 8:1 ¶ And Yähwè יָהוֶהº spakeºº untoº Möšè מֹשֶׁה,º saying,ºº

 8:1 ¶ And Yahweh spake unto Mosheh, saying,

 8:2 Speakºº untoº ´Ahárön אַהֲרֹן,º and sayºº untoº him, When thou lightestººº the lamps,º the sevenº lampsº shall give lightºº over againstººº the candlestick.º

 8:2 Speak unto Aharon, and say unto him, When thou lightest the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light over against the candlestick.

 8:3 And ´Ahárön אַהֲרֹןº didºº so;º he lightedºº the lampsº thereof over againstººº the candlestick,º asº Yähwè יָהוֶהº commandedººº Möšè מֹשֶׁה.º

 8:3 And Aharon did so; he lighted the lamps thereof over against the candlestick, as Yahweh commanded Mosheh.

 8:4 And thisº workº of the candlestickº [was of] beatenº gold,º untoº the shaftº thereof, untoº the flowersº thereof, [was] beaten work:º according unto the patternº whichº Yähwè יָהוֶהº had shewedººº Möšè מֹשֶׁה,º soº he madeººº the candlestick.º

 8:4 And this work of the candlestick [was of] beaten gold, unto the shaft thereof, unto the flowers thereof, [was] beaten work: according unto the pattern which Yahweh had shewed Mosheh, so he made the candlestick.

 8:5 ¶ And Yähwè יָהוֶהº spakeºº untoº Möšè מֹשֶׁה,º saying,ºº

 8:5 ¶ And Yahweh spake unto Mosheh, saying,

 8:6 Takeººº the Læwiyyim לְוִיִּםº from amongºº the childrenº of Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל,º and cleanseºº them.

 8:6 Take the Lewiyyim from among the children of Yisrael, and cleanse them.

 8:7 And thusº shalt thou doºº unto them, to cleanseºº them: Sprinkleºº waterº of purifyingº uponº them, and let them shaveºººº allº their flesh,º and let them washºº their clothes,º and [so] make themselves clean.ºº

 8:7 And thus shalt thou do unto them, to cleanse them: Sprinkle water of purifying upon them, and let them shave all their flesh, and let them wash their clothes, and [so] make themselves clean.

 8:8 Then let them takeºº a youngºº bullockº with his meat offering,º [even] fine flourº mingledºº with oil,º and anotherº youngºº bullockº shalt thou takeºº for a sin offering.º

 8:8 Then let them take a young bullock with his meat offering, [even] fine flour mingled with oil, and another young bullock shalt thou take for a sin offering.

 8:9 And thou shalt bringººº the Læwiyyim לְוִיִּםº beforeº the tabernacleº of the congregation:º and thou shalt gatherººº the wholeº assemblyº of the childrenº of Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵלº together:ºº

 8:9 And thou shalt bring the Lewiyyim before the tabernacle of the congregation: and thou shalt gather the whole assembly of the children of Yisrael together:

 8:10 And thou shalt bringººº the Læwiyyim לְוִיִּםº beforeº Yähwè יָהוֶה:º and the childrenº of Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵלº shall putººº their handsº uponº the Læwiyyim לְוִיִּם:º

 8:10 And thou shalt bring the Lewiyyim before Yahweh: and the children of Yisrael shall put their hands upon the Lewiyyim:

 8:11 And ´Ahárön אַהֲרֹןº shall offerººº the Læwiyyim לְוִיִּםº beforeº Yähwè יָהוֶהº [for] an offeringº ofºº the childrenº of Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל,º that they may executeºººº the serviceº of Yähwè יָהוֶה.º

 8:11 And Aharon shall offer the Lewiyyim before Yahweh [for] an offering of the children of Yisrael, that they may execute the service of Yahweh.

 8:12 And the Læwiyyim לְוִיִּםº shall layººº their handsº uponº the headsº of the bullocks:º and thou shalt offerººº the oneº [for] a sin offering,º and the otherº [for] a burnt offering,º unto Yähwè יָהוֶה,º to make an atonementºº forº the Læwiyyim לְוִיִּם.º

 8:12 And the Lewiyyim shall lay their hands upon the heads of the bullocks: and thou shalt offer the one [for] a sin offering, and the other [for] a burnt offering, unto Yahweh, to make an atonement for the Lewiyyim.

 8:13 And thou shalt setººº the Læwiyyim לְוִיִּםº beforeº ´Ahárön אַהֲרֹן,º and beforeº his sons,º and offerºº them [for] an offeringº unto Yähwè יָהוֶה.º

 8:13 And thou shalt set the Lewiyyim before Aharon, and before his sons, and offer them [for] an offering unto Yahweh.

 8:14 Thus shalt thou separateººº the Læwiyyim לְוִיִּםº from amongºº the childrenº of Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל:º and the Læwiyyim לְוִיִּםº shall beº mine.

 8:14 Thus shalt thou separate the Lewiyyim from among the children of Yisrael: and the Lewiyyim shall be mine.

