 15:1 ¶ Now I make known unto you brethren, the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye received, wherein also ye stand,

 15:1 ¶ Moreover,º brethren,º I declareºº unto youº theº gospelº whichº I preachedºº unto you,º whichº alsoº ye have received,ºº andº whereinºº ye stand;ºº

 15:2 by which also ye are saved, if ye hold fast the word which I preached unto you, except ye believed in vain.

 15:2 Byº whichº alsoº ye are saved,ºº ifº ye keepºº in memoryº whatºº Iº preachedºº unto you,º unlessºº ye have believedºº in vain.º

 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which also I received: that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

 15:3 Forº I deliveredºº unto youº first of allºº that whichº Iºº alsoº received,ºº howº thatº Christº diedºº forº ourº sinsº accordingº to theº scriptures;º

 15:4 and that he was buried; and that he hath been raised on the third day according to the scriptures;

 15:4 Andº thatº he was buried,ºº andº thatº he rose againºº theº thirdºº dayº accordingº to theº scriptures:º

 15:5 and that he appeared to Cephas; then to the twelve;

 15:5 Andº thatº he was seenºº of Cephas,º thenº of theº twelve:º

 15:6 then he appeared to above five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain until now, but some are fallen asleep;

 15:6 After that,º he was seenºº of aboveº five hundredº brethrenº at once;º ofº whomº theº greater partº remainºº untoº this present,º butº someºº areº fallen asleep.ºº

 15:7 then he appeared to James; then to all the apostles;

 15:7 After that,º he was seenºº of James;º thenº of allº theº apostles.º

 15:8 and last of all, as to the [child] untimely born, he appeared to me also.

 15:8 Andº lastº of allº he was seenºº of me also,º asº of one born out of due time.º

 15:9 For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

 15:9 Forº Iº amºº theº leastº of theº apostles,º thatº amºº notº meetº to be calledºº an apostle,º becauseº I persecutedºº theº churchº of God.º

 15:10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not found vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

 15:10 Butº by the graceº of Godº I amºº whatº I am:ºº andº hisºº graceº whichº [was bestowed] uponº meº wasºº notº in vain;º butº I labouredºº more abundantlyº than theyº all:º yetº notº I,º butº theº graceº of Godº whichº was withº me.º

 15:11 Whether then [it be] I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed.

 15:11 Thereforeº whetherº [it were] Iº orº they,º soº we preach,ºº andº soº ye believed.ºº

 15:12 Now if Christ is preached that he hath been raised from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?

 15:12 Nowº ifº Christº be preachedºº thatº he roseºº fromº the dead,º howº sayºº someº amongº youº thatº there isºº noº resurrectionº of the dead?º

 15:13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, neither hath Christ been raised:

 15:13 Butº ifº there beºº noº resurrectionº of the dead,º thenºº isºº Christº notº risen:ºº

 15:14 and if Christ hath not been raised, then is our preaching vain, your faith also is vain.

 15:14 Andº ifº Christº beºº notº risen,ºº thenº [is] ourº preachingº vain,º andºº yourº faithº [is]º alsoº vain.º

 15:15 Yea, we are found false witnesses of God; because we witnessed of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead are not raised.

 15:15 Yea,º andº we are foundºº false witnessesº of God;º becauseº we have testifiedºº ofº Godº thatº he raised upºº Christ:º whomº he raisedºº notº up,ººº ifº so beº thatºº the deadº riseºº not.º

 15:16 For if the dead are not raised, neither hath Christ been raised:

 15:16 Forº ifº the deadº riseºº not,º then isºº notº Christº raised:ºº

 15:17 and if Christ hath not been raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.

 15:17 Andº ifº Christº beºº notº raised,ºº yourº faithº [is] vain;º ye areºº yetº inº yourº sins.º

 15:18 Then they also that are fallen asleep in Christ have perished.

 15:18 Thenº they alsoº which are fallen asleepººº inº Christº are perished.ºº

 15:19 If we have only hoped in Christ in this life, we are of all men most pitiable.

 15:19 Ifº inº thisº lifeº onlyº we haveº hopeºººº inº Christ,º we areºº of allº menº most miserable.º

 15:20 But now hath Christ been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of them that are asleep.

