the priestsº
the sonsº
of
´Ahárön
אַהֲרֹן,º
and sayºº
untoº
them, There shall noneº
be defiledºº
for the deadº
among his people:º |

21:1 ¶
And Yahweh said unto Mosheh, Speak unto the priests the sons of Aharon, and say unto them, There shall none be defiled for the dead among his people: |
|
21:2
Butºº
for his kin,º
that is nearº
untoº
him, [that is], for his mother,º
and for his father,º
and for his son,º
and for his daughter,º
and for his brother,º |
|
21:2
But for his kin, that is near unto him, [that is], for his mother, and for his father, and for his son, and for his daughter, and for his brother, |
|
21:3
And for his sisterº
a virgin,º
that is nighº
untoº
him, whichº
hath hadº
noº
husband;º
for her may he be defiled.ºº |
|
21:3
And for his sister a virgin, that is nigh unto him, which hath had no husband; for her may he be defiled. |
|
21:4
[But] he shall notº
defileºº
himself,º
[being] a chief manº
among his people,º
to profaneºº
himself.º |
|
21:4
[But] he shall not defile himself, [being] a chief man among his people, to profane himself. |
|
21:5
They shall notº
makeºº
baldnessº
upon their head,º
neitherº
shall they shave offºº
the cornerº
of their beard,º
norº
makeºº
any cuttingsº
in their flesh.º |
|
21:5
They shall not make baldness upon their head, neither shall they shave off the corner of their beard, nor make any cuttings in their flesh. |
|
21:6
They shall beº
holyºº
unto their
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים,º
and notº
profaneºº
the nameº
of their
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים:º
forºº
the offeringsºº
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
made by fire,ºº
[and] the breadº
of their
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים,º
theyº
do offer:ºº
therefore they shall beº
holy.ºº |

21:6
They shall be holy unto their Elohim, and not profane the name of their Elohim: for the offerings of Yahweh made by fire, [and] the bread of their Elohim, they do offer: therefore they shall be holy. |
|
21:7
They shall notº
takeºº
a wifeº
[that is] a whore,ºº
or profane;º
neitherº
shall they takeºº
a womanº
put awayºº
from her husband:ºº
forº
heº
[is] holyº
unto his
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים.º |
|
21:7
They shall not take a wife [that is] a whore, or profane; neither shall they take a woman put away from her husband: for he [is] holy unto his Elohim. |
|
21:8
Thou shalt sanctifyºº
him therefore; forº
heº
offerethººº
the breadº
of thy
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים:º
he shall beº
holyº
unto thee: forº
Iº
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,º
Mækaddiš¢em
מְקַדִּשׁכֶם,ºº
[am] holy.º |

Thou shalt sanctify him therefore; for he offereth the bread of thy Elohim: he shall be holy unto thee: for I Yahweh, Meqaddishkhem, [am] holy. |
|
21:9 ¶
And the daughterº
of anyº
priest,º
ifº
she profaneºº
herselfº
by playing the whore,ºº
sheº
profanethººº
her father:º
she shall be burntºº
with fire.º |
|
21:9 ¶
And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the whore, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire. |
|
21:10
And [he that is] the highº
priestº
among his brethren,ºº
uponº
whoseº
headº
the anointingº
oilº
was poured,ºº
and that is consecratedºººº
to putºº
onºº
the garments,º
shall notº
uncoverººº
his head,º
norº
rendºº
his clothes;º |
|
21:10
And [he that is] the high priest among his brethren, upon whose head the anointing oil was poured, and that is consecrated to put on the garments, shall not uncover his head, nor rend his clothes; |
|
21:11
Neitherº
shall he go inºº
toº
anyº
deadºº
body,º
norº
defileºº
himselfº
for his father,º
or for his mother;º |
|
21:11
Neither shall he go in to any dead body, nor defile himself for his father, or for his mother; |
|
21:12
Neitherº
shall he go outºº
ofº
the sanctuary,º
norº
profaneººº
the sanctuaryº
of his
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים;º
forº
the crownº
of the anointingº
oilº
of his
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִיםº
[is] uponº
him: Iº
[am]
Yähwè
יָהוֶה.º |

21:12
Neither shall he go out of the sanctuary, nor profane the sanctuary of his Elohim; for the crown of the anointing oil of his Elohim [is] upon him: I [am] Yahweh. |
|
21:13
And heº
shall takeºº
a wifeº
in her virginity.º |
|
21:13
And he shall take a wife in her virginity. |
|
21:14
A widow,º
or a divorced woman,ºº
or profane,º
[or] an harlot,ººº
theseº
shall he notº
take:ºº
butºº
he shall takeºº
a virginº
of his own peopleºº
to wife.º |
|
21:14
A widow, or a divorced woman, or profane, [or] an harlot, these shall he not take: but he shall take a virgin of his own people to wife. |
|
21:15
Neitherº
shall he profaneºº
his seedº
among his people:º
forº
Iº
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
do sanctifyºº
him. |
|
21:15
Neither shall he profane his seed among his people: for I Yahweh do sanctify him. |
|
21:16 ¶
And

21:16 ¶
And Yahweh spake unto Mosheh, saying, |

Speakºº
untoº
´Ahárön
אַהֲרֹן,º
saying,ºº
Whosoeverºº
[he be] of thy seedºº
in their generationsº
that hathº
[any] blemish,º
let him notº
approachºº
to offerºº
the breadº
of his
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים.º |

21:17
Speak unto Aharon, saying, Whosoever [he be] of thy seed in their generations that hath [any] blemish, let him not approach to offer the bread of his Elohim. |
|
21:18

whatsoeverº

[he be] thatº
hath a blemish,º
he shall notº
approach:ºº
a blindº
man,º
orº
a lame,º
orº
he that hath a flat nose,ºº
orº
any thing superfluous,ºº |

For whatsoever man [he be] that hath a blemish, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath a flat nose, or any thing superfluous, |

Or a man that is brokenfooted, or brokenhanded, |

a dwarf,º

be scurvy,º

scabbed,º
orº
hath his stonesº
broken;º |

Or crookbackt, or a dwarf, or that hath a blemish in his eye, or be scurvy, or scabbed, or hath his stones broken; |

No man that hath a blemish of the seed of Aharon the priest shall come nigh to offer the offerings of Yahweh made by fire: he hath a blemish; he shall not come nigh to offer the bread of his Elohim. |

21:22
He shall eatºº
the breadº
of his
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים,º
[both] of the mostº
holy,ºº
and ofº
the holy.º |
|
21:22
He shall eat the bread of his Elohim, [both] of the most holy, and of the holy. |
|
21:23
Onlyº
he shall notº
go inºº
untoº
the vail,º
norº
come nighºº
untoº
the altar,º
becauseº
he hath a blemish;º
that he profaneºº
notºº
my sanctuaries:º
forº
Iº
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº

Only he shall not go in unto the vail, nor come nigh unto the altar, because he hath a blemish; that he profane not my sanctuaries: for I Yahweh Meqaddishkhem. |

And Mosheh told [it] unto Aharon, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Yisrael. |
