 28:1 ¶ And Däwið דָּוִדº assembledººº allº the princesº of Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל,º the princesº of the tribes,º and the captainsº of the companiesº that ministeredººº to the kingº by course,º and the captainsº over the thousands,º and captainsº over the hundreds,º and the stewardsº over allº the substanceº and possessionº of the king,º and of his sons,º withº the officers,º and with the mighty men,º and with allº the valiantº men,ºº untoº Yærûšälaim יְרוּשָׁלִַם.º

 28:1 ¶ And Dawid assembled all the princes of Yisrael, the princes of the tribes, and the captains of the companies that ministered to the king by course, and the captains over the thousands, and captains over the hundreds, and the stewards over all the substance and possession of the king, and of his sons, with the officers, and with the mighty men, and with all the valiant men, unto Yerushalaim.

 28:2 Then Däwið דָּוִדº the kingº stood upºº uponº his feet,º and said,ºº Hearºº me, my brethren,º and my people:º [As for me], Iº [had] inº mine heartº to buildºº an houseº of restº for the arkº of the covenantº of Yähwè יָהוֶה,º and for the footstoolºº of our ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים,º and had made readyºº for the building:ºº

 28:2 Then Dawid the king stood up upon his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people: [As for me], I [had] in mine heart to build an house of rest for the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, and for the footstool of our Elohim, and had made ready for the building:

 28:3 But ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº saidºº unto me, Thou shalt notº buildºº an houseº for my name,º becauseº thouº [hast been] a manº of war,º and hast shedºº blood.º

 28:3 But Elohim said unto me, Thou shalt not build an house for my name, because thou [hast been] a man of war, and hast shed blood.

 28:4 Howbeit Yähwè יָהוֶהº ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº of Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵלº choseºº me before allºº the houseº of my fatherº to beº kingº overº Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵלº for ever:º forº he hath chosenºº Yæhûðà יְהוּדָהº [to be] the ruler;º and of the houseº of Yæhûðà יְהוּדָה,º the houseº of my father;º and among the sonsº of my fatherº he likedºº me to make [me] kingºº overº allº Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל:º

 28:4 Howbeit Yahweh Elohim of Yisrael chose me before all the house of my father to be king over Yisrael for ever: for he hath chosen Yehudah [to be] the ruler; and of the house of Yehudah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he liked me to make [me] king over all Yisrael:

 28:5 And of allºº my sons,º (forº Yähwè יָהוֶהº hath givenºº me manyº sons,)º he hath chosenºº Šælömò שְׁלֹמֹהº my sonº to sitºº uponº the throneº of the kingdomº of Yähwè יָהוֶהº overº Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל.º

 28:5 And of all my sons, (for Yahweh hath given me many sons,) he hath chosen Shelomoh my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of Yahweh over Yisrael.

 28:6 And he saidºº unto me, Šælömò שְׁלֹמֹהº thy son,º heº shall buildºº my houseº and my courts:º forº I have chosenºº him [to be] my son,º and Iº will beº his father.º

 28:6 And he said unto me, Shelomoh thy son, he shall build my house and my courts: for I have chosen him [to be] my son, and I will be his father.

 28:7 Moreover I will establishººº his kingdomº for ever,ºº ifº he be constantºº to doºº my commandmentsº and my judgments,º as at thisº day.º

 28:7 Moreover I will establish his kingdom for ever, if he be constant to do my commandments and my judgments, as at this day.

 28:8 Nowº therefore in the sightº of allº Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵלº the congregationº of Yähwè יָהוֶה,º and in the audienceº of our ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים,º keepºº and seekºº for allº the commandmentsº of Yähwè יָהוֶהº your ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים:º thatº ye may possessººº this goodº land,º and leave [it] for an inheritanceºº for your childrenº afterº you forº ever.ºº

 28:8 Now therefore in the sight of all Yisrael the congregation of Yahweh, and in the audience of our Elohim, keep and seek for all the commandments of Yahweh your Elohim: that ye may possess this good land, and leave [it] for an inheritance for your children after you for ever.

 28:9 ¶ And thou,º Šælömò שְׁלֹמֹהº my son,º knowºº thouº the ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº of thy father,º and serveºº him with a perfectº heartº and with a willingº mind:º forº Yähwè יָהוֶהº searchethºº allº hearts,º and understandethºº allº the imaginationsº of the thoughts:º ifº thou seekºº him, he will be foundºº of thee; but ifº thou forsakeºº him, he will cast thee offºº for ever.ºº

 28:9 ¶ And thou, Shelomoh my son, know thou the Elohim of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for Yahweh searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.

 28:10 Take heedºº now;º forº Yähwè יָהוֶהº hath chosenºº thee to buildºº an houseº for the sanctuary:º be strong,ºº and doºº [it].

 28:10 Take heed now; for Yahweh hath chosen thee to build an house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do [it].

