20:1 ¶
And Yahweh spake unto Mosheh, saying, |

20:2
Again, thou shalt sayºº
toº
the childrenº
of
Yi$rä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל,º
Whosoeverº
[he be] of the childrenºº
of
Yi$rä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל,º
or ofº
the strangersº
that sojournºº
in
Yi$rä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל,º
thatº
givethºº
[any] of his seedºº
unto
Möle¢
מֹלֶך;º
he shall surelyºº
be put to death:ºº
the peopleº
of the landº
shall stoneºº
him with stones.º |

20:2
Again, thou shalt say to the children of Yisrael, Whosoever [he be] of the children of Yisrael, or of the strangers that sojourn in Yisrael, that giveth [any] of his seed unto Molekh; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones. |

20:3
And Iº
will setººº
my faceº
against thatº
man,º
and will cut him offººº
from amongºº
his people;º
becauseº
he hath givenºº
of his seedºº
unto
Möle¢
מֹלֶך,º
toº
defileººº
my sanctuary,º
and to profaneººº
my holyº
name.º |

20:3
And I will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto Molekh, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name. |

20:4
And ifº
the peopleº
of the landº
do any waysºº
hideººº
their eyesº
from the man,ººº
when he givethºº
of his seedºº
unto
Möle¢
מֹלֶך,º
and killºº
him not:º |

20:4
And if the people of the land do any ways hide their eyes from the man, when he giveth of his seed unto Molekh, and kill him not: |
|
20:5
Then Iº
will setººº
my faceº
against thatº
man,º
and against his family,º
and will cut him off,ººº
and allº
that go a whoringºº
afterº
him, to commit whoredomºº
withº
Möle¢
מֹלֶך,º
from amongºº
their people.º |
|
20:5
Then I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that go a whoring after him, to commit whoredom with Molekh, from among their people. |
|
20:6 ¶
And the soulº
thatº
turnethºº
afterº
such as have familiar spirits,º
and afterºº
wizards,º
to go a whoringºº
afterº
them, I will even setººº
my faceº
against thatº
soul,º
and will cut him offººº
from amongºº
his people.º |
|
20:6 ¶
And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people. |
|
20:7 ¶
Sanctifyºº
yourselvesº
therefore, and beº
ye holy:º
forº
Iº

Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
your
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים.º |

20:7 ¶
Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I [am] Yahweh your Elohim. |

20:8
And ye shall keepººº
my statutes,º
and doºº
them: Iº
[am]
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
Mækaddiš¢em
מְקַדִּשׁכֶם.ºº |

20:8
And ye shall keep my statutes, and do them: I [am] Yahweh Meqaddishkhem. |
|
20:9 ¶
Forº
everyº
oneº
thatº
cursethººº
his fatherº
or his motherº
shall be surelyºº
put to death:ºº
he hath cursedºº
his fatherº
or his mother;º
his bloodº
[shall be] upon him. |
|
20:9 ¶
For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall be surely put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood [shall be] upon him. |
|
20:10 ¶
And the manº
thatº
committeth adulteryºº
withº
[another] man'sº
wife,º
[even he] thatº
committeth adulteryºº
withº
his neighbour'sº
wife,º
the adultererºº
and the adulteressºº
shall surelyºº
be put to death.ºº |

20:10 ¶
And the man that committeth adultery with [another] man's wife, [even he] that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death. |
|
20:11
And the manº
thatº
liethºº
withº
his father'sº
wifeº
hath uncoveredºº
his father'sº
nakedness:º
bothº
of them shall surelyºº
be put to death;ºº
their bloodº
[shall be] upon them. |
|
20:11
And the man that lieth with his father's wife hath uncovered his father's nakedness: both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood [shall be] upon them. |
|
20:12
And ifº
a manº
lieºº
withº
his daughter in law,º
bothº
of them shall surelyºº
be put to death:ºº
they have wroughtºº
confusion;º
their bloodº
[shall be] upon them. |
|
20:12
And if a man lie with his daughter in law, both of them shall surely be put to death: they have wrought confusion; their blood [shall be] upon them. |
|
20:13
Ifº
a manº
also lieºº
withº
mankind,º
as he liethº
with a woman,º
bothº
of them have committedºº
an abomination:º
they shall surelyºº
be put to death;ºº
their bloodº
[shall be] upon them. |
|
20:13
If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood [shall be] upon them. |
|
20:14
And ifº
a manº
takeººº
a wifeº
and her mother,º
itº
[is] wickedness:º
they shall be burntºº
with fire,º
both he and they; that there beº
noº
wickednessº
amongº
you. |

