 10:1 ¶ Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the fold of the sheep, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

 10:1 ¶ Verily,º verily,º I sayºº unto you,º He that enterethºº notº byº theº doorº intoº theº sheepfold,ºº butº climbeth upºº some other way,º the sameº isºº a thiefº andº a robber.º

 10:2 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.

 10:2 Butº he that entereth inºº byº theº doorº isºº theº shepherdº of theº sheep.º

 10:3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.

 10:3 To himº theº porterº openeth;ºº andº theº sheepº hearºº hisº voice:º andº he callethºº his ownº sheepº byº name,º andº leadethºº themº out.ººº

 10:4 When he hath put forth all his own, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.

 10:4 Andº whenº he putteth forthºº his ownº sheep,º he goethºº beforeº them,º andº theº sheepº followºº him:º forº they knowºº hisº voice.º

 10:5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

 10:5 Andº a strangerº will theyºº notº follow,ºº butº will fleeºº fromº him:º forº they knowºº notº theº voiceº of strangers.º

 10:6 This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.

 10:6 Thisº parableº spakeºº Jesusº unto them:º butº theyº understoodºº notº what thingsº they wereºº whichº he spakeºº unto them.º

 10:7 Jesus therefore said unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.

 10:7 Thenº saidºº Jesusº unto themº again,º Verily,º verily,º I sayºº unto you,ºº Iº amºº theº doorº of theº sheep.º

 10:8 All that came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.

 10:8 Allº thatº everº cameºº beforeº meº areºº thievesº andº robbers:º butº theº sheepº didºº notº hearºº them.º

 10:9 I am the door; by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and go out, and shall find pasture.

 10:9 Iº amºº theº door:º byº meº ifº any manº enter in,ºº he shall be saved,ºº andº shall go inºº andº out,ºº andº findºº pasture.º

 10:10 The thief cometh not, but that he may steal, and kill, and destroy: I came that they may have life, and may have [it] abundantly.

 10:10 Theº thiefº comethºº not,º butº for toº steal,ºº andº to kill,ºº andº to destroy:ºº Iº am comeºº thatº they might haveºº life,º andº that they might haveºº [it] more abundantly.º

 10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd layeth down his life for the sheep.

 10:11 Iº amºº theº goodº shepherd:º theº goodº shepherdº givethºº hisº lifeº forº theº sheep.º

 10:12 He that is a hireling, and not a shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, beholdeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth, and the wolf snatcheth them, and scattereth [them]:

 10:12 Butº he that isºº an hireling,º andº notº theº shepherd,º whoseºº ownº theº sheepº areºº not,º seethºº theº wolfº coming,ºº andº leavethºº theº sheep,º andº fleeth:ºº andº theº wolfº catchethºº them,º andº scatterethºº theº sheep.º

 10:13 [he fleeth] because he is a hireling, and careth not for the sheep.

 10:13 º Theº hirelingº fleeth,ºº becauseº he isºº an hireling,º andº carethºº notº forº theº sheep.º

 10:14 I am the good shepherd; and I know mine own, and mine own know me,

 10:14 Iº amºº theº goodº shepherd,º andº knowºº myº [sheep], andº am knownºº ofº mine.º

 10:15 even as the Father knoweth me, and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.

 10:15 Asº theº Fatherº knowethºº me,º even soºº knowºº Iºº theº Father:º andº I lay downºº myº lifeº forº theº sheep.º

 10:16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice: and they shall become one flock, one shepherd.

 10:16 Andº otherº sheepº I have,ºº whichº areºº notº ofº thisº fold:º them alsoº Iº mustºº bring,ºº andº they shall hearºº myº voice;º andº there shall beºº oneº fold,º [and] oneº shepherd.º

 10:17 Therefore doth the Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I may take it again.

 10:17 Thereforeºº dothºº my Fatherº loveºº me,º becauseº Iº lay downºº myº life,º thatº I might takeºº itº again.º

 10:18 No one taketh it away from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment received I from my Father.

 10:18 No manº takethºº itº fromº me,º butº Iº layºº itº downººº ofº myself.º I haveºº powerº to layºº itº down,ººº andº I haveºº powerº to takeºº itº again.º Thisº commandmentº have I receivedºº ofº myº Father.º

 10:19 ¶ There arose a division again among the Jews because of these words.

 10:19 ¶ There wasºº a divisionº thereforeº againº amongº theº Jewsº forº theseº sayings.º

 10:20 And many of them said, He hath a demon, and is mad; why hear ye him?

 10:20 Andº manyº ofº themº said,ºº He hathºº a devil,º andº is mad;ºº whyº hearº yeºº him?º

 10:21 Others said, These are not the sayings of one possessed with a demon. Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?