 8:15 And afterº thatº shall the Læwiyyim לְוִיִּםº go inºº to do the serviceººº of the tabernacleº of the congregation:º and thou shalt cleanseºº them, and offerºº them [for] an offering.º

 8:15 And after that shall the Lewiyyim go in to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation: and thou shalt cleanse them, and offer them [for] an offering.

 8:16 Forº theyº [are] wholly givenºº unto me from amongºº the childrenº of Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל;º instead ofº such as openº everyº womb,º [even instead of] the firstbornº of allº the childrenºº of Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל,º have I takenºº them unto me.

 8:16 For they [are] wholly given unto me from among the children of Yisrael; instead of such as open every womb, [even instead of] the firstborn of all the children of Yisrael, have I taken them unto me.

 8:17 Forº allº the firstbornº of the childrenº of Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵלº [are] mine, [both] manº and beast:º on the dayº that I smoteºº everyº firstbornº in the landº of Mixrayim מִצרַיִםº I sanctifiedºº them for myself.

 8:17 For all the firstborn of the children of Yisrael [are] mine, [both] man and beast: on the day that I smote every firstborn in the land of Mitzrayim I sanctified them for myself.

 8:18 And I have takenººº the Læwiyyim לְוִיִּםº forº allº the firstbornº of the childrenº of Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל.º

 8:18 And I have taken the Lewiyyim for all the firstborn of the children of Yisrael.

 8:19 And I have givenººº the Læwiyyim לְוִיִּםº [as] a giftºº to ´Ahárön אַהֲרֹןº and to his sonsº from amongºº the childrenº of Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל,º to doººº the serviceº of the childrenº of Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵלº in the tabernacleº of the congregation,º and to make an atonementºº forº the childrenº of Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל:º that there beº noº plagueº among the childrenº of Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל,º when the childrenº of Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵלº come nighºº untoº the sanctuary.º

 8:19 And I have given the Lewiyyim [as] a gift to Aharon and to his sons from among the children of Yisrael, to do the service of the children of Yisrael in the tabernacle of the congregation, and to make an atonement for the children of Yisrael: that there be no plague among the children of Yisrael, when the children of Yisrael come nigh unto the sanctuary.

 8:20 And Möšè מֹשֶׁה,º and ´Ahárön אַהֲרֹן,º and allº the congregationº of the childrenº of Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל,º didºº to the Læwiyyim לְוִיִּםº according unto allº thatº Yähwè יָהוֶהº commandedººº Möšè מֹשֶׁהº concerning the Læwiyyim לְוִיִּם,º soº didºº the childrenº of Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵלº unto them.

 8:20 And Mosheh, and Aharon, and all the congregation of the children of Yisrael, did to the Lewiyyim according unto all that Yahweh commanded Mosheh concerning the Lewiyyim, so did the children of Yisrael unto them.

 8:21 And the Læwiyyim לְוִיִּםº were purified,ºº and they washedºº their clothes;º and ´Ahárön אַהֲרֹןº offeredºº them [as] an offeringº beforeº Yähwè יָהוֶה;º and ´Ahárön אַהֲרֹןº made an atonementºº forº them to cleanseºº them.

 8:21 And the Lewiyyim were purified, and they washed their clothes; and Aharon offered them [as] an offering before Yahweh; and Aharon made an atonement for them to cleanse them.

 8:22 And afterº thatº wentºº the Læwiyyim לְוִיִּםº inºº to doººº their serviceº in the tabernacleº of the congregationº beforeº ´Ahárön אַהֲרֹן,º and beforeº his sons:º asº Yähwè יָהוֶהº had commandedººº Möšè מֹשֶׁהº concerningº the Læwiyyim לְוִיִּם,º soº didºº they unto them.

 8:22 And after that went the Lewiyyim in to do their service in the tabernacle of the congregation before Aharon, and before his sons: as Yahweh had commanded Mosheh concerning the Lewiyyim, so did they unto them.

 8:23 ¶ And Yähwè יָהוֶהº spakeºº untoº Möšè מֹשֶׁה,º saying,ºº

 8:23 ¶ And Yahweh spake unto Mosheh, saying,

 8:24 Thisº [is it] thatº [belongeth] unto the Læwiyyim לְוִיִּם:º from twentyº and fiveº yearsº oldºº and upwardº they shall go inºº to waitººº uponºº the serviceº of the tabernacleº of the congregation:º

 8:24 This [is it] that [belongeth] unto the Lewiyyim: from twenty and five years old and upward they shall go in to wait upon the service of the tabernacle of the congregation:

 8:25 And from the ageºº of fiftyº yearsº they shall ceaseºº waitingº uponººº the serviceº [thereof], and shall serveºº noº more:º

 8:25 And from the age of fifty years they shall cease waiting upon the service [thereof], and shall serve no more:

 8:26 But shall ministerºº withº their brethrenº in the tabernacleº of the congregation,º to keepºº the charge,º and shall doºº noº service.º Thusº shalt thou doºº unto the Læwiyyim לְוִיִּםº touching their charge.º

 8:26 But shall minister with their brethren in the tabernacle of the congregation, to keep the charge, and shall do no service. Thus shalt thou do unto the Lewiyyim touching their charge.
