Jeremiah 28

1 Hananiah prophesieth falsely the return of the vessels, and of Jeconiah. 5 Jeremiah, wishing it to be true, sheweth that the event will declare who are the true prophets. 10 Hananiah breaketh Jeremiah's yoke. 12 Jeremiah telleth of an iron yoke, 15 and foretelleth Hananiah's death.

 28:1 Now in the same 1931 year 8141, in the beginning 7225 of the reign 4467 of Zedekiah 6667 king 4428 of Judah 3063, in the fourth 7243 year 8141, in the fifth 2549 month 2320, Hananiah 2608a the son 1121 of Azzur 5809, the prophet 5030, who 834 was from Gibeon 1391, spoke 559 to me in the house 1004 of the LORD 3068 in the presence 5869 of the priests 3548 and all 3605 the people 5971a, saying 559,

 28:2 “Thus 3541 says 559 the LORD 3068 of hosts 6635, the God 430 of Israel 3478, ‘I have broken 7665 the yoke 5923 of the king 4428 of Babylon 894.

 28:3 ‘Within 5750 two 8145 years 8141 I am going to bring 7725 back 7725 to this 2088 place 4725 all 3605 the vessels 3627 of the LORD’S 3068 house 1004, which 834 Nebuchadnezzar 5019 king 4428 of Babylon 894 took 3947 away 3947 from this 2088 place 4725 and carried 935 to Babylon 894.

 28:4 ‘I am also going to bring 7725 back 7725 to this 2088 place 4725 Jeconiah 3204 the son 1121 of Jehoiakim 3079, king 4428 of Judah 3063, and all 3605 the exiles 1546 of Judah 3063 who went 935 to Babylon 894,’ declares 5002 the LORD 3068, ‘for I will break 7665 the yoke 5923 of the king 4428 of Babylon 894.’”

 28:5 ¶ Then the prophet 5030 Jeremiah 3414 spoke 559 to the prophet 5030 Hananiah 2608a in the presence 5869 of the priests 3548 and in the presence 5869 of all 3605 the people 5971a who were standing 5975 in the house 1004 of the LORD 3068,

 28:6 and the prophet 5030 Jeremiah 3414 said 559, “Amen 543! May the LORD 3068 do 6213a so 3651; may the LORD 3068 confirm 6965 your words 1697 which 834 you have prophesied 5012 to bring 7725 back 7725 the vessels 3627 of the LORD’S 3068 house 1004 and all 3605 the exiles 1473, from Babylon 894 to this 2088 place 4725.

 28:7 “Yet 389 hear 8085 now 4994 this 2088 word 1697 which 834 I am about to speak 1696 in your hearing 241 and in the hearing 241 of all 3605 the people 5971a!

 28:8 “The prophets 5030 who 834 were before 6440 me and before 6440 you from ancient 5769 times 5769 prophesied 5012 against 413 many 7227a lands 776 and against 5921 great 1419 kingdoms 4467, of war 4421 and of calamity 7463a and of pestilence 1698.

 28:9 “The prophet 5030 who 834 prophesies 5012 of peace 7965, when the word 1697 of the prophet 5030 comes 935 to pass 935, then that prophet 5030 will be known 3045 [as] one whom 834 the LORD 3068 has truly 571 sent 7971.”

 28:10 ¶ Then Hananiah 2608a the prophet 5030 took 3947 the yoke 4133 from the neck 6677 of Jeremiah 3414 the prophet 5030 and broke 7665 it.

 28:11 Hananiah 2608a spoke 559 in the presence 5869 of all 3605 the people 5971a, saying 559, “Thus 3541 says 559 the LORD 3068, ‘Even 3602 so 3602 will I break 7665 within 5750 two 8145 full 3117 years 8141 the yoke 5923 of Nebuchadnezzar 5019 king 4428 of Babylon 894 from the neck 6677 of all 3605 the nations 1471.’” Then the prophet 5030 Jeremiah 3414 went 1980 his way 1870.

 28:12 ¶ The word 1697 of the LORD 3068 came 1961 to Jeremiah 3414 after 310 Hananiah 2608a the prophet 5030 had broken 7665 the yoke 4133 from off 5921 the neck 6677 of the prophet 5030 Jeremiah 3414, saying 559,

 28:13 “Go 1980 and speak 559 to Hananiah 2608a, saying 559, ‘Thus 3541 says 559 the LORD 3068, “You have broken 7665 the yokes 4133 of wood 6086, but you have made 6213a instead 8478 of them yokes 4133 of iron 1270.”

 28:14 ‘For thus 3541 says 559 the LORD 3068 of hosts 6635, the God 430 of Israel 3478, “I have put 5414 a yoke 5923 of iron 1270 on the neck 6677 of all 3605 these 428 nations 1471, that they may serve 5647 Nebuchadnezzar 5019 king 4428 of Babylon 894; and they will serve 5647 him. And I have also 1571 given 5414 him the beasts 2421b of the field 7704.”’”

 28:15 Then Jeremiah 3414 the prophet 5030 said 559 to Hananiah 2608a the prophet 5030, “Listen 8085 now 4994, Hananiah 2608a, the LORD 3068 has not sent 7971 you, and you have made this 2088 people 5971a trust 982 in a lie 8267.

 28:16 “Therefore 3651 thus 3541 says 559 the LORD 3068, ‘Behold 2009, I am about to remove 7971 you from the face 6440 of the earth 127. This year 8141 you are going to die 4191, because 3588 you have counseled 1696 rebellion 5627 against 413 the LORD 3068.’”

 28:17 ¶ So Hananiah 2608a the prophet 5030 died 4191 in the same 1931 year 8141 in the seventh 7637 month 2320.