 10:21 Othersº said,ºº Theseº areºº notº theº wordsº of him that hath a devil.ºº Canººº aº devilº openºº the eyesº of the blind?º

 10:22 ¶ And it was the feast of the dedication at Jerusalem:

 10:22 ¶ Andº it wasºº atº Jerusalemº theº feast of the dedication,º andº it wasºº winter.º

 10:23 it was winter; and Jesus was walking in the temple in Solomon's porch.

 10:23 Andº Jesusº walkedºº inº theº templeº inº Solomon'sº porch.º

 10:24 The Jews therefore came round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou hold us in suspense? If thou art the Christ, tell us plainly.

 10:24 Thenº cameºº the Jewsº round aboutºººº him,º andº saidºº unto him,º How longºº dost thou makeºº usº to doubt?ººº Ifº thouº beºº theº Christ,º tellºº usº plainly.º

 10:25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believe not: the works that I do in my Father's name, these bear witness of me.

 10:25 Jesusº answeredºº them,º I toldºº you,º andº ye believedºº not:º theº worksº thatº Iº doºº inº myº Father'sº name,º theyº bear witnessºº ofº me.º

 10:26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep.

 10:26 Butº yeº believeºº not,º becauseº ye areºº notº ofº myº sheep,º asº I saidºº unto you.º

 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

 10:27 Myº sheepº hearºº myº voice,º and Iº knowºº them,º andº they followºº me:º

 10:28 and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, and no one shall snatch them out of my hand.

 10:28 And Iº giveºº unto themº eternalº life;º andº they shallºº neverººº perish,ºº neitherºº shallºº anyº [man] pluckºº themº out ofº myº hand.º

 10:29 My Father, who hath given [them] unto me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch [them] out of the Father's hand.

 10:29 Myº Father,º whichº gaveºº [them] me,º isºº greaterº thanº all;º andº noº [man] is ableºº to pluckºº [them] out ofº myº Father'sº hand.º

 10:30 I and the Father are one.

 10:30 Iº andº [my] Fatherº areºº one.º

 10:31 The Jews took up stones again to stone him.

 10:31 Thenº theº Jewsº took upºº stonesº againº toº stoneºº him.º

 10:32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I showed you from the Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?

 10:32 Jesusº answeredºº them,º Manyº goodº worksº have I shewedºº youº fromº myº Father;º forº whichº of thoseº worksº do ye stoneºº me?º

 10:33 The Jews answered him, For a good work we stone thee not, but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

 10:33 Theº Jewsº answeredºº him,º saying,ºº Forº a goodº workº we stoneºº theeº not;º butº forº blasphemy;º andº becauseº that thou,º beingºº a man,º makestºº thyselfº God.º

 10:34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, ye are gods?

 10:34 Jesusº answeredºº them,º Isº itºº notº writtenºº inº yourº law,º Iº said,ºº Ye areºº gods?º

 10:35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came (and the scripture cannot be broken),

 10:35 Ifº he calledºº themº gods,º untoº whomº theº wordº of Godº came,ºº andº theº scriptureº cannotººº be broken;ºº

 10:36 say ye of him, whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am [the] Son of God?

 10:36 Sayºº yeº of him, whomº theº Fatherº hath sanctified,ºº andº sentºº intoº theº world,ºº Thou blasphemest;ºº becauseº I said,ººº I amºº the Sonº of God?º

 10:37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.

 10:37 Ifº I doºº notº theº worksº of myº Father,º believeºº meº not.º

 10:38 But if I do them, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.

 10:38 Butº ifº I do,ºº thoughº ye believeºº notº me,º believeºº theº works:º thatº ye may know,ºº andº believe,ºº thatº theº Fatherº [is] inº me,º and Iº inº him.º

 10:39 They sought again to take him: and he went forth out of their hand.

 10:39 Thereforeº they soughtºº againº to takeºº him:º butº he escapedºº out ofº theirº hand,º

 10:40 And he went away again beyond the Jordan into the place where John was at the first baptizing; and there be abode.

 10:40 Andº went awayºº againº beyondº Jordanº intoº theº placeº whereº Johnº at firstº baptized;ºººº andº thereº he abode.ºº

 10:41 And many came unto him; and they said, John indeed did no sign: but all things whatsoever John spake of this man were true.

 10:41 Andº manyº resortedºº untoº him,º andº said,ººº Johnº didºº noºº miracle:º butº all thingsº thatº Johnº spakeºº ofº this manº wereºº true.º

 10:42 And many believed on him there.

 10:42 Andº manyº believedºº onº himº there.º
