Jeremiah 27
1 Under the type of bonds and yokes, he prophesieth the subduing of the neighbour kings unto Nebuchadnezzar. 8 He exhorteth them to yield, and not to believe the false prophets. 12 The like he doeth to Zedekiah. 19 He foretelleth the remnant of the vessels shall be carried to Babylon, and there continue until the day of visitation.
27:1
In the beginning 7225 of the reign 4467 of Zedekiah 6667 the son 1121 of Josiah 2977, king 4428 of Judah 3063, this 2088 word 1697 came 1961 to Jeremiah 3414 from the LORD 3068, saying 559—
27:2
thus 3541 says 559 the LORD 3068 to me—“Make 6213a for yourself bonds 4147 and yokes 4133 and put 5414 them on your neck 6677,
27:3
and send 7971 word to the king 4428 of Edom 112b, to the king 4428 of Moab 4124, to the king 4428 of the sons 1121 of Ammon 5983, to the king 4428 of Tyre 6865 and to the king 4428 of Sidon 6721 by the messengers 4397 who come 935 to Jerusalem 3389 to Zedekiah 6667 king 4428 of Judah 3063.
27:4
“Command 6680 them [to go] to their masters 113, saying 559, ‘Thus 3541 says 559 the LORD 3068 of hosts 6635, the God 430 of Israel 3478, thus 3541 you shall say 559 to your masters 113,
27:5
“I have made 6213a the earth 776, the men 120 and the beasts 929 which 834 are on the face 6440 of the earth 776 by My great 1419 power 3581b and by My outstretched 5186 arm 2220, and I will give 5414 it to the one who 834 is pleasing 3474 in My sight 5869.
27:6
“Now 6258 I have given 5414 all 3605 these 428 lands 776 into the hand 3027 of Nebuchadnezzar 5019 king 4428 of Babylon 894, My servant 5650, and I have given 5414 him also 1571 the wild 2421b animals 2421b of the field 7704 to serve 5647 him.
27:7
“All 3605 the nations 1471 shall serve 5647 him and his son 1121 and his grandson 1121 until 5704 the time 6256 of his own land 776 comes 935; then many 7227a nations 1471 and great 1419 kings 4428 will make 5647 him their servant 5647.
27:8
¶ “It will be, [that] the nation 1471 or the kingdom 4467 which 834 will not serve 5647 him, Nebuchadnezzar 5019 king 4428 of Babylon 894, and which 834 will not put 5414 its neck 6677 under the yoke 5923 of the king 4428 of Babylon 894, I will punish 6485 that nation 1471 with the sword 2719, with famine 7458 and with pestilence 1698,” declares 5002 the LORD 3068, “until 5704 I have destroyed 8552 it by his hand 3027.
27:9
“But as for you, do not listen 8085 to your prophets 5030, your diviners 7080, your dreamers 2472, your soothsayers 6049a or your sorcerers 3786 who 834 speak 559 to you, saying 559, ‘You will not serve 5647 the king 4428 of Babylon 894.’
27:10
“For they prophesy 5012 a lie 8267 to you in order 4616 to remove 7368 you far 7368 from your land 127; and I will drive 5080 you out and you will perish 6.
27:11
“But the nation 1471 which 834 will bring 935 its neck 6677 under the yoke 5923 of the king 4428 of Babylon 894 and serve 5647 him, I will let remain 5117 on its land 127,” declares 5002 the LORD 3068, “and they will till 5647 it and dwell 3427 in it.”’”
27:12
¶ I spoke 1696 words 1697 like all 3605 these 428 to Zedekiah 6667 king 4428 of Judah 3063, saying 559, “Bring 935 your necks 6677 under the yoke 5923 of the king 4428 of Babylon 894 and serve 5647 him and his people 5971a, and live 2421a!
27:13
“Why 4100 will you die 4191, you and your people 5971a, by the sword 2719, famine 7458 and pestilence 1698, as the LORD 3068 has spoken 1696 to that nation 1471 which 834 will not serve 5647 the king 4428 of Babylon 894?
27:14
“So do not listen 8085 to the words 1697 of the prophets 5030 who speak 559 to you, saying 559, ‘You will not serve 5647 the king 4428 of Babylon 894,’ for they prophesy 5012 a lie 8267 to you;
27:15
for I have not sent 7971 them,” declares 5002 the LORD 3068, “but they prophesy 5012 falsely 8267 in My name 8034, in order 4616 that I may drive 5080 you out and that you may perish 6, you and the prophets 5030 who prophesy 5012 to you.”
27:16
¶ [Then] I spoke 1696 to the priests 3548 and to all 3605 this 2088 people 5971a, saying 559, “Thus 3541 says 559 the LORD 3068: Do not listen 8085 to the words 1697 of your prophets 5030 who prophesy 5012 to you, saying 559, ‘Behold 2009, the vessels 3627 of the LORD’S 3068 house 1004 will now 6258 shortly 4120 be brought 7725 again 7725 from Babylon 894’; for they are prophesying 5012 a lie 8267 to you.
27:17
“Do not listen 8085 to them; serve 5647 the king 4428 of Babylon 894, and live 2421a! Why 4100 should this 384 city 5892b become 1961 a ruin 2723?
27:18
“But if 518 they are prophets 5030, and if 518 the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 is with them, let them now 4994 entreat 6293 the LORD 3068 of hosts 6635 that the vessels 3627 which are left 3498 in the house 1004 of the LORD 3068, in the house 1004 of the king 4428 of Judah 3063 and in Jerusalem 3389 may not go 935 to Babylon 894.
27:19
“For thus 3541 says 559 the LORD 3068 of hosts 6635 concerning 413 the pillars 5982, concerning 5921 the sea 3220, concerning 5921 the stands 4350 and concerning 5921 the rest 3499a of the vessels 3627 that are left 3498 in this 384 city 5892b,
27:20
which 834 Nebuchadnezzar 5019 king 4428 of Babylon 894 did not take 3947 when he carried 1540 into exile 1540 Jeconiah 3204 the son 1121 of Jehoiakim 3079, king 4428 of Judah 3063, from Jerusalem 3389 to Babylon 894, and all 3605 the nobles 2715 of Judah 3063 and Jerusalem 3389.
27:21
“Yes 3588, thus 3541 says 559 the LORD 3068 of hosts 6635, the God 430 of Israel 3478, concerning 5921 the vessels 3627 that are left 3498 in the house 1004 of the LORD 3068 and in the house 1004 of the king 4428 of Judah 3063 and in Jerusalem 3389,
27:22
‘They will be carried 935 to Babylon 894 and they will be there 8033 until 5704 the day 3117 I visit 6485 them,’ declares 5002 the LORD 3068. ‘Then I will bring 5927 them back 5927 and restore 7725 them to this 2088 place 4725.’”
