 5:1 ¶ And ifº a soulº sin,ºº and hearºº the voiceº of swearing,º and [is] a witness,º whetherº he hath seenºº orº knownºº [of it]; ifº he do notº utterºº [it], then he shall bearºº his iniquity.º

 5:1 ¶ And if a soul sin, and hear the voice of swearing, and [is] a witness, whether he hath seen or known [of it]; if he do not utter [it], then he shall bear his iniquity.

 5:2 Orº if a soulº touchºº anyº uncleanº thing,º whetherº [it be] a carcaseº of an uncleanº beast,º orº a carcaseº of uncleanº cattle,º orº the carcaseº of uncleanº creeping things,º and [if] it be hiddenºº fromº him; heº also shall be unclean,º and guilty.ºº

 5:2 Or if a soul touch any unclean thing, whether [it be] a carcase of an unclean beast, or a carcase of unclean cattle, or the carcase of unclean creeping things, and [if] it be hidden from him; he also shall be unclean, and guilty.

 5:3 Orº ifº he touchºº the uncleannessº of man,º whatsoeverº uncleannessº [it be] thatº a man shall be defiledºº withal, and it be hidºº fromº him; when heº knowethºº [of it], then he shall be guilty.ºº

 5:3 Or if he touch the uncleanness of man, whatsoever uncleanness [it be] that a man shall be defiled withal, and it be hid from him; when he knoweth [of it], then he shall be guilty.

 5:4 Orº ifº a soulº swear,ºº pronouncingºº with [his] lipsº to do evil,ºº orº to do good,ºº whatsoeverºº [it be] that a manº shall pronounceºº with an oath,º and it be hidºº fromº him; when heº knowethºº [of it], then he shall be guiltyºº in oneº of these.ºº

 5:4 Or if a soul swear, pronouncing with [his] lips to do evil, or to do good, whatsoever [it be] that a man shall pronounce with an oath, and it be hid from him; when he knoweth [of it], then he shall be guilty in one of these.

 5:5 And it shall be,º whenº he shall be guiltyºº in oneº of theseºº [things], that he shall confessºº thatº he hath sinnedºº inº that [thing]:

 5:5 And it shall be, when he shall be guilty in one of these [things], that he shall confess that he hath sinned in that [thing]:

 5:6 And he shall bringººº his trespass offeringº unto Yähwè יָהוֶהº forº his sinº whichº he hath sinned,ºº a femaleº fromº the flock,º a lambº orº a kidº of the goats,º for a sin offering;º and the priestº shall make an atonementºº forº him concerning his sin.ºº

 5:6 And he shall bring his trespass offering unto Yahweh for his sin which he hath sinned, a female from the flock, a lamb or a kid of the goats, for a sin offering; and the priest shall make an atonement for him concerning his sin.

 5:7 And ifº heº be notº ableº to bringºººº a lamb,º then he shall bringººº forº his trespass,º whichº he hath committed,ºº twoº turtledoves,º orº twoº youngº pigeons,º unto Yähwè יָהוֶה;º oneº for a sin offering,º and the otherº for a burnt offering.º

 5:7 And if he be not able to bring a lamb, then he shall bring for his trespass, which he hath committed, two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, unto Yahweh; one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering.

 5:8 And he shall bringºº them untoº the priest,º who shall offerººº [that] whichº [is] for the sin offeringº first,º and wring offººº his headº fromºº his neck,º but shall notº divide [it] asunder:ºº

 5:8 And he shall bring them unto the priest, who shall offer [that] which [is] for the sin offering first, and wring off his head from his neck, but shall not divide [it] asunder:

 5:9 And he shall sprinkleºº of the bloodºº of the sin offeringº uponº the sideº of the altar;º and the restºº of the bloodº shall be wrung outºº atº the bottomº of the altar:º itº [is] a sin offering.º

 5:9 And he shall sprinkle of the blood of the sin offering upon the side of the altar; and the rest of the blood shall be wrung out at the bottom of the altar: it [is] a sin offering.

 5:10 And he shall offerºº the secondº [for] a burnt offering,º according to the manner:º and the priestº shall make an atonementºº forº him for his sinºº whichº he hath sinned,ºº and it shall be forgivenºº him.

