 14:1 ¶ Ye are the children of the Lord your God: ye shall not make any baldness between you eyes for the dead.

 14:1 ¶ Yeº [are] the childrenº of Yahwehº your Elohim:º ye shall notº cutºº yourselves,º norº makeºº any baldnessº betweenº your eyesº for the dead.ºº

 14:2 For thou art a holy people to the Lord thy God, and the Lord thy God has chosen thee to be a peculiar people to himself of all the nations on the face of the earth.

 14:2 Forº thouº [art] an holyº peopleº unto Yahwehº thy Elohim,º and Yahwehº hath chosenºº thee to beº a peculiarº peopleº unto himself, above allºº the nationsº thatº [are] uponºº the earth.º

 14:3 ¶ Ye shall not eat any abominable thing.

 14:3 ¶ Thou shalt notº eatºº anyº abominable thing.º

 14:4 These [are] the beasts which ye shall eat; the calf of the herd, and lamb of the sheep, and kid of the goats;

 14:4 Theseº [are] the beastsº whichº ye shall eat:ºº the ox,º the sheep,ºº and the goat,ºº

 14:5 the stag, and doe, and pygarg, and wild goat, and camelopard.

 14:5 The hart,º and the roebuck,º and the fallow deer,º and the wild goat,º and the pygarg,º and the wild ox,º and the chamois.º

 14:6 Every beast that divides the hoofs, and makes claws of two divisions, and that chews the cud among beasts, these ye shall eat.

 14:6 And everyº beastº that partethºº the hoof,º and cleavethºº the cleftººº into twoº claws,º [and] chewethºº the cudº among the beasts,º that ye shall eat.ºº

 14:7 And these ye shall not eat of them that chew the cud, and of those that divide the hoofs, and make distinct claws; the camel, and the hare, and the rabbit; because they chew the cud, and do not divide the hoof, these are unclean to you.

 14:7 Neverthelessºº theseº ye shall notº eatºº of them that chewººº the cud,º or of them that divideººº the clovenºº hoof;º [as]º the camel,º and the hare,º and the coney:º forº theyº chewºº the cud,º but divideºº notº the hoof;º [therefore] theyº [are] uncleanº unto you.

 14:8 And as for the swine, because he divides the hoof, and makes claws of the hoof, yet he chews not the cud, he is unclean to you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, ye shall not touch their dead bodies.

 14:8 And the swine,º becauseº itº dividethºº the hoof,º yet cheweth notº the cud,º itº [is] uncleanº unto you: ye shall notº eatºº of their flesh,ºº norº touchºº their dead carcase.º

 14:9 ¶ And these ye shall eat of all that are in the water, ye shall eat all that have fins and scales.

 14:9 ¶ º Theseº ye shall eatºº of allºº thatº [are] in the waters:º allº thatº have finsº and scalesº shall ye eat:ºº

 14:10 And all that have not fins and scales ye shall not eat; they are unclean to you.

 14:10 And whatsoeverºº hath notº finsº and scalesº ye may notº eat;ºº itº [is] uncleanº unto you.

 14:11 ¶ Ye shall eat every clean bird.

 14:11 ¶ [Of] allº cleanº birdsº ye shall eat.ºº

 14:12 And these of them ye shall not eat; the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the sea-eagle,

 14:12 But theseº [are they] of whichº ye shall notº eat:ºº the eagle,º and the ossifrage,º and the ospray,º

 14:13 and the vulture, and the kite and the like to it,

 14:13 And the glede,º and the kite,º and the vultureº after his kind,º

 14:15 and the sparrow, and the owl, and the seamew,

 14:17 and the cormorant, and the hawk, and its like, and the hoopoe, and the raven,

 14:17 And the pelican,º and the gier eagle,º and the cormorant,º

 14:18 and the pelican, and the diver and the like to it, and the red-bill and the bat.

 14:18 And the stork,º and the heronº after her kind,º and the lapwing,º and the bat.º

 14:19 All winged animals that creep are unclean to you; ye shall not eat of them.

 14:19 And everyº creeping thingº that fliethº [is] uncleanº unto you: they shall notº be eaten.ºº

 14:20 Ye shall eat every clean bird.

