 3:1 ¶ And to the angel of the church in Sardis write: These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars: I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and thou art dead.

 3:1 ¶ Andº unto theº angelº of theº churchº inº Sardisº write;ºº These thingsº saithºº he that hathºº theº sevenº Spiritsº of God,º andº theº sevenº stars;º I knowºº thyº works,º thatº thou hastºº a nameº thatº thou livest,ºº andº artºº dead.º

 3:2 Be thou watchful, and establish the things that remain, which were ready to die: for I have found no works of thine perfected before my God.

 3:2 Beºº watchful,ºº andº strengthenºº the things which remain,º thatº areºº readyº to die:ºº forº I haveºº notº foundºº thyº worksº perfectºº beforeº God.º

 3:3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and didst hear; and keep [it], and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

 3:3 Rememberºº thereforeº howº thou hast receivedºº andº heard,ºº andº hold fast,ºº andº repent.ºº Ifººº thereforeº thou shaltºº notºº watch,ºº I will comeºº onº theeº asº a thief,º andº thou shaltºº notº knowºº whatº hourº I will comeºº uponº thee.º

 3:4 But thou hast a few names in Sardis that did not defile their garments: and they shall walk with me in white; for they are worthy.

 3:4 Thou hastºº a fewº namesº evenº inº Sardisº whichº haveºº notº defiledºº theirºº garments;º andº they shall walkºº withº meº inº white:º forº they areºº worthy.º

 3:5 He that overcometh shall thus be arrayed in white garments; and I will in no wise blot his name out of the book of life, and I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

 3:5 He that overcometh,ºº the sameº shall be clothedºº inº whiteº raiment;º andº I willºº notº blot outºº hisºº nameº outº ofº theº bookº of life,º butº I will confessºº hisºº nameº beforeº myº Father,º andº beforeº hisºº angels.º

 3:6 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches.

 3:6 He that hathºº an ear,º let him hearºº whatº theº Spiritº saithºº unto theº churches.º

 3:7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth and none shall shut, and that shutteth and none openeth:

 3:7 Andº to theº angelº of theº churchº inº Philadelphiaº write;ºº These thingsº saithºº he that is holy,º he that is true,º he that hathºº theº keyº of David,º he that openeth,ºº andº no manº shutteth;ºº andº shutteth,ºº andº no manº openeth;ºº

 3:8 I know thy works (behold, I have set before thee a door opened, which none can shut), that thou hast a little power, and didst keep my word, and didst not deny my name.

 3:8 I knowºº thyº works:º behold,ºº I have setºº beforeº theeº an openºº door,º andº no manº canºº shutºº it:º forº thou hastºº a littleº strength,º andº hast keptºº myº word,º andº hastºº notº deniedºº myº name.º

 3:9 Behold, I give of the synagogue of Satan, of them that say they are Jews, and they are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

 3:9 Behold,ºº I will makeºº themº ofº theº synagogueº of Satan,º whichº sayºº theyº areºº Jews,º andº areºº not,º butº do lie;ºº behold,ºº I will makeºº themº toº comeºº andº worshipºº beforeº thyº feet,º andº to knowºº thatº Iº have lovedºº thee.º

 3:10 Because thou didst keep the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of trial, that [hour] which is to come upon the whole world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

 3:10 Becauseº thou hast keptºº theº wordº of myº patience,º I alsoº will keepºº theeº fromº theº hourº of temptation,º whichº shallº comeºººº uponº allº theº world,ºº to tryºº themº that dwellºº uponº theº earth.º

 3:11 I come quickly: hold fast that which thou hast, that no one take thy crown.

 3:11 Behold,ºº I comeºº quickly:º hold that fastºº whichº thou hast,ºº thatº no manº takeºº thyº crown.º

 3:12 He that overcometh, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go out thence no more: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God, and mine own new name.

 3:12 Himº that overcomethºº will I makeºº a pillarº inº theº templeº of myº God,º andº he shall goºº noº moreº out:º andº I will writeºº uponº himº theº nameº of myº God,º andº theº nameº of theº cityº of myº God,º [which is]º newº Jerusalem,º whichºº cometh downºººº out ofº heavenº fromº myº God:º andº [I will write upon him] myº newº name.º

 3:13 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches.

 3:13 He that hathºº an ear,º let him hearºº whatº theº Spiritº saithºº unto theº churches.º

 3:14 And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God:

 3:14 Andº unto theº angelº of theº churchº of the Laodiceansº write;ºº These thingsº saithºº theº Amen,º theº faithfulº andº trueº witness,º theº beginningº of theº creationº of God;º

 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.

 3:15 I knowºº thyº works,º thatº thou artºº neitherº coldº norº hot:º I wouldº thou wertºº coldº orº hot.º

 3:16 So because thou art lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spew thee out of my mouth.

 3:16 Soº thenº becauseº thou artºº lukewarm,º andº neitherº coldº norº hot,º I willºº spueºº theeº out ofº myº mouth.º

 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and have gotten riches, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art the wretched one and miserable and poor and blind and naked:

 3:17 Becauseº thou sayest,ººº I amºº rich,º andº increased with goods,ºº andº haveºº needº of nothing;º andº knowestºº notº thatº thouº artºº wretched,º andº miserable,º andº poor,º andº blind,º andº naked:º

 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold refined by fire, that thou mayest become rich; and white garments, that thou mayest clothe thyself, and [that] the shame of thy nakedness be not made manifest; and eyesalve to anoint thine eyes, that thou mayest see.

 3:18 I counselºº theeº to buyºº ofº meº goldº triedºº inº the fire,º thatº thou mayest be rich;ºº andº whiteº raiment,º thatºº thou mayest be clothed,ºº andº [that] theº shameº of thyº nakednessº doºº notº appear;ºº andº anointºº thineº eyesº with eyesalve,º thatº thou mayest see.ºº

 3:19 As many as I love, I reprove and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

 3:19 As many asºº Iº love,ºº Iº rebukeºº andº chasten:ºº be zealousºº therefore,º andº repent.ºº

 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

 3:20 Behold,ºº I standºº atº theº door,º andº knock:ºº ifº any manº hearºº myº voice,º andº openºº theº door,º I will come inºº toº him,º andº will supºº withº him,º andº heº withº me.º

 3:21 He that overcometh, I will give to him to sit down with me in my throne, as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father in his throne.

 3:21 To himº that overcomethºº will I grantºº to sitºº withº meº inº myº throne,º evenºº asº I alsoº overcame,ºº andº am set downºº withº myº Fatherº inº hisºº throne.º

 3:22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches.

 3:22 He that hathºº an ear,º let him hearºº whatº theº Spiritº saithºº unto theº churches.º
