  3:1 ¶
And Joshua{gr.Jesus} rose up early in the morning, and departed from Sattin; and they came as far as Jordan, and lodged there before they crossed over. |

from Shittim,ºº
and cameºº
toº
Jordan,º
heº
and allº
the childrenº
of Israel,º
and lodgedºº
thereº
beforeº
they passed over.ºº |

And it came to pass after three days, [that] the scribes went through the camp; |

And it came to passº

days,º
that the officersºº
wentºº
throughº
the host;º |

3:3
and they charged the people, saying, When ye shall see the ark of the covenant of the Lord our God, and our priests and the Levites bearing it, ye shall depart from your places, and ye shall go after it. |

And they commandedººº
the people,º
saying,ºº
When ye seeººº
the arkº
of the covenantº
of Yahwehº
your Elohim,º
and the priestsº
the Levitesº
bearingºº
it, then yeº
shall removeºº
from your place,ºº
and goºº
afterº
it. |

3:4
But let there be a distance between you and it; ye shall stand as much as two thousand cubits [from it]. Do not draw nigh to it, that ye may know the way which ye are to go; for ye have not gone the way before. |

there shall beº
a spaceº
betweenº
you and it, about two thousandº
cubitsº
by measure:º
come not nearººº
untoº
it, thatºº
ye may knowººº
the wayº
by whichº
ye must go:ººº
forº
ye have notº
passedºº
[this] wayº
heretofore.ººº |

And Joshua{gr.Jesus} said to the people, Sanctify yourselves against to-morrow, for to-morrow the Lord will do wonders among you. |

And Joshuaº

the people,º
Sanctifyºº
yourselves:º
forº
to morrowº
Yahwehº
will doºº
wondersºº
amongº
you. |

And Joshua{gr.Jesus} said to the priests, Take up the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and go before the people: and the priests took up the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and went before the people. |

untoº
the priests,º
saying,ºº
Take upººº
the arkº
of the covenant,º
and pass overºº
beforeº
the people.º
And they took upººº
the arkº
of the covenant,º
and wentººº
beforeº
the people.º |

3:7 ¶
And the Lord said to Joshua{gr.Jesus}, This day do I begin to exalt thee before all the children of Israel, that they may know that as I was with Mosheh{gr.Moses}, so will I also be with thee. |

Thisº
dayº
will I beginºº
to magnifyºº
thee in the sightº
of allº
Israel,º
thatº
they may knowºº
that,º
asº
I wasº
withº
Moses,º
[so] I will beº

And now charge the priests that bear the ark of the covenant, saying, As soon as ye shall enter on a part of the water of Jordan, then ye shall stand in Jordan. |

And thouº
shalt commandººº
the priestsº
that bearºº
the arkº
of the covenant,º
saying,ºº
When ye are comeºº
toº
the brinkº
of the waterº
of Jordan,º
ye shall stand stillºº
in Jordan.º |

3:9 ¶
And Joshua{gr.Jesus} said to the children of Israel, Come hither, and hearken to the word of the Lord our God. |

And Joshuaº
saidºº
untoº
the childrenº
of Israel,º
Comeº
hither,ººº
and hearººº
the wordsº
of Yahwehº
your Elohim.º |

3:10
Hereby ye shall know that the living God [is] among you, and will utterly destroy from before our face the Canaanite{gr.Chananite}, and the Hittite{gr.Chettite} and Perizzite{gr.Pherezite}, and the Hivite{gr.Evite}, and the Amorite, and the Girgashite{gr.Gergesite}, and the Jebusite. |

And Joshuaº

Herebyº
ye shall knowºº
thatº
the livingº
Elº
[is] amongº
you, and [that] he will without failºº
drive outºº
from beforeºº
youº
the Canaanites,º
and the Hittites,º
and the Hivites,º
and the Perizzites,º
and the Girgashites,º
and the Amorites,º
and the Jebusites.º |

Behold, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth passes over Jordan. |

of the covenantº
of Adonº
of allº
the earthº
passeth overºº
beforeº
you into Jordan.º |

Choose for yourselves twelve men of the sons of Israel, one of each tribe. |

Nowº
therefore takeºº
you twelveºº
menº
out of the tribesºº
of Israel,º
out of everyº
tribeº
a man.ººº |

3:13
And it shall come to pass, when the feet of the priests that bear the ark of the covenant of the Lord of the whole earth rest in the water of Jordan, the water of Jordan [below] shall fail, and the water coming down from above shall stop. |
|

And it shall come to pass,º
as soon as the solesº
of the feetº
of the priestsº
that bearºº
the arkº
of Yahweh,º
Adonº
of allº
the earth,º
shall restºº
in the watersº
of Jordan,º
[that] the watersº
of Jordanº
shall be cut offºº
[from] the watersº
that come downºº
from above;ºº
and they shall standºº
upon anº
heap.º |

3:14 ¶
And the people removed from their tents to cross over Jordan, and the priests bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord before the people. |

3:14 ¶
And it came to pass,º
when the peopleº
removedºº
from their tents,ºº
to pass overººº
Jordan,º
and the priestsº
bearingºº
the arkº
of the covenantº
beforeº
the people;º |
|
3:15
And when the priests that bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord entered upon Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord were dipped in part of the water of Jordan; (now Jordan overflowed all its banks about the time of wheat harvest:) |

And as they that bareºº
the arkº
were comeºº
untoº
Jordan,º
and the feetº
of the priestsº
that bareºº
the arkº
were dippedºº
in the brimº
of the water,º
(for Jordanº
overflowethººº
allº
his banksº
allº
the timeº
of harvest,)º |

then the waters that came down from above stopped; there stood one solid heap very far off, as far as the region of Kariathiarim, and the lower part came down to the sea of Araba, the salt sea, till it completely failed; and the people stood opposite Jericho. |

That the watersº
which came downºº
from aboveºº
stoodºº
[and] rose upºº
upon anº
heapº
veryº
farºº
from the cityº
Adam,ºº
thatº
[is] besideºº
Zaretan:º
and those that came downºº
towardº
the seaº
of the plain,º
[even] the saltº
sea,º
failed,ºº
[and] were cut off:ºº
and the peopleº
passed overºº
right againstº
Jericho.º |

And the priests that bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord stood on dry land in the midst of Jordan; and all the children of Israel went through on dry land, until all the people had completely gone over Jordan. |

And the priestsº

of Yahwehº
stoodºº
firmºº
on dry groundº
in the midstº
of Jordan,º
and allº
the Israelitesº
passed overºº
on dry ground,º
untilºº
allº
the peopleº
were passedºº
cleanºº
overººº
