 19:1 ¶ Thusº saithºº Yähwè יָהוֶה,º Goºº and getºº a potter'sºº earthenº bottle,º and [take] of the ancientsºº of the people,º and of the ancientsºº of the priests;º

 19:1 ¶ Thus saith Yahweh, Go and get a potter's earthen bottle, and [take] of the ancients of the people, and of the ancients of the priests;

 19:2 And go forthºº untoº the valleyº of the sonº of Hinnöm הִנֹּם,º whichº [is] by the entryº of the eastº gate,º and proclaimºº thereºº the wordsº thatº I shall tellººº thee,

 19:2 And go forth unto the valley of the son of Hinnom, which [is] by the entry of the east gate, and proclaim there the words that I shall tell thee,

 19:3 And say,ºº Hearºº ye the wordº of Yähwè יָהוֶה,º O kingsº of Yæhûðà יְהוּדָה,º and inhabitantsºº of Yærûšälaim יְרוּשָׁלִַם;º Thusº saithºº Yähwè יָהוֶהº Xævä´ô± צְבָאוֹת,º the ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº of Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל;º Behold,º I will bringºº evilº uponº thisº place,º the whichº whosoeverº heareth,ºº his earsº shall tingle.ºº

 19:3 And say, Hear ye the word of Yahweh, O kings of Yehudah, and inhabitants of Yerushalaim; Thus saith Yahweh Tzevaoth, the Elohim of Yisrael; Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, the which whosoever heareth, his ears shall tingle.

 19:4 Becauseºº they have forsakenºº me, and have estrangedººº thisº place,º and have burned incenseºº in it unto otherº ´élöhîm אֱלֹהִים,º whomº neitherº theyº nor their fathersº have known,ºº nor the kingsº of Yæhûðà יְהוּדָה,º and have filledººº thisº placeº with the bloodº of innocents;º

 19:4 Because they have forsaken me, and have estranged this place, and have burned incense in it unto other elohim, whom neither they nor their fathers have known, nor the kings of Yehudah, and have filled this place with the blood of innocents;

 19:5 They have builtºº alsoº the high placesº of Bä`al בָּעַל,º to burnººº their sonsº with fireº [for] burnt offeringsº unto Bä`al בָּעַל,º whichº I commandedºº not,º norº spakeºº [it], neitherº cameºº [it] intoº my mind:º

 19:5 They have built also the high places of Baal, to burn their sons with fire [for] burnt offerings unto Baal, which I commanded not, nor spake [it], neither came [it] into my mind:

 19:6 Therefore,º behold,º the daysº come,ºº saithºº Yähwè יָהוֶה,º that thisº placeº shall noº moreº be calledºº Töfe± תֹּפֶת,º nor The valleyº of the sonº of Hinnöm הִנֹּם,º butºº The valleyº of slaughter.º

 19:6 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith Yahweh, that this place shall no more be called Tofeth, nor The valley of the son of Hinnom, but The valley of slaughter.

 19:7 And I will make voidººº the counselº of Yæhûðà יְהוּדָהº and Yærûšälaim יְרוּשָׁלִַםº in thisº place;º and I will cause them to fallºº by the swordº beforeº their enemies,ºº and by the handsº of them that seekºº their lives:º andº their carcasesº will I giveºº to be meatº for the fowlsº of the heaven,º and for the beastsº of the earth.º

 19:7 And I will make void the counsel of Yehudah and Yerushalaim in this place; and I will cause them to fall by the sword before their enemies, and by the hands of them that seek their lives: and their carcases will I give to be meat for the fowls of the heaven, and for the beasts of the earth.

 19:8 And I will makeººº thisº cityº desolate,º and an hissing;º every oneº that passethºº therebyº shall be astonishedºº and hissºº becauseº of allº the plaguesº thereof.

 19:8 And I will make this city desolate, and an hissing; every one that passeth thereby shall be astonished and hiss because of all the plagues thereof.

 19:9 And I will cause them to eatººº the fleshº of their sonsº and the fleshº of their daughters,º and they shall eatºº every oneº the fleshº of his friendº in the siegeº and straitness,º wherewithº their enemies,ºº and they that seekºº their lives,º shall straitenºº them.

 19:9 And I will cause them to eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters, and they shall eat every one the flesh of his friend in the siege and straitness, wherewith their enemies, and they that seek their lives, shall straiten them.

 19:10 Then shalt thou breakºº the bottleº in the sightº of the menºº that goºº withº thee,

 19:10 Then shalt thou break the bottle in the sight of the men that go with thee,

 19:11 And shalt sayºº untoº them, Thusº saithºº Yähwè יָהוֶהº Xævä´ô± צְבָאוֹת;º Even soº will I breakººº thisº peopleº and thisº city,º asº [one] breakethººº a potter'sºº vessel,º thatº cannotººº be made wholeº again:ººº and they shall buryºº [them] in Töfe± תֹּפֶת,º till [there be] noºº placeº to bury.ºº

 19:11 And shalt say unto them, Thus saith Yahweh Tzevaoth; Even so will I break this people and this city, as [one] breaketh a potter's vessel, that cannot be made whole again: and they shall bury [them] in Tofeth, till [there be] no place to bury.

 19:12 Thusº will I doºº unto thisº place,º saithºº Yähwè יָהוֶה,º and to the inhabitantsºº thereof, and [even] makeººº thisº cityº as Töfe± תֹּפֶת:º

 19:12 Thus will I do unto this place, saith Yahweh, and to the inhabitants thereof, and [even] make this city as Tofeth:

 19:13 And the housesº of Yærûšälaim יְרוּשָׁלִַם,º and the housesº of the kingsº of Yæhûðà יְהוּדָה,º shall beº defiledº as the placeº of Töfe± תֹּפֶת,º because of allº the housesº uponº whoseº roofsº they have burned incenseºº unto allº the hostº of heaven,º and have poured outºº drink offeringsº unto otherº ´élöhîm אֱלֹהִים.º

 19:13 And the houses of Yerushalaim, and the houses of the kings of Yehudah, shall be defiled as the place of Tofeth, because of all the houses upon whose roofs they have burned incense unto all the host of heaven, and have poured out drink offerings unto other elohim.

 19:14 Then cameºº Yirmæyà יִרמְיָהº from Töfe± תֹּפֶת,ºº whitherºº Yähwè יָהוֶהº had sentºº him to prophesy;ºº and he stoodºº in the courtº of Yähwè's יָהוֶהº house;º and saidºº toº allº the people,º

 19:14 Then came Yirmeyah from Tofeth, whither Yahweh had sent him to prophesy; and he stood in the court of Yahweh's house; and said to all the people,

 19:15 Thusº saithºº Yähwè יָהוֶהº Xævä´ô± צְבָאוֹת,º the ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº of Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל;º Behold,º I will bringºº uponº thisº cityº and uponº allº her townsºº allº the evilº thatº I have pronouncedºº againstº it, becauseº they have hardenedººº their necks,º that they might notº hearººº my words.º

 19:15 Thus saith Yahweh Tzevaoth, the Elohim of Yisrael; Behold, I will bring upon this city and upon all her towns all the evil that I have pronounced against it, because they have hardened their necks, that they might not hear my words.