20:14
And if a man take a wife and her mother, it [is] wickedness: they shall be burnt with fire, both he and they; that there be no wickedness among you. |
|
20:15
And ifº
a manº
lieººº
with a beast,º
he shall surelyºº
be put to death:ºº
and ye shall slayºº
the beast.º |
|
20:15
And if a man lie with a beast, he shall surely be put to death: and ye shall slay the beast. |
|
20:16
And ifº
a womanº
approachºº
untoº
anyº
beast,º
and lie downºº
thereto, thou shalt killººº
the woman,º
and the beast:º
they shall surelyºº
be put to death;ºº
their bloodº
[shall be] upon them. |
|
20:16
And if a woman approach unto any beast, and lie down thereto, thou shalt kill the woman, and the beast: they shall surely be put to death; their blood [shall be] upon them. |
|
20:17
And ifº
a manº
shall takeººº
his sister,º
his father'sº
daughter,º
orº
his mother'sº
daughter,º
and seeººº
her nakedness,º
and sheº
seeººº
his nakedness;º
itº
[is] a wicked thing;º
and they shall be cut offºº
in the sightº
of their people:ºº
he hath uncoveredºº
his sister'sº
nakedness;º
he shall bearºº
his iniquity.º |

And if a man shall take his sister, his father's daughter, or his mother's daughter, and see her nakedness, and she see his nakedness; it [is] a wicked thing; and they shall be cut off in the sight of their people: he hath uncovered his sister's nakedness; he shall bear his iniquity. |

20:18

a womanº
having her sickness,º
and shall uncoverººº
her nakedness;º
he hath discoveredººº
her fountain,º
and sheº
hath uncoveredººº
the fountainº
of her blood:º
and bothº
of them shall be cut offºº
from amongºº
their people.º |

And if a man shall lie with a woman having her sickness, and shall uncover her nakedness; he hath discovered her fountain, and she hath uncovered the fountain of her blood: and both of them shall be cut off from among their people. |

20:19
And thou shalt notº
uncoverºº
the nakednessº
of thy mother'sº
sister,º
nor of thy father'sº
sister:º
forº
he uncoverethººº
his near kin:º
they shall bearºº
their iniquity.º |
|
20:19
And thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother's sister, nor of thy father's sister: for he uncovereth his near kin: they shall bear their iniquity. |
|
20:20
And ifº
a manº
shall lieºº
withº
his uncle's wife,º
he hath uncoveredºº
his uncle'sº
nakedness:º
they shall bearºº
their sin;º
they shall dieºº
childless.º |
|
20:20
And if a man shall lie with his uncle's wife, he hath uncovered his uncle's nakedness: they shall bear their sin; they shall die childless. |
|
20:21
And ifº
a manº
shall takeººº
his brother'sº
wife,º
itº
[is] an unclean thing:º
he hath uncoveredºº
his brother'sº
nakedness;º
they shall beº
childless.º |
|
20:21
And if a man shall take his brother's wife, it [is] an unclean thing: he hath uncovered his brother's nakedness; they shall be childless. |
|
20:22 ¶
Ye shall therefore keepººº
allº
my statutes,º
and allº
my judgments,º
and doºº
them: that the land,º
whitherºº
Iº
bringºº
you to dwellºº
therein, spue you not out.ºººº |

20:22 ¶
Ye shall therefore keep all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: that the land, whither I bring you to dwell therein, spue you not out. |
|
20:23
And ye shall notº
walkººº
in the mannersº
of the nation,º
whichº
Iº
cast outºº
beforeºº
you: forº
they committedººº
allº
these things,º
and therefore I abhorredºº
them. |

20:23
And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them. |
|
20:24
But I have saidºº
unto you, Yeº
shall inheritººº
their land,º
and Iº
will giveºº
it unto you to possessºº
it, a landº
that flowethºº
with milkº
and honey:º
Iº

יָהוֶהº
your
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים,º
whichº
have separatedºº
you fromº
[other] people.º |

But I have said unto you, Ye shall inherit their land, and I will give it unto you to possess it, a land that floweth with milk and honey: I [am] Yahweh your Elohim, which have separated you from [other] people. |

20:25
Ye shall therefore put differenceºº
betweenº
cleanº
beastsº
and unclean,º
and betweenº
uncleanº
fowlsº
and clean:º
and ye shall notº
make your soulsº
abominableºººº
by beast,º
or by fowl,º
or by any mannerº
of living thing that creepethººº
on the ground,º
whichº
I have separatedºº
from you as unclean.ºº |

Ye shall therefore put difference between clean beasts and unclean, and between unclean fowls and clean: and ye shall not make your souls abominable by beast, or by fowl, or by any manner of living thing that creepeth on the ground, which I have separated from you as unclean. |

20:26
And ye shall beº
holyº
unto me: forº
Iº
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
[am] holy,º
and have severedºº
you fromº
[other] people,º
that ye should beº
mine. |
|
20:26
And ye shall be holy unto me: for I Yahweh [am] holy, and have severed you from [other] people, that ye should be mine. |
|
20:27 ¶
A manº
also orº
womanº
thatº
hathºº
a familiar spirit,º
orº
that is a wizard,º
shall surelyºº
be put to death:ºº
they shall stoneºº
them with stones:º
their bloodº
[shall be] upon them. |
|
20:27 ¶
A man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood [shall be] upon them. |