 14:20 [But of] allº cleanº fowlsº ye may eat.ºº

 14:21 ¶ Ye shall eat nothing that dies of itself; it shall be given to the sojourner in thy cities and he shall eat it, or thou shalt sell it to a stranger, because thou art a holy people to the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not boil a lamb in his mother's milk.

 14:21 ¶ Ye shall notº eatºº [of] anyº thing that dieth of itself:º thou shalt giveºº it unto the strangerº thatº [is] in thy gates,º that he may eatºº it; orº thou mayest sellºº it unto an alien:º forº thouº [art] an holyº peopleº unto Yahwehº thy Elohim.º Thou shalt notº seetheºº a kidº in his mother'sº milk.º

 14:22 Thou shalt tithe a tenth of all the produce of thy seed, the fruit of thy field year by year.

 14:22 Thou shalt trulyºº titheººº allº the increaseº of thy seed,º that the fieldº bringeth forthºº yearº by year.º

 14:23 And thou shalt eat it in the place which the Lord thy God shall choose to have his name called there; ye shall bring the tithe of thy corn and of thy wine, and of thine oil, the first-born of thy herd and of thy flock, that thou mayest learn to fear the Lord thy God always.

 14:23 And thou shalt eatºº beforeº Yahwehº thy Elohim,º in the placeº whichº he shall chooseºº to placeºº his nameº there,º the titheº of thy corn,º of thy wine,º and of thine oil,º and the firstlingsº of thy herdsº and of thy flocks;º thatº thou mayest learnºº to fearººº Yahwehº thy Elohimº always.ºº

 14:24 And if the journey be too far for thee, and thou art not able to bring them, because the place [is] far from thee which the Lord thy God shall choose to have his name called there, because the Lord thy God will bless thee;

 14:24 And ifº the wayº be too longºº forº thee, so thatº thou art not ableººº to carryºº it; [or] ifº the placeº be too farºº fromº thee, whichº Yahwehº thy Elohimº shall chooseºº to setºº his nameº there,º whenº Yahwehº thy Elohimº hath blessedºº thee:

 14:25 then thou shalt sell them for money, and thou shalt take the money in thy hands, and thou shalt go to the place which the Lord thy God shall choose.

 14:25 Then shalt thou turnºº [it] into money,º and bind upºº the moneyº in thine hand,º and shalt goºº untoº the placeº whichº Yahwehº thy Elohimº shall choose:ºº

 14:26 And thou shalt give the money for whatsoever thy soul shall desire, for oxen or for sheep, or for wine, or [thou shalt lay it out] on strong drink, or on whatsoever thy soul may desire, and thou shalt eat there before the Lord thy God, and thou shalt rejoice and thy house,

 14:26 And thou shalt bestowºº that moneyº for whatsoeverºº thy soulº lusteth after,ºº for oxen,º or for sheep,º or for wine,º or for strong drink,º or for whatsoeverºº thy soulº desireth:ºº and thou shalt eatºº thereº beforeº Yahwehº thy Elohim,º and thou shalt rejoice,ºº thou,º and thine household,º

 14:27 and the Levite that is in thy cities, because he has not a portion or inheritance with thee.

 14:27 And the Leviteº thatº [is] within thy gates;º thou shalt notº forsakeºº him; forº he hath noº partº nor inheritanceº withº thee.

 14:28 ¶ After three years thou shalt bring out all the tithes of thy fruits, in that year thou shalt lay it up in thy cities.

 14:28 ¶ At the endºº of threeº yearsº thou shalt bring forthººº allº the titheº of thine increaseº the sameº year,º and shalt lay [it] upººº within thy gates:º

 14:29 And the Levite shall come, because he has no part or lot with thee, and the stranger, and the orphan, and the widow which is in thy cities; and they shall eat and be filled, that the Lord thy God may bless thee in all the works which thou shalt do.

 14:29 And the Levite,º (becauseº he hath noº partº nor inheritanceº withº thee,) and the stranger,º and the fatherless,º and the widow,º whichº [are] within thy gates,º shall come,ºº and shall eatºº and be satisfied;ºº thatº Yahwehº thy Elohimº may blessºº thee in allº the workº of thine handº whichº thou doest.ºº
