 13:1 ¶ and he stood upon the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns, and seven heads, and on his horns ten diadems, and upon his heads names of blasphemy.

 13:1 ¶ Andº I stoodºº uponº theº sandº of theº sea,º andº sawºº a beastº rise upºº out ofº theº sea,º havingºº sevenº headsº andº tenº horns,º andº uponº hisºº hornsº tenº crowns,º andº uponº hisºº headsº the nameº of blasphemy.º

 13:2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as [the feet] of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his throne, and great authority.

 13:2 Andº theº beastº whichº I sawºº wasºº likeº untoº a leopard,º andº hisºº feetº were asº [the feet] of a bear,º andº hisºº mouthº asº the mouthº of a lion:º andº theº dragonº gaveºº himº hisºº power,º andº hisºº seat,º andº greatº authority.º

 13:3 And [I saw] one of his heads as though it had been smitten unto death; and his death-stroke was healed: and the whole earth wondered after the beast;

 13:3 Andº I sawºº oneº of hisºº headsº as it wereº woundedºº toº death;º andº hisºº deadlyº woundº was healed:ºº andº allº theº worldº wonderedºººº afterºº theº beast.º

 13:4 and they worshipped the dragon, because he gave his authority unto the beast; and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? And who is able to war with him?

 13:4 Andº they worshippedºº theº dragonº whichº gaveºº powerº unto theº beast:º andº they worshippedºº theº beast,º saying,ºº Whoº [is] likeº untoº theº beast?º whoº is ableºº to make warºº withº him?º

 13:5 and there was given to him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and there was given to him authority to continue forty and two months.

 13:5 Andº there was givenºº unto himº a mouthº speakingºº great thingsº andº blasphemies;º andº powerº was givenºº unto himº to continueºº fortyº [and] twoºº months.º

 13:6 And he opened his mouth for blasphemies against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, [even] them that dwell in the heaven.

 13:6 Andº he openedºº hisºº mouthº inº blasphemyº againstº God,º to blasphemeºº hisºº name,º andº hisºº tabernacle,º andº them that dwellºº inº heaven.º

 13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and there was given to him authority over every tribe and people and tongue and nation.

 13:7 Andº it was givenºº unto himº to makeºº warº withº theº saints,º andº to overcomeºº them:º andº powerº was givenºº himº overº allº kindreds,º andº tongues,º andº nations.º

 13:8 And all that dwell on the earth shall worship him, [every one] whose name hath not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb that hath been slain.

 13:8 Andº allº that dwellºº uponº theº earthº shall worshipºº him,º whoseº namesº areºº notº writtenºº inº theº bookº of lifeº of theº Lambº slainºº fromº the foundationº of the world.º

 13:9 If any man hath an ear, let him hear.

 13:9 If any manº haveºº an ear,º let him hear.ºº

 13:10 If any man [is] for captivity, into captivity he goeth: if any man shall kill with the sword, with the sword must he be killed. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

 13:10 He thatº leadethºº intoº captivityº shall goºº intoº captivity:º he thatº killethºº withº the swordº mustºº beº killedºº withº the sword.º Hereº isºº theº patienceº andº theº faithº of theº saints.º

 13:11 And I saw another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like unto a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

 13:11 Andº I beheldºº anotherº beastº coming upºº out ofº theº earth;º andº he hadºº twoº hornsº likeº a lamb,º andº he spakeºº asº a dragon.º

 13:12 And he exerciseth all the authority of the first beast in his sight. And he maketh the earth and them dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose death-stroke was healed.

 13:12 Andº he exercisethºº allº theº powerº of theº firstº beastº beforeº him,º andº causethºº theº earthº andº them which dwellºº thereinºº toº worshipºº theº firstº beast,º whoseºº deadlyº woundººº was healed.ºº

 13:13 And he doeth great signs, that he should even make fire to come down out of heaven upon the earth in the sight of men.

 13:13 Andº he doethºº greatº wonders,º soº thatº heº makethºº fireº come downºº fromº heavenº onº theº earthº in the sightº of men,º

 13:14 And he deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by reason of the signs which it was given him to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast who hath the stroke of the sword and lived.

 13:14 Andº deceivethºº them that dwellººº onº theº earthº byº [the means of] those miraclesº whichº heº had powerººº to doºº in the sightº of theº beast;º sayingºº to them that dwellºº onº theº earth,º that they should makeºº an imageº to theº beast,º whichº hadºº theº woundº by a sword,º andº did live.ºº

 13:15 And it was given [unto him] to give breath to it, [even] to the image to the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as should not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

 13:15 Andº heº had powerººº to giveºº lifeº unto theº imageº of theº beast,º thatº theº imageº of theº beastº shouldºº bothº speak,ºº andº causeºº that as many asºº wouldººº notº worshipºº theº imageº of theº beastº shouldº be killed.ººº

 13:16 And he causeth all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free and the bond, that there be given them a mark on their right hand, or upon their forehead;

 13:16 Andº he causethºº all,º both smallº andº great,ºº richº andº poor,ºº freeº andº bond,º toºº receiveººº a markº inº theirºº rightº hand,ºº orº inº theirºº foreheads:º

 13:17 and that no man should be able to buy or to sell, save he that hath the mark, [even] the name of the beast or the number of his name.

 13:17 Andº thatº noºº manº mightºº buyºº orº sell,ºº saveº heº that hadºº theº mark,º orº theº nameº of theº beast,º orº theº numberº of hisºº name.º

 13:18 Here is wisdom. He that hath understanding, let him count the number of the beast; for it is the number of a man: and his number is Six hundred and sixty and six.

 13:18 Hereº isºº wisdom.º Let him that hathºº understandingº countºº theº numberº of theº beast:º forº it isºº the numberº of a man;º andº hisºº numberº [is] Six hundred threescore [and] six.ºººº
