Ezekiel 28

1 God's judgment upon the prince of Tyrus for his sacrilegious pride. 11 A lamentation of his great glory corrupted by sin. 20 The judgment of Zidon. 24 The restoration of Israel.

 28:1 The word 1697 of the LORD 3068 came 1961 again to me, saying 559,

 28:2 “Son 1121 of man 120, say 559 to the leader 5057 of Tyre 6865, ‘Thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, “Because 3282 your heart 3820 is lifted 1361b up And you have said 559, ‘I am a god 410, I sit 3427 in the seat 4186 of gods 430 In the heart 3820 of the seas 3220’; Yet you are a man 120 and not God 410, Although you make 5414 your heart 3820 like the heart 3820 of God 430—

 28:3 Behold 2009, you are wiser 2450 than 4480 Daniel 1840; There is no 3605 3808 secret 5640 that is a match 6004 for you.

 28:4 “By your wisdom 2451 and understanding 8394 You have acquired 6213a riches 2428 for yourself And have acquired 6213a gold 2091 and silver 3701 for your treasuries 214.

 28:5 “By your great 7230 wisdom 2451, by your trade 7404 You have increased 7235a your riches 2428 And your heart 3824 is lifted 1361b up because of your riches 2428—

 28:6 Therefore 3651 thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, ‘Because 3282 you have made 5414 your heart 3824 Like the heart 3820 of God 430,

 28:7 Therefore 3651, behold 2009, I will bring 935 strangers 2114a upon you, The most 6184 ruthless 6184 of the nations 1471. And they will draw 7385a their swords 2719 Against 5921 the beauty 3308 of your wisdom 2451 And defile 2490c your splendor 3314.

 28:8 ‘They will bring 3381 you down 3381 to the pit 7845, And you will die 4191 the death 4463 of those who are slain 2491a In the heart 3820 of the seas 3220.

 28:9 ‘Will you still 559 say 559, “I am a god 430,” In the presence 6440 of your slayer 2026, Though you are a man 120 and not God 410, In the hands 3027 of those who wound 2490a you?

 28:10 ‘You will die 4191 the death 4194 of the uncircumcised 6189 By the hand 3027 of strangers 2114a, For I have spoken 1696!’ declares 5002 the Lord 136 GOD 3068!”’”

 28:11 ¶ Again the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 came 1961 to me saying 559,

 28:12 “Son 1121 of man 120, take 5375 up a lamentation 7015 over 5921 the king 4428 of Tyre 6865 and say 559 to him, ‘Thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, “You had the seal 2856 of perfection 8508, Full 4392 of wisdom 2451 and perfect 3632 in beauty 3308.

 28:13 “You were in Eden 5731, the garden 1588 of God 430; Every 3605 precious 3368 stone 68 was your covering 4540: The ruby 124, the topaz 6357 and the diamond 3095; The beryl 8658, the onyx 7718 and the jasper 3471; The lapis 5601 lazuli 5601, the turquoise 5306 and the emerald 1304b; And the gold 2091, the workmanship 4399 of your settings 8596 and sockets 5345, Was in you. On the day 3117 that you were created 1254a They were prepared 3559.

 28:14 “You were the anointed 4473 cherub 3742 who covers 5526a, And I placed 5414 you [there]. You were on the holy 6944 mountain 2022 of God 430; You walked 1980 in the midst 8432 of the stones 68 of fire 784.

 28:15 “You were blameless 8549 in your ways 1870 From the day 3117 you were created 1254a Until 5704 unrighteousness 5767b was found 4672 in you.

 28:16 “By the abundance 7230 of your trade 7404 You were internally 8432 filled 4390 with violence 2555, And you sinned 2398; Therefore I have cast 2490c you as profane 2490c From the mountain 2022 of God 430. And I have destroyed 6 you, O covering 5526a cherub 3742, From the midst 8432 of the stones 68 of fire 784.

 28:17 “Your heart 3820 was lifted 1361b up because of your beauty 3308; You corrupted 7843 your wisdom 2451 by reason 5921 of your splendor 3314. I cast 7993 you to the ground 776; I put 5414 you before 6440 kings 4428, That they may see 7200 you.

 28:18 “By the multitude 7230 of your iniquities 5771, In the unrighteousness 5766 of your trade 7404 You profaned 2490c your sanctuaries 4720. Therefore I have brought 3318 fire 784 from the midst 8432 of you; It has consumed 398 you, And I have turned 5414 you to ashes 665 on the earth 776 In the eyes 5869 of all 3605 who see 7200 you.

 28:19 “All 3605 who know 3045 you among the peoples 5971a Are appalled 8074 at you; You have become 1961 terrified 1091 And you will cease 369 to be forever 5704 5769.”’”

 28:20 ¶ And the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 came 1961 to me saying 559,

 28:21 “Son 1121 of man 120, set 7760 your face 6440 toward 413 Sidon 6721, prophesy 5012 against 5921 her

 28:22 and say 559, ‘Thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, “Behold 2009, I am against 5921 you, O Sidon 6721, And I will be glorified 3513 in your midst 8432. Then they will know 3045 that I am the LORD 3068 when I execute 6213a judgments 8201 in her, And I will manifest 6942 My holiness 6942 in her.

 28:23 “For I will send 7971 pestilence 1698 to her And blood 1818 to her streets 2351, And the wounded 2491a will fall 5307 in her midst 8432 By the sword 2719 upon her on every 5439 side 5439; Then they will know 3045 that I am the LORD 3068.

 28:24 “And there will be no 3808 more 5750 for the house 1004 of Israel 3478 a prickling 3992 brier 5544 or a painful 3510 thorn 6975 from any 3605 round 5439 about 5439 them who scorned 7751c them; then they will know 3045 that I am the Lord 136 GOD 3068.”

 28:25 ¶ ‘Thus 3541 says 559 the Lord 136 GOD 3068, “When I gather 6908 the house 1004 of Israel 3478 from the peoples 5971a among whom 834 they are scattered 6327a, and will manifest 6942 My holiness 6942 in them in the sight 5869 of the nations 1471, then they will live 3427 in their land 127 which 834 I gave 5414 to My servant 5650 Jacob 3290.

 28:26 “They will live 3427 in it securely 983; and they will build 1129 houses 1004, plant 5193 vineyards 3754 and live 3427 securely 983 when I execute 6213a judgments 8201 upon all 3605 who scorn 7751c them round 5439 about 5439 them. Then they will know 3045 that I am the LORD 3068 their God 430.”’”
