 45:1 ¶ The wordº thatº Yirmæyà יִרמְיָהº the prophetº spakeºº untoº Bärû¢ בָּרוּךº the sonº of Nëriyyà נֵרִיָּה,º when he had writtenººº theseº wordsº inº a bookº at the mouthºº of Yirmæyà יִרמְיָה,º in the fourthº yearº of Yæhôyäkîm יְהוֹיָקִיםº the sonº of Yö´šiyyà יֹאשִׁיָּהº kingº of Yæhûðà יְהוּדָה,º saying,ºº

 45:1 ¶ The word that Yirmeyah the prophet spake unto Barukh the son of Neriyyah, when he had written these words in a book at the mouth of Yirmeyah, in the fourth year of Yehoyaqim the son of Yoshiyyah king of Yehudah, saying,

 45:2 Thusº saithºº Yähwè יָהוֶה,º the ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº of Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל,º untoº thee, O Bärû¢ בָּרוּך;º

 45:2 Thus saith Yahweh, the Elohim of Yisrael, unto thee, O Barukh;

 45:3 Thou didst say,ºº Woeº is me now!º forº Yähwè יָהוֶהº hath addedºº griefº toº my sorrow;º I faintedºº in my sighing,º and I findºº noº rest.º

 45:3 Thou didst say, Woe is me now! for Yahweh hath added grief to my sorrow; I fainted in my sighing, and I find no rest.

 45:4 ¶ Thusº shalt thou sayºº untoº him, Yähwè יָהוֶהº saithºº thus;º Behold,º [that] whichº I have builtºº will Iº break down,ºº and that whichº I have plantedºº Iº will pluck up,ºº even thisº wholeº land.º

 45:4 ¶ Thus shalt thou say unto him, Yahweh saith thus; Behold, [that] which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up, even this whole land.

 45:5 And seekestºº thouº great thingsº for thyself? seekºº [them] not:º for,º behold,º I will bringºº evilº uponº allº flesh,º saithºº Yähwè יָהוֶה:º butº thy lifeº will I giveºº unto thee for a preyº inº allº placesº whitherºº thou goest.ººº

 45:5 And seekest thou great things for thyself? seek [them] not: for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith Yahweh: but thy life will I give unto thee for a prey in all places whither thou goest.