 15:20 Butº nowº isºº Christº risenºº fromº the dead,º [and] becomeºº the firstfruitsº of them that slept.ºº

 15:21 For since by man [came] death, by man [came] also the resurrection of the dead.

 15:21 Forº sinceº byº manº [came] death,º byº manº [came] alsoº the resurrectionº of the dead.º

 15:22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.

 15:22 Forº asº inº Adamº allº die,ºº evenº soº inº Christº shallºº allº be made alive.ºº

 15:23 But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; then they that are Christ's, at his coming.

 15:23 Butº every manº inº his ownº order:º Christº the firstfruits;º afterwardº theyº that areº Christ'sº atº hisºº coming.º

 15:24 Then [cometh] the end, when he shall deliver up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have abolished all rule and all authority and power.

 15:24 Thenº [cometh] theº end,º whenº he shall have delivered upºº theº kingdomº to God,º evenº the Father;º whenº he shall have put downºº allº ruleº andº allº authorityº andº power.º

 15:25 For he must reign, till he hath put all his enemies under his feet.

 15:25 Forº heº mustºº reign,ºº tillºº heºº hath putººº allº enemiesº underº hisºº feet.º

 15:26 The last enemy that shall be abolished is death.

 15:26 The lastº enemyº [that] shall be destroyedºº [is] death.º

 15:27 For, He put all things in subjection under his feet. But when he saith, All things are put in subjection, it is evident that he is excepted who did subject all things unto him.

 15:27 Forº he hath putºº all thingsº underº hisºº feet.º Butº whenº he saithººº all thingsº are put underºº [him, it is] manifestº thatº he is excepted,º which did putºº all thingsº underººº him.º

 15:28 And when all things have been subjected unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subjected to him that did subject all things unto him, that God may be all in all.

 15:28 Andº whenº all thingsº shall be subduedºº untoº him,º thenº shallºº theº Sonº alsoº himselfºº be subjectºº unto him that putºº all thingsº underººº him,º thatº Godº may beºº allº inº all.º

 15:29 Else what shall they do that are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why then are they baptized for them?

 15:29 Elseº whatº shall they doºº which are baptizedºº forº theº dead,º ifº the deadº riseºº notº at all?º whyºº are they thenº baptizedºº forº theº dead?º

 15:30 Why do we also stand in jeopardy every hour?

 15:30 Andº whyº standºº weº in jeopardyººº everyº hour?º

 15:31 I protest by that glorifying in you, brethren, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.

 15:31 I protestº byº yourºº rejoicingºº whichº I haveºº inº Christº Jesusº ourº Lord,º I dieºº daily.ºº

 15:32 If after the manner of men I fought with beasts at Ephesus, what doth it profit me? If the dead are not raised, let us eat and drink, for to-morrow we die.

 15:32 Ifº after the mannerº of menº I have fought with beastsºº atº Ephesus,º whatº advantagethº itº me,º ifº the deadº riseºº not?º let us eatºº andº drink;ºº forº to morrowº we die.ºº

 15:33 Be not deceived: Evil companionships corrupt good morals.

 15:33 Beºº notº deceived:ºº evilº communicationsº corruptºº goodº manners.º

 15:34 Awake to soberness righteously, and sin not; for some have no knowledge of God: I speak [this] to move you to shame.

 15:34 Awakeºº to righteousness,º andº sinººº not;º forº someº haveºº not the knowledgeºº of God:º I speakºº [this] toº yourº shame.º

 15:35 But some one will say, How are the dead raised? and with what manner of body do they come?

 15:35 Butº someº [man] will say,ºº Howº areºº theº deadº raised up?ºº andº with whatº bodyº do they come?ºº

 15:36 Thou foolish one, that which thou thyself sowest is not quickened except it die:

 15:36 [Thou] fool,º that whichº thouº sowestºº isºº notº quickened,ºº exceptº it die:ºº

 15:37 and that which thou sowest, thou sowest not the body that shall be, but a bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other kind;

 15:37 Andº that whichº thou sowest,ºº thou sowestºº notº that bodyº that shall be,ºº butº bareº grain,ºº it may chanceººº of wheat,º orº of someº otherº [grain]:

 15:38 but God giveth it a body even as it pleased him, and to each seed a body of its own.

 15:38 Butº Godº givethºº itº a bodyº asº it hath pleasedº him,ºº andº to everyº seedº his ownº body.º

 15:39 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one [flesh] of men, and another flesh of beasts, and another flesh of birds, and another of fishes.

