Isaiah 66

1 The glorious God will be served in humble sincerety. 5 He comforteth the humble with the marvellous generation, 10 and with the gracious benefits of the Church. 15 God's severe judgments against the wicked. 19 The Gentiles shall have an holy Church, 24 and see the damnation of the wicked.

 66:1 Thus 3541 says 559 the LORD 3068, “Heaven 8064 is My throne 3678 and the earth 776 is My footstool 1916 7272. Where 335 then 2088 is a house 1004 you could build 1129 for Me? And where 335 is a place 4725 that I may rest 4496?

 66:2 “For My hand 3027 made 6213a all 3605 these 428 things 428, Thus all 3605 these 428 things 428 came 1961 into being 1961,” declares 5002 the LORD 3068. “But to this 2088 one 2088 I will look 5027, To him who 6041 is humble 6041 and contrite 5223 of spirit 7307, and who 2730a trembles 2730a at My word 1697.

 66:3 ¶ “[But] he who kills 7819 an ox 7794 is [like] one who slays 5221 a man 376; He who sacrifices 2076 a lamb 7716 is [like] the one who breaks 6202 a dog’s 3611 neck 6202; He who offers 5927 a grain offering 4503 [is like one who offers] swine’s 2386 blood 1818; He who burns 2142 incense 3828 is [like] the one who blesses 1288 an idol 205. As they have chosen 977 their [own] ways 1870, And their soul 5315 delights 2654a in their abominations 8251,

 66:4 So 1571 I will choose 977 their punishments 8586 And will bring 935 on them what 4034 they dread 4034. Because 3282 I called 7121, but no 369 one 369 answered 6030a; I spoke 1696, but they did not listen 8085. And they did 6213a evil 7451a in My sight 5869 And chose 977 that in which 834 I did not delight 2654a.”

 66:5 Hear 8085 the word 1697 of the LORD 3068, you who 2730a tremble 2730a at His word 1697: “Your brothers 251 who hate 8130 you, who exclude 5077 you for My name’s 8034 sake 4616, Have said 559, ‘Let the LORD 3068 be glorified 3513, that we may see 7200 your joy 8057.’ But they will be put 954 to shame 954.

 66:6 “A voice 6963 of uproar 7588 from the city 5892b, a voice 6963 from the temple 1964, The voice 6963 of the LORD 3068 who is rendering 7999a recompense 1576 to His enemies 340.

 66:7 ¶ “Before 2962 she travailed 2342a, she brought 3205 forth 3205; Before 2962 her pain 2256b came 935, she gave 4422 birth 4422 to a boy 2145.

 66:8 “Who 4310 has heard 8085 such 2088 a thing 2088? Who 4310 has seen 7200 such 428 things? Can a land 776 be born 2342a in one 259 day 3117? Can a nation 1471 be brought 3205 forth 3205 all 6471 at once 259 6471? As soon 3588 as Zion 6726 travailed 2342a, she also 1571 brought 3205 forth 3205 her sons 1121.

 66:9 “Shall I bring 7665 to the point 7665 of birth 7665 and not give 3205 delivery 3205?” says 559 the LORD 3068. “Or 518 shall I who gives 3205 delivery 3205 shut 6113 [the womb]?” says 559 your God 430.

 66:10 “Be joyful 8055 with Jerusalem 3389 and rejoice 1523 for her, all 3605 you who love 157 her; Be exceedingly 4885 glad 7797 with her, all 3605 you who mourn 56 over 5921 her,

 66:11 That you may nurse 3243 and be satisfied 7646 with her comforting 8575 breasts 7699b, That you may suck 4711 and be delighted 6026 with her bountiful 2123b bosom 3519b.”

 66:12 For thus 3541 says 559 the LORD 3068, “Behold 2009, I extend 5186 peace 7965 to her like a river 5104, And the glory 3519b of the nations 1471 like an overflowing 7857 stream 5158a; And you will be nursed 3243, you will be carried 5375 on the hip 6654 and fondled 8173b on the knees 1290.

 66:13 “As one 376 whom 834 his mother 517 comforts 5162, so 3651 I will comfort 5162 you; And you will be comforted 5162 in Jerusalem 3389.”

 66:14 Then you will see 7200 [this], and your heart 3820 will be glad 7797, And your bones 6106 will flourish 6524a like the new 1877 grass 1877; And the hand 3027 of the LORD 3068 will be made 3045 known 3045 to His servants 5650, But He will be indignant 2194 toward 854 His enemies 340.

 66:15 For behold 2009, the LORD 3068 will come 935 in fire 784 And His chariots 4818 like the whirlwind 5492a, To render 7725 His anger 639 with fury 2534, And His rebuke 1606 with flames 3851 of fire 784.

 66:16 For the LORD 3068 will execute 8199 judgment 8199 by fire 784 And by His sword 2719 on all 3605 flesh 1320, And those slain 2491a by the LORD 3068 will be many 7231.

 66:17 “Those who sanctify 6942 and purify 2891 themselves [to go] to the gardens 1593, Following 310 one 259 in the center 8432, Who eat 398 swine’s 2386 flesh 1320, detestable 8263 things 8263 and mice 5909, Will come 5486 to an end 5486 altogether 3164a,” declares 5002 the LORD 3068.

 66:18 ¶ “For I know their works 4639 and their thoughts 4284; the time is coming 935 to gather 6908 all 3605 nations 1471 and tongues 3956. And they shall come 935 and see 7200 My glory 3519b.

 66:19 “I will set 7760 a sign 226 among them and will send 7971 survivors 6412b from them to the nations 1471: Tarshish 8659, Put 6316, Lud 3865, Meshech 4902, Tubal 8422 and Javan 3120, to the distant 7350 coastlands 339 that have neither 3808 heard 8085 My fame 8088 nor 3808 seen 7200 My glory 3519b. And they will declare 5046 My glory 3519b among the nations 1471.

 66:20 “Then they shall bring 935 all 3605 your brethren 251 from all 3605 the nations 1471 as a grain offering 4503 to the LORD 3068, on horses 5483b, in chariots 7393, in litters 6632a, on mules 6505 and on camels 3753, to My holy 6944 mountain 2022 Jerusalem 3389,” says 559 the LORD 3068, “just 3512c as the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 bring 935 their grain offering 4503 in a clean 2889 vessel 3627 to the house 1004 of the LORD 3068.

 66:21 “I will also 1571 take 3947 some 4480 of them for priests 3548 [and] for Levites 3881,” says 559 the LORD 3068.

 66:22 “For just 3512c as the new 2319 heavens 8064 and the new 2319 earth 776 Which 834 I make 6213a will endure 5975 before 6440 Me,” declares 5002 the LORD 3068, “So 3651 your offspring 2233 and your name 8034 will endure 5975.

 66:23 “And it shall be from new 2320 moon 2320 to new 2320 moon 2320 And from sabbath 7676 to sabbath 7676, All 3605 mankind 1320 will come 935 to bow 7812 down 7812 before 6440 Me,” says 559 the LORD 3068.

 66:24 “Then they will go 3318 forth 3318 and look 7200 On the corpses 6297 of the men 376 Who have transgressed 6586 against Me. For their worm 8439b will not die 4191 And their fire 784 will not be quenched 3518; And they will be an abhorrence 1860 to all 3605 mankind 1320.”
