמוּ אֶת־כֵּלָיו בֵּית עַשְׁתָּרוֹת וְאֶת־גְּוִיָּתוֹ תָּקְעוּ בְּחוֹמַת בֵּית שָׁן

וַיָּקוּמוּ כָּל־אִישׁ חַיִל וַיֵּלְכוּ כָל־הַלַּיְלָה וַיִּקְחוּ אֶת־גְּוִיַּת שָׁאוּל וְאֵת גְּוִיֹּת בָּנָיו מֵחוֹמַת בֵּית שָׁן וַיָּבֹאוּ יָבֵשָׁה וַיִּשְׂרְפוּ אֹתָם שָׁם

 31:12 waYäqûmû Käl-iysh chayil waYël'khû khäl-haLay'läh waYiq'chû et-G'wiYat shäûl w'ët G'wiYot Bänäyw mëchômat Bëyt shän waYävoû yävëshäh waYis'r'fû otäm shäm
