the prophet,°

me that [I should be] king°
over°
this°

And Yorovam said to his wife, Arise, I pray thee, and disguise thyself, that thou be not known to be the wife of Yorovam; and get thee to Shiloh: behold, there [is] Achiyyah the prophet, which told me that [I should be] king over this people. |

and cracknels,°
and a cruse°
of honey,°
and go°°
to°
him: he°
shall tell°°
thee what°
shall become°
of the child.° |

And Yorovam's wife did so, and arose, and went to Shiloh, and came to the house of Achiyyah. But Achiyyah could not see; for his eyes were set by reason of his age. |

her: for it shall be,°
when she cometh in,°°

shall feign herself [to be] another°°
[woman].° |

And Yahweh said unto Achiyyah, Behold, the wife of Yorovam cometh to ask a thing of thee for her son; for he [is] sick: thus and thus shalt thou say unto her: for it shall be, when she cometh in, that she shall feign herself [to be] another [woman]. |

And it was [so], when Achiyyah heard the sound of her feet, as she came in at the door, that he said, Come in, thou wife of Yorovam; why feignest thou thyself [to be] another? for I [am] sent to thee [with] heavy [tidings]. |

Go, tell Yorovam, Thus saith Yahweh Elohim of Yisrael, Forasmuch as I exalted thee from among the people, and made thee prince over my people Yisrael, |

the kingdom°

from the house°°

דָּוִד,°
and gave°°
it thee: and [yet] thou hast not°
been°
as my servant°

kept°°
my commandments,°

me with all°
his heart,°
to do°°
[that] only°
[which was] right°
in mine eyes;° |

And rent the kingdom away from the house of Dawid, and gave it thee: and [yet] thou hast not been as my servant Dawid, who kept my commandments, and who followed me with all his heart, to do [that] only [which was] right in mine eyes; |

thee: for thou hast gone°°°

and molten images,°
to provoke me to anger,°°
and hast cast°°
me behind°

Therefore,°
behold,°
I will bring°°
evil°

the house°

and will cut off°°
from
Yorov`äm
יָרָבעָם°
him that pisseth°°
against the wall,°
[and] him that is shut up°°
and left°°
in
Yiŝrä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל,°
and will take away°°
the remnant°
of the house°
of
Yorov`äm
יָרָבעָם,°
as°
a man taketh away°°
dung,°
till°
it be all gone.°° |

Therefore, behold, I will bring evil upon the house of Yorovam, and will cut off from Yorovam him that pisseth against the wall, [and] him that is shut up and left in Yisrael, and will take away the remnant of the house of Yorovam, as a man taketh away dung, till it be all gone. |

shall the fowls°
of the air°

And all Yisrael shall mourn for him, and bury him: for he only of Yorovam shall come to the grave, because in him there is found [some] good thing toward Yahweh Elohim of Yisrael in the house of Yorovam. |

Moreover Yahweh shall raise him up a king over Yisrael, who shall cut off the house of Yorovam that day: but what? even now. |

For

a reed°
is shaken°°
in the water,°
and he shall root up°°°

to their fathers,°

them beyond°°
the river,°

they have made°°°
their groves,°
provoking

For Yahweh shall smite Yisrael, as a reed is shaken in the water, and he shall root up Yisrael out of this good land, which he gave to their fathers, and shall scatter them beyond the river, because they have made their groves, provoking Yahweh to anger. |

And he shall give°°

of the sins°

Yorov`äm
יָרָבעָם,°
who°
did sin,°°

And he shall give Yisrael up because of the sins of Yorovam, who did sin, and who made Yisrael to sin. |

arose,°°
and departed,°°°
and came°°

תִּרצָה:°
[and] when she°
came°°
to the threshold°
of the door,°
the child°
died;°° |

And Yorovam's wife arose, and departed, and came to Tirtzah: [and] when she came to the threshold of the door, the child died; |

And they buried him; and all Yisrael mourned for him, according to the word of Yahweh, which he spake by the hand of his servant Achiyyah the prophet. |

And Rechavam the son of Shelomoh reigned in Yehudah. Rechavam [was] forty and one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Yerushalaim, the city which Yahweh did choose out of all the tribes of Yisrael, to put his name there. And his mother's name [was] Naamah an Ammonith. |

And it came to pass in the fifth year of king Rechavam, [that] Shishaq king of Mitzrayim came up against Yerushalaim: |

and the treasures°

house;°
he even took away°°
all:°
and he took away°°°

the shields°
of gold°

And he took away the treasures of the house of Yahweh, and the treasures of the king's house; he even took away all: and he took away all the shields of gold which Shelomoh had made. |