 28:11 ¶ Then Däwið דָּוִדº gaveºº to Šælömò שְׁלֹמֹהº his sonºº the patternº of the porch,º and of the housesº thereof, and of the treasuriesº thereof, and of the upper chambersº thereof, and of the innerº parloursº thereof, and of the placeº of the mercy seat,º

 28:11 ¶ Then Dawid gave to Shelomoh his son the pattern of the porch, and of the houses thereof, and of the treasuries thereof, and of the upper chambers thereof, and of the inner parlours thereof, and of the place of the mercy seat,

 28:12 And the patternº of allº thatº he hadº by the spirit,º ofº the courtsº of the houseº of Yähwè יָהוֶה,º and of allº the chambersº round about,º of the treasuriesº of the houseº of ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים,º and of the treasuriesº of the dedicated things:º

 28:12 And the pattern of all that he had by the spirit, of the courts of the house of Yahweh, and of all the chambers round about, of the treasuries of the house of Elohim, and of the treasuries of the dedicated things:

 28:13 Also for the coursesº of the priestsº and the Læwiyyim לְוִיִּם,º and for allº the workº of the serviceº of the houseº of Yähwè יָהוֶה,º and for allº the vesselsº of serviceº in the houseº of Yähwè יָהוֶה.º

 28:13 Also for the courses of the priests and the Lewiyyim, and for all the work of the service of the house of Yahweh, and for all the vessels of service in the house of Yahweh.

 28:14 [He gave] of goldº by weightº for [things] of gold,º for allº instrumentsº of all manner of service;º [silver also] for allº instrumentsº of silverº by weight,º for allº instrumentsº of every kind of service:º

 28:14 [He gave] of gold by weight for [things] of gold, for all instruments of all manner of service; [silver also] for all instruments of silver by weight, for all instruments of every kind of service:

 28:15 Even the weightº for the candlesticksº of gold,º and for their lampsº of gold,º by weightº for every candlestick,º and for the lampsº thereof: and for the candlesticksº of silverº by weight,º [both] for the candlestick,º and [also] for the lampsº thereof, according to the useº of every candlestick.º

 28:15 Even the weight for the candlesticks of gold, and for their lamps of gold, by weight for every candlestick, and for the lamps thereof: and for the candlesticks of silver by weight, [both] for the candlestick, and [also] for the lamps thereof, according to the use of every candlestick.

 28:16 And by weightº [he gave] goldº for the tablesº of shewbread,º for every table;º and [likewise] silverº for the tablesº of silver:º

 28:16 And by weight [he gave] gold for the tables of shewbread, for every table; and [likewise] silver for the tables of silver:

 28:17 Also pureº goldº for the fleshhooks,º and the bowls,º and the cups:º and for the goldenº basonsº [he gave gold] by weightº for every bason;º and [likewise silver] by weightº for every basonº of silver:º

 28:17 Also pure gold for the fleshhooks, and the bowls, and the cups: and for the golden basons [he gave gold] by weight for every bason; and [likewise silver] by weight for every bason of silver:

 28:18 And for the altarº of incenseº refinedºº goldº by weight;º and goldº for the patternº of the chariotº of the cherubims,º that spread outºº [their wings], and coveredºº the arkº of the covenantº of Yähwè יָהוֶה.º

 28:18 And for the altar of incense refined gold by weight; and gold for the pattern of the chariot of the cherubims, that spread out [their wings], and covered the ark of the covenant of Yahweh.

 28:19 Allº [this, said Däwið דָּוִד], Yähwè יָהוֶהº made me understandºº in writingº by [his] handºº uponº me, [even] allº the worksº of this pattern.º

 28:19 All [this, said Dawid], Yahweh made me understand in writing by [his] hand upon me, [even] all the works of this pattern.

 28:20 And Däwið דָּוִדº saidºº to Šælömò שְׁלֹמֹהº his son,º Be strongºº and of good courage,ºº and doºº [it]: fearºº not,º norº be dismayed:ºº forº Yähwè יָהוֶהº ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים,º [even] my ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים,º [will be] withº thee; he will notº failºº thee, norº forsakeºº thee, untilº thou hast finishedºº allº the workº for the serviceº of the houseº of Yähwè יָהוֶה.º

 28:20 And Dawid said to Shelomoh his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do [it]: fear not, nor be dismayed: for Yahweh Elohim, [even] my Elohim, [will be] with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of Yahweh.

 28:21 And, behold,º the coursesº of the priestsº and the Læwiyyim לְוִיִּם,º [even they shall be with thee] for allº the serviceº of the houseº of ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים:º and [there shall be] withº thee for all mannerº of workmanshipº everyº willingº skilful man,º for any mannerº of service:º also the princesº and allº the peopleº [will be] whollyº at thy commandment.º

 28:21 And, behold, the courses of the priests and the Lewiyyim, [even they shall be with thee] for all the service of the house of Elohim: and [there shall be] with thee for all manner of workmanship every willing skilful man, for any manner of service: also the princes and all the people [will be] wholly at thy commandment.
