 42:1 ¶
[[For the Chief Musician. Maschil of the sons of Korah.]] As the hart panteth after the water brooks, So panteth my soul after thee, O God. |
|
 42:1 ¶
[[To the chief Musician,ºº
Maschil,ºº
for the sonsº
of Korah.]]º
As the hartº
pantethºº
afterº
the waterº
brooks,º
soº
pantethºº
my soulº
afterº
thee, O God.º |
 42:2
My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: When shall I come and appear before God? |
|
 42:2
My soulº
thirstethºº
for God,º
for the livingº
God:º
whenº
shall I comeºº
and appearºº
beforeº
God?º |
 42:3
My tears have been my food day and night, While they continually say unto me, Where is thy God? |
|
 42:3
My tearsº
have beenº
my meatº
dayº
and night,º
while they continuallyºº
sayºº
untoº
me, Whereº
[is] thy God?º |
 42:4
These things I remember, and pour out my soul within me, How I went with the throng, and led them to the house of God, With the voice of joy and praise, a multitude keeping holyday. |
|
 42:4
When I rememberºº
theseº
[things], I pour outºº
my soulº
inº
me: forº
I had goneºº
with the multitude,º
I wentºº
with them toº
the houseº
of God,º
with the voiceº
of joyº
and praise,º
with a multitudeº
that kept holyday.ºº |
 42:5
Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And [why] art thou disquieted within me? Hope thou in God; for I shall yet praise him [For] the help of his countenance. |
|
 42:5
Whyº
art thou cast down,ºº
O my soul?º
and [why] art thou disquietedºº
inº
me? hopeºº
thou in God:º
forº
I shall yetº
praiseºº
him [for] the helpº
of his countenance.º |
 42:6
O my God, my soul is cast down within me: Therefore do I remember thee from the land of the Jordan, And the Hermons, from the hill Mizar. |
|
 42:6
O my God,º
my soulº
is cast downºº
withinº
me: thereforeºº
will I rememberºº
thee from the landºº
of Jordan,º
and of the Hermonites,º
from the hillºº
Mizar.º |
 42:7
Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterfalls: All thy waves and thy billows are gone over me. |
|
 42:7
Deepº
callethºº
untoº
deepº
at the noiseº
of thy waterspouts:º
allº
thy wavesº
and thy billowsº
are goneºº
overº
me. |
 42:8
[Yet] Jehovah will command his lovingkindness in the day-time; And in the night his song shall be with me, [Even] a prayer unto the God of my life. |
|
 42:8
[Yet] the LORDº
will commandºº
his lovingkindnessº
in the daytime,º
and in the nightº
his songº
[shall be] withº
me, [and] my prayerº
unto the Godº
of my life.º |
 42:9
I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? Why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? |
|
 42:9
I will sayºº
unto Godº
my rock,º
Whyº
hast thou forgottenºº
me? whyº
goººº
I mourningºº
because of the oppressionº
of the enemy?ºº |
 42:10
As with a sword in my bones, mine adversaries reproach me, While they continually say unto me, Where is thy God? |
|
 42:10
[As] with a swordº
in my bones,º
mine enemiesºº
reproachºº
me; while they sayºº
dailyºº
untoº
me, Whereº
[is] thy God?º |
 42:11
Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted within me? Hope thou in God; for I shall yet praise him, [Who is] the help of my countenance, and my God. |
|
 42:11
Whyº
art thou cast down,ºº
O my soul?º
and whyº
art thou disquietedºº
withinº
me? hopeºº
thou in God:º
forº
I shall yetº
praiseºº
him, [who is] the healthº
of my countenance,º
and my God.º |
