And when Jabesh{gr.Jabis} the king of Hazor{gr.Asor} heard, he sent to Jobab king of Maron, and to the king of Symoon, and to the king of Aziph, |

And it came to pass,°
when Jabin°

of Hazor°
had heard°°
[those things], that he sent°°
to°
Jobab°
king°
of Madon,°
and to°
the king°
of Shimron,°
and to°
the king°
of Achshaph,° |

and to the kings who were by the great Zidon{gr.Sidon}, to the hill country and to Araba opposite Keneroth, and to the plain, and to Phenaeddor, |

And to°
the kings°
that°
[were] on the north°°
of the mountains,°
and of the plains°
south°
of Chinneroth,°
and in the valley,°
and in the borders°
of Dor°
on the west,°° |

11:3
and to the Canaanites{gr.Chananites} on the coast eastward, and to the Amorites on the coast, and the Hittites{gr.Chettites}, and the Perizzites{gr.Pherezites}, and the Jebusites in the mountain, and the Hivites{gr.Evites}, and those dwelling under [mount] Hermon{gr.Aermon} in the land Massyma. |

[And to] the Canaanite°
on the east°°
and on the west,°°
and [to] the Amorite,°
and the Hittite,°
and the Perizzite,°
and the Jebusite°
in the mountains,°
and [to] the Hivite°
under°
Hermon°
in the land°
of Mizpeh.° |

11:4
And they and their kings with them went forth, as the sand of the sea in multitude, and horses, and very many chariots. |

And they went out,°°
they°
and all°
their hosts°
with°
them, much°
people,°
even as the sand°
that°
[is] upon°
the sea°
shore°
in multitude,°
with horses°
and chariots°
very°
many.° |

11:5
And all the kings assembled in person, and came to the same place, and encamped at the waters of Maron to war with Israel. |

And when all°
these°
kings°
were met together,°°
they came°°
and pitched°°
together°
at°
the waters°
of Merom,°
to fight°°
against°
Israel.° |

11:6 ¶
And the Lord said to Joshua{gr.Jesus}, Be not afraid of them, for to-morrow [at] this time I will put them to flight before Israel: thou shalt hough their horses, and burn their chariots with fire |

Joshua,°
Be not°
afraid°°
because°
of°°
them: for°
to morrow°
about this°
time°
will I°
deliver them up°°°
all°
slain°
before°
Israel:°
thou shalt hough°°°
their horses,°
and burn°°
their chariots°
with fire.° |

And Joshua{gr.Jesus} and all the men of war came upon them at the water of Maron suddenly; and they attacked them in the hill country. |

So Joshua°
came,°°
and all°
the people°
of war°
with°
him, against°
them by°
the waters°
of Merom°
suddenly;°
and they fell°
upon°°
them. |
|
11:8
And the Lord delivered them into the power of Israel; and they smote them and pursued them to great Zidon{gr.Sidon}, and to Maseron, and to the plains of Massoch eastward; and they destroyed them till there was not one of them left that survived. |
|

And Yahweh°
delivered°°
them into the hand°
of Israel,°
who smote°°
them, and chased°°
them unto°
great°
Zidon,°
and unto°
Misrephothmaim,°
and unto°
the valley°
of Mizpeh°
eastward;°
and they smote°°
them, until°
they left°°
them none°

And Joshua{gr.Jesus} did to them, as the Lord commanded him: he houghed their horses, and burned their chariots with fire. |

11:10 ¶
And Joshua{gr.Jesus} returned at that time, and took Hazor{gr.Asor} and her king; now Hazor{gr.Asor} in former time was the chief of these kingdoms. |

And Joshua°

turned back,°°
and took°°°
Hazor,°
and smote°°
the king°
thereof with the sword:°
for°
Hazor°
beforetime°
was the head°
of all°
those°
kingdoms.° |

And they slew with the sword all that breathed in it, and utterly destroyed them all, and there was no living thing left in it; and they burnt Hazor{gr.Asor} with fire. |

