From twenty years old and upward, all that are able to go forth to war in Yisrael: thou and Aharon shall number them by their armies. |

you there shall beº

And with you there shall be a man of every tribe; every one head of the house of his fathers. |

And Mosheh and Aharon took these men which are expressed by [their] names: |

and they declared their pedigreesºº

their families,º
by the houseº
of their fathers,º
according to the numberº
of the names,º

Only thou shalt not number the tribe of Lewi, neither take the sum of them among the children of Yisrael: |

But thouº
shalt appointººº
the
Læwiyyim
לְוִיִּםº
overº
the tabernacleº
of testimony,º
and overº
allº
the vesselsº
thereof, and overº
all thingsº
thatº
[belong] to it: theyº
shall bearººº
the tabernacle,º
and allº
the vesselsº
thereof; and theyº
shall ministerºº
unto it, and shall encampºº
round aboutº
the tabernacle.º |

But thou shalt appoint the Lewiyyim over the tabernacle of testimony, and over all the vessels thereof, and over all things that [belong] to it: they shall bear the tabernacle, and all the vessels thereof; and they shall minister unto it, and shall encamp round about the tabernacle. |

And when the tabernacleº
setteth forward,ºº
the
Læwiyyim
לְוִיִּםº
shall take it down:ººº
and when the tabernacleº
is to be pitched,ºº
the
Læwiyyim
לְוִיִּםº
shall set it up:ººº
and the strangerºº
that cometh nighº
shall be put to death.ºº |

And when the tabernacle setteth forward, the Lewiyyim shall take it down: and when the tabernacle is to be pitched, the Lewiyyim shall set it up: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death. |

And the childrenº

shall pitch their tents,ºº
every manº
byº
his own camp,º
and every manº
byº
his own standard,º
throughout their hosts.º |

And the children of Yisrael shall pitch their tents, every man by his own camp, and every man by his own standard, throughout their hosts. |

But the
Læwiyyim

shall pitchºº
round aboutº
the tabernacleº
of testimony,º
that there beº
noº
wrathº
uponº
the congregationº
of the childrenº
of
Yi$rä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל:º
and the
Læwiyyim
לְוִיִּםº
shall keepººº
the chargeº
of the tabernacleº
of testimony.º |

But the Lewiyyim shall pitch round about the tabernacle of testimony, that there be no wrath upon the congregation of the children of Yisrael: and the Lewiyyim shall keep the charge of the tabernacle of testimony. |