 5:10 And he shall offer the second [for] a burnt offering, according to the manner: and the priest shall make an atonement for him for his sin which he hath sinned, and it shall be forgiven him.

 5:11 ¶ But ifº heº be notº able to bringººº twoº turtledoves,º orº twoº youngº pigeons,º then he thatº sinnedºº shall bringººº for his offeringº the tenthº partº of an ephahº of fine flourº for a sin offering;º he shall putºº noº oilº uponº it, neitherº shall he putºº [any] frankincenseº thereon:º forº itº [is] a sin offering.º

 5:11 ¶ But if he be not able to bring two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, then he that sinned shall bring for his offering the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a sin offering; he shall put no oil upon it, neither shall he put [any] frankincense thereon: for it [is] a sin offering.

 5:12 Then shall he bringºº it toº the priest,º and the priestº shall takeºº his handfulºº ofº it, [even]º a memorialº thereof, and burnºº [it] on the altar,º according toº the offerings made by fireº unto Yähwè יָהוֶה:º itº [is] a sin offering.º

 5:12 Then shall he bring it to the priest, and the priest shall take his handful of it, [even] a memorial thereof, and burn [it] on the altar, according to the offerings made by fire unto Yahweh: it [is] a sin offering.

 5:13 And the priestº shall make an atonementºº forº him as touchingº his sinº thatº he hath sinnedºº in oneºº of these,ºº and it shall be forgivenºº him: and [the remnant] shall beº the priest's,º as a meat offering.º

 5:13 And the priest shall make an atonement for him as touching his sin that he hath sinned in one of these, and it shall be forgiven him: and [the remnant] shall be the priest's, as a meat offering.

 5:14 ¶ And Yähwè יָהוֶהº spakeºº untoº Möšè מֹשֶׁה,º saying,ºº

 5:14 ¶ And Yahweh spake unto Mosheh, saying,

 5:15 Ifº a soulº commitºº a trespass,º and sinºº through ignorance,º inº the holy thingsº of Yähwè יָהוֶה;º then he shall bringººº for his trespassº unto Yähwè יָהוֶהº a ramº without blemishº out ofº the flocks,º with thy estimationº by shekelsº of silver,º after the shekelº of the sanctuary,º for a trespass offering:º

 5:15 If a soul commit a trespass, and sin through ignorance, in the holy things of Yahweh; then he shall bring for his trespass unto Yahweh a ram without blemish out of the flocks, with thy estimation by shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary, for a trespass offering:

 5:16 And he shall make amendsºº for the harmºº that he hath doneºº inº the holy thing,º and shall addºº the fifth partº thereto,º and giveºº it unto the priest:º and the priestº shall make an atonementºº forº him with the ramº of the trespass offering,º and it shall be forgivenºº him.

 5:16 And he shall make amends for the harm that he hath done in the holy thing, and shall add the fifth part thereto, and give it unto the priest: and the priest shall make an atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering, and it shall be forgiven him.

 5:17 ¶ And ifº a soulº sin,ºº and commitºº anyº of these thingsºº whichº are forbiddenº to be doneºº by the commandmentsº of Yähwè יָהוֶה;º though he wistºº [it] not,º yet is he guilty,ºº and shall bearºº his iniquity.º

 5:17 ¶ And if a soul sin, and commit any of these things which are forbidden to be done by the commandments of Yahweh; though he wist [it] not, yet is he guilty, and shall bear his iniquity.

 5:18 And he shall bringºº a ramº without blemishº out ofº the flock,º with thy estimation,º for a trespass offering,º untoº the priest:º and the priestº shall make an atonementºº forº him concerningº his ignoranceº whereinº he erredºº and wistºº [it] not,º and it shall be forgivenºº him.

 5:18 And he shall bring a ram without blemish out of the flock, with thy estimation, for a trespass offering, unto the priest: and the priest shall make an atonement for him concerning his ignorance wherein he erred and wist [it] not, and it shall be forgiven him.

 5:19 Itº [is] a trespass offering:º he hath certainlyºº trespassedºº against Yähwè יָהוֶה.º

 5:19 It [is] a trespass offering: he hath certainly trespassed against Yahweh.