 15:39 Allº fleshº [is] notº theº sameº flesh:º butºº [there is] oneº [kindº of] fleshº of men,ºº anotherº fleshº of beasts,ºº anotherº of fishes,º [and]º anotherº of birds.º

 15:40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the [glory] of the terrestrial is another.

 15:40 [There are] alsoº celestialº bodies,º andº bodiesº terrestrial:º butºº theº gloryº of theº celestialº [is]º one,º andº theº [glory] of theº terrestrialº [is] another.º

 15:41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differeth from another star in glory.

 15:41 [There is] oneº gloryº of the sun,º andº anotherº gloryº of the moon,º andº anotherº gloryº of the stars:º forº [one] starº differeth fromºº [another] starº inº glory.º

 15:42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:

 15:42 Soº alsoº [is] theº resurrectionº of theº dead.º It is sownºº inº corruption;º it is raisedºº inº incorruption:º

 15:43 it is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:

 15:43 It is sownºº inº dishonour;º it is raisedºº inº glory:º it is sownºº inº weakness;º it is raisedºº inº power:º

 15:44 it is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual [body].

 15:44 It is sownºº a naturalº body;º it is raisedºº a spiritualº body.º There isºº a naturalº body,º andº there isºº a spiritualº body.º

 15:45 So also it is written, The first man Adam became a living soul. The last Adam [became] a life-giving spirit.

 15:45 Andº soº it is written,ºº Theº firstº manº Adamº was madeººº aº livingºº soul;º theº lastº Adamº [was made]º a quickeningºº spirit.º

 15:46 Howbeit that is not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; then that which is spiritual.

 15:46 Howbeitº that [was] notº firstº which is spiritual,º butº that which is natural;º and afterwardº that which is spiritual.º

 15:47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is of heaven.

 15:47 Theº firstº manº [is] ofº the earth,º earthy:º theº secondº manº [is] theº Lordº fromº heaven.º

 15:48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.

 15:48 Asº [is] theº earthy,º suchº [are] they alsoº that are earthy:ºº andº asº [is]º theº heavenly,º suchº [are] theyºº alsoº that are heavenly.ºº

 15:49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

 15:49 Andº asº we have borneºº theº imageº of theº earthy,º we shallºº alsoº bearºº theº imageº of theº heavenly.º

 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

 15:50 Nowº thisº I say,ºº brethren,º thatº fleshº andº bloodº cannotººº inheritºº the kingdomº of God;º neitherº dothºº corruptionº inheritºº incorruption.º

 15:51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We all shall not sleep, but we shall all be changed,

 15:51 Behold,ºº I shewºº youº a mystery;º We shallºº notº allºº sleep,ºº butº we shallºº allº be changed,ºº

 15:52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

 15:52 Inº a moment,º inº the twinklingº of an eye,º atº theº lastº trump:º forº the trumpet shall sound,ºº andº theº deadº shall be raisedºº incorruptible,º andº weº shall be changed.ºº

 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

 15:53 Forº thisº corruptibleº mustºº put onºº incorruption,º andº thisº mortalº [must] put onºº immortality.º

 15:54 But when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

 15:54 Soº whenº thisº corruptibleº shall have put onºº incorruption,º andº thisº mortalº shall have put onºº immortality,º thenº shall be brought to passºº theº sayingº that is written,ºº Deathº is swallowed upºº inº victory.º

 15:55 O death, where is thy victory? O death, where is thy sting?

 15:55 O death,º whereº [is] thyº sting?º O grave,º whereº [is] thyº victory?º

 15:56 The sting of death is sin; and the power of sin is the law:

 15:56 º Theº stingº of deathº [is] sin;º andº theº strengthº of sinº [is] theº law.º

 15:57 but thanks be to God, who giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

 15:57 Butº thanksº [be] to God,º whichº givethºº usº theº victoryº throughº ourº Lordº Jesusº Christ.º

 15:58 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not vain in the Lord.

 15:58 Therefore,º myº belovedº brethren,º beº yeºº stedfast,º unmoveable,º alwaysº aboundingºº inº theº workº of theº Lord,º forasmuch as ye knowºº thatº yourº labourº isºº notº in vainº inº the Lord.º