And they smote°°°
all°
the souls°
that°
[were] therein with the edge°
of the sword,°
utterly destroying°°
[them]: there was not°
any°
left°°
to breathe:°
and he burnt°°
Hazor°
with fire.° |

And Joshua{gr.Jesus} took all the cities of the kingdoms, and their kings, and slew them with the edge of the sword; and utterly slew them, as Mosheh{gr.Moses} the servant of the Lord commanded. |

the cities°
of those°
kings,°
and all°
the kings°
of them, did Joshua°
take,°°
and smote°°
them with the edge°
of the sword,°
[and] he utterly destroyed°°
them, as°
Moses°
the servant°
of Yahweh°
commanded.°° |

But all the walled cities Israel burnt not; but Israel burnt Hazor{gr.Asor} only. |

But°
[as for] the cities°
that stood°°
still°
in°
their strength,°
Israel°
burned°°
none°
of them, save°°
Hazor°
only;°
[that] did Joshua°
burn.°° |

And the children of Israel took all its spoils to themselves; and they slew all the men with the edge of the sword, until he destroyed them; they left not one of them breathing. |

the spoil°
of these°
cities,°
and the cattle,°
the children°
of Israel°
took for a prey°°
unto themselves; but°°
every°
man°
they smote°°
with the edge°
of the sword,°
until°
they had destroyed°°
them, neither°
left°°
they any°
to breathe.° |

As the Lord commanded his servant Mosheh{gr.Moses}, even so Mosheh{gr.Moses} commanded Joshua{gr.Jesus}; and so Joshua{gr.Jesus} did, he transgressed no precept of all that Mosheh{gr.Moses} commanded him. |

of Goshen,°
and the valley,°

and the mountain°

from the mountain of Chelcha, and that which goes up to Seir, and as far as Balagad, and the plains of Lebanon{gr.Libanus}, under mount Hermon{gr.Aermon}; and he took all their kings, and destroyed, and slew them. |

that goeth up°°
to Seir,°
even unto°
Baalgad°
in the valley°
of Lebanon°

Hermon:°
and all°
their kings°
he took,°°
and smote°°
them, and slew°°

And for many days Joshua{gr.Jesus} waged war with these kings. |

And there was no city which Israel took not; they took all in war. |

made peace°°
with°
the children°
of Israel,°
save°
the Hivites°
the inhabitants°°
of Gibeon:°°

[other] they took°°
in battle.° |

For it was of the Lord to harden their hearts to go forth to war against Israel, that they might be utterly destroyed, that mercy should not be granted to them, but that they should be utterly destroyed, as the Lord said to Mosheh{gr.Moses}. |

that they should come against°°°
Israel°
in battle,°
that°
he might destroy°
them utterly,°°
[and] that they might have°

favour,°

11:21 ¶
And Joshua{gr.Jesus} came at that time, and utterly destroyed the Anakim{gr.Enakim} out of the hill country, from Hebron{gr.Chebron} and from Debir{gr.Dabir}, and from Anaboth, and from all the race of Israel, and from all the mountain of Judah{gr.Juda} with their cities; and Joshua{gr.Jesus} utterly destroyed them. |

And at that°

the Anakims°
from°
the mountains,°
from°
Hebron,°
from°
Debir,°
from°
Anab,°
and from all°°
the mountains°
of Judah,°

the mountains°
of Israel:°
Joshua°
destroyed°
them utterly°°
with°
their cities.° |

There was not [any one] left of the Anakim{gr.Enakim} by the children of Israel, only there was left of them in Gaza, and in Gath, and in Aseldo. |

There was none°
of the Anakims°

in the land°
of the children°
of Israel:°
only°
in Gaza,°
in Gath,°
and in Ashdod,°
there remained.°° |

And Joshua{gr.Jesus} took all the land, as the Lord commanded Mosheh{gr.Moses}; and Joshua{gr.Jesus} gave them for an inheritance to Israel by division according to their tribes; and the land ceased from war. |
