Isaiah 56

1 The prophet exhorteth to sanctification. 3 He promiseth it shall be general without respect of persons. 9 He inveigheth against blind watchmen.

 56:1 Thus 3541 says 559 the LORD 3068, “Preserve 8104 justice 4941 and do 6213a righteousness 6666, For My salvation 3444 is about 7138 to come 935 And My righteousness 6666 to be revealed 1540.

 56:2 “How blessed 835 is the man 582 who does 6213a this 384, And the son 1121 of man 120 who takes 2388 hold 2388 of it; Who keeps 8104 from profaning 2490c the sabbath 7676, And keeps 8104 his hand 3027 from doing 6213a any 3605 evil 7451a.”

 56:3 Let not the foreigner 1121 5236 who has joined 3867a himself to the LORD 3068 say 559, “The LORD 3068 will surely 914 separate 914 me from His people 5971a.” Nor 408 let the eunuch 5631 say 559, “Behold 2005, I am a dry 3002 tree 6086.”

 56:4 For thus 3541 says 559 the LORD 3068, “To the eunuchs 5631 who 834 keep 8104 My sabbaths 7676, And choose 977 what 834 pleases 2654a Me, And hold 2388 fast 2388 My covenant 1285,

 56:5 To them I will give 5414 in My house 1004 and within My walls 2346 a memorial 3027, And a name 8034 better 2896a than 4480 that of sons 1121 and daughters 1323; I will give 5414 them an everlasting 5769 name 8034 which 834 will not be cut 3772 off 3772.

 56:6 ¶ “Also the foreigners 1121 5236 who join 3867a themselves to the LORD 3068, To minister 8334 to Him, and to love 157 the name 8034 of the LORD 3068, To be His servants 5650, every 3605 one 3605 who keeps 8104 from profaning 2490c the sabbath 7676 And holds 2388 fast 2388 My covenant 1285;

 56:7 Even those I will bring 935 to My holy 6944 mountain 2022 And make 8055 them joyful 8055 in My house 1004 of prayer 8605. Their burnt 5930a offerings 5930a and their sacrifices 2077 will be acceptable 7522 on My altar 4196; For My house 1004 will be called 7121 a house 1004 of prayer 8605 for all 3605 the peoples 5971a.”

 56:8 The Lord 136 GOD 3068, who gathers 6908 the dispersed 5080 of Israel 3478, declares 5002, “Yet 5750 [others] I will gather 6908 to them, to those [already] gathered 6908.”

 56:9 ¶ All 3605 you beasts 2421b of the field 7706a, All 3605 you beasts 2421b in the forest 3293a, Come 857 to eat 398.

 56:10 His watchmen 6822 are blind 5787, All 3605 of them know 3045 nothing 3808. All 3605 of them are mute 483 dogs 3611 unable 3808 3201 to bark 5024, Dreamers 1957 lying 7901 down 7901, who love 157 to slumber 5123;

 56:11 And the dogs 3611 are greedy 5315 5794, they are not satisfied 3045 7654. And they are shepherds 7462a who have 3045 no 3808 understanding 995; They have all 3605 turned 6437 to their own way 1870, Each 376 one 376 to his unjust 1215 gain 1215, to the last 7097a one 7097a.

 56:12 “Come 857,” [they say], “let us get 3947 wine 3196, and let us drink 7941 heavily 5433a of strong 7941 drink 5433a; And tomorrow 4279 will be like today 2088 3117, only more 1419 3499a 3966 so.”
