 74:1 ¶
[[Maschil of Asaph.]] O God, why hast thou cast [us] off for ever? Why doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture? |
|
 74:1 ¶
[[Maschilºº
of Asaph.]]º
O God,º
whyº
hast thou cast [us] offºº
for ever?º
[why] doth thine angerº
smokeºº
against the sheepº
of thy pasture?º |
 74:2
Remember thy congregation, which thou hast gotten of old, Which thou hast redeemed to be the tribe of thine inheritance; [And] mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt. |
|
 74:2
Rememberºº
thy congregation,º
[which] thou hast purchasedºº
of old;º
the rodº
of thine inheritance,º
[which] thou hast redeemed;ºº
thisº
mountº
Zion,º
wherein thou hast dwelt.ºº |
 74:3
Lift up thy feet unto the perpetual ruins, All the evil that the enemy hath done in the sanctuary. |
|
 74:3
Lift upºº
thy feetº
unto the perpetualº
desolations;º
[even] allº
[that] the enemyºº
hath done wickedlyºº
in the sanctuary.º |
 74:4
Thine adversaries have roared in the midst of thine assembly; They have set up their ensigns for signs. |
|
 74:4
Thine enemiesºº
roarºº
in the midstº
of thy congregations;º
they set upºº
their ensignsº
[for] signs.º |
 74:5
They seemed as men that lifted up Axes upon a thicket of trees. |
|
 74:5
[A man] was famousºº
according as he had lifted upººº
axesº
upon the thickº
trees.º |
 74:6
And now all the carved work thereof They break down with hatchet and hammers. |
|
 74:6
But nowº
they break downºº
the carved workº
thereof at onceº
with axesº
and hammers.º |
 74:7
They have set thy sanctuary on fire; They have profaned the dwelling-place of thy name [by casting it] to the ground. |
|
 74:7
They have castºº
fireº
into thy sanctuary,º
they have defiledºº
[by casting down] the dwelling placeº
of thy nameº
to the ground.º |
 74:8
They said in their heart, Let us make havoc of them altogether: They have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land. |
|
 74:8
They saidºº
in their hearts,º
Let us destroyºº
them together:º
they have burned upºº
allº
the synagoguesº
of Godº
in the land.º |
 74:9
We see not our signs: There is no more any prophet; Neither is there among us any that knoweth how long. |
|
 74:9
We seeºº
notº
our signs:º
[there is] noº
moreº
any prophet:º
neitherº
[is there] amongº
us any that knowethºº
how long.ºº |
 74:10
How long, O God, shall the adversary reproach? Shall the enemy blaspheme thy name for ever? |
|
 74:10
O God,º
how longºº
shall the adversaryº
reproach?ºº
shall the enemyºº
blasphemeºº
thy nameº
for ever?º |
 74:11
Why drawest thou back thy hand, even thy right hand? [Pluck it] out of thy bosom [and] consume [them]. |
|
 74:11
Whyº
withdrawestºº
thou thy hand,º
even thy right hand?º
pluckºº
[it] out ofºº
thy bosom.ºº |
 74:12
Yet God is my King of old, Working salvation in the midst of the earth. |
|
 74:12
For Godº
[is] my Kingº
of old,ºº
workingºº
salvationº
in the midstº
of the earth.º |
 74:13
Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: Thou brakest the heads of the sea-monsters in the waters. |
|
 74:13
Thouº
didst divideºº
the seaº
by thy strength:º
thou brakestºº
the headsº
of the dragonsº
inº
the waters.º |
 74:14
Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces; Thou gavest him to be food to the people inhabiting the wilderness. |
|
 74:14
Thouº
brakestºº
the headsº
of leviathanº
in pieces, [and] gavestºº
him [to be] meatº
to the peopleº
inhabiting the wilderness.º |
 74:15
Thou didst cleave fountain and flood: Thou driedst up mighty rivers. |
|
 74:15
Thouº
didst cleaveºº
the fountainº
and the flood:º
thouº
driedst upºº
mightyº
rivers.º |
 74:16
The day is thine, the night also is thine: Thou hast prepared the light and the sun. |
|
 74:16
The dayº
[is] thine, the nightº
alsoº
[is] thine: thouº
hast preparedºº
the lightº
and the sun.º |
 74:17
Thou hast set all the borders of the earth: Thou hast made summer and winter. |
|
 74:17
Thouº
hast setºº
allº
the bordersº
of the earth:º
thouº
hast madeºº
summerº
and winter.º |
 74:18
Remember this, that the enemy hath reproached, O Jehovah, And that a foolish people hath blasphemed thy name. |
|
 74:18
Rememberºº
this,º
[that] the enemyºº
hath reproached,ºº
O LORD,º
and [that] the foolishº
peopleº
have blasphemedºº
thy name.º |
 74:19
Oh deliver not the soul of thy turtle-dove unto the wild beast: Forget not the life of thy poor for ever. |
|
 74:19
O deliverºº
notº
the soulº
of thy turtledoveº
unto the multitudeº
[of the wicked]: forgetºº
notº
the congregationº
of thy poorº
for ever.º |
 74:20
Have respect unto the covenant; For the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of violence. |
|
 74:20
Have respectºº
unto the covenant:º
forº
the darkº
placesº
of the earthº
are fullºº
of the habitationsº
of cruelty.º |
 74:21
Oh let not the oppressed return ashamed: Let the poor and needy praise thy name. |
|
 74:21
O let notº
the oppressedº
returnºº
ashamed:ºº
let the poorº
and needyº
praiseºº
thy name.º |
 74:22
Arise, O God, plead thine own cause: Remember how the foolish man reproacheth thee all the day. |
|
 74:22
Arise,ºº
O God,º
pleadºº
thine own cause:ºº
rememberºº
howº
the foolish manº
reproachethº
thee daily.ºº |
 74:23
Forget not the voice of thine adversaries: The tumult of those that rise up against thee ascendeth continually. |
|
 74:23
Forgetºº
notº
the voiceº
of thine enemies:ºº
the tumultº
of those that rise upºº
againstº
thee increasethºº
continually.º |
