 4:1 ¶ And the Lord spoke to Mosheh{gr.Moses} and Aaron, saying,

 4:1 ¶ And Yahwehº spakeºº untoº Mosesº and untoº Aaron,º saying,ºº

 4:2 Take the sum of the children of Kohath{gr.Caath} from the midst of the sons of Levi, after their families, according to the houses of their fathers' households;

 4:2 Takeººº the sumº of the sonsº of Kohathº from amongºº the sonsº of Levi,º after their families,º by the houseº of their fathers,º

 4:3 from twenty-five years old and upward until fifty years, every one that goes in to minister, to do all the works in the tabernacle of witness.

 4:3 From thirtyº yearsº oldºº and upwardº even untilº fiftyº yearsº old,º allº that enterºº into the host,º to doºº the workº in the tabernacleº of the congregation.º

 4:4 And these are the works of the sons of Kohath{gr.Caath} in the tabernacle of witness; it is most holy.

 4:4 Thisº [shall be] the serviceº of the sonsº of Kohathº in the tabernacleº of the congregation,º [about] the mostº holy things:º

 4:5 ¶ And Aaron and his sons shall go in, when the camp is about to move, and shall take down the shadowing veil, and shall cover with it the ark of the testimony.

 4:5 ¶ And when the campº setteth forward,ºº Aaronº shall come,ºº and his sons,º and they shall take downºº the coveringºº vail,º and coverººº the arkº of testimonyº with it:

 4:6 And they shall put on it a cover, even a blue skin, and put on it above a garment all of blue, and shall put the staves through [the rings].

 4:6 And shall putºº thereonº the coveringº of badgers'º skins,º and shall spreadºº overºº [it] a clothº whollyº of blue,º and shall putºº in the stavesº thereof.

 4:7 And they shall put on the table set forth for shew-bred a cloth all of purple, and the dishes, and the censers, and the cups, and the vessels with which one offers drink-offerings; and the continual loaves shall be upon it.

 4:7 And uponº the tableº of shewbreadº they shall spreadºº a clothº of blue,º and putºº thereonºº the dishes,º and the spoons,º and the bowls,º and coversº to coverº withal:º and the continualº breadº shall beº thereon:º

 4:8 And they shall put upon it a scarlet cloth, and they shall cover it with a blue covering of skin, and they shall put the staves into it.

 4:8 And they shall spreadºº uponº them a clothº of scarlet,ºº and coverºº the same with a coveringº of badgers'º skins,º and shall putºº inºº the stavesº thereof.

 4:9 And they shall take a blue covering, and cover the candlestick that gives light, and its lamps, and its snuffers, and its funnels, and all the vessels of oil with which they minister.

 4:9 And they shall takeºº a clothº of blue,º and coverººº the candlestickº of the light,º and his lamps,º and his tongs,º and his snuffdishes,º and allº the oilº vesselsº thereof, wherewithº they ministerºº unto it:

 4:10 And they shall put it, and all its vessels, into a blue skin cover; and they shall put it on bearers.

 4:10 And they shall putºº it and allº the vesselsº thereof withinº a coveringº of badgers'º skins,º and shall putºº [it] uponº a bar.º

 4:11 And they shall put a blue cloth for a cover on the golden altar, and shall cover it with a blue skin cover, and put in its staves.

 4:11 And uponº the goldenº altarº they shall spreadºº a clothº of blue,º and coverºº it with a coveringº of badgers'º skins,º and shall putºººº to the stavesº thereof:

 4:12 And they shall take all the instruments of service, with which they minister in the sanctuary: and shall place them in a cloth of blue, and shall cover them with blue skin covering, and put them upon staves.

 4:12 And they shall takeººº allº the instrumentsº of ministry,º wherewithº they ministerºº in the sanctuary,º and putºº [them] inº a clothº of blue,º and coverºº them with a coveringº of badgers'º skins,º and shall putºº [them] onº a bar:º

 4:13 And he shall put the covering on the altar, and they shall cover it with a cloth all of purple.

 4:13 And they shall take away the ashesººº from the altar,º and spreadºº a purpleº clothº thereon:º

 4:14 And they shall put upon it all the vessels with which they minister upon it, and the fire-pans, and the flesh-hooks, and the cups, and the cover, and all the vessels of the altar; and they shall put on it a blue cover of skins, and shall put in its staves; and they shall take a purple cloth, and cover the laver and its foot, and they shall put it into a blue cover of skin, and put it on bars.

 4:14 And they shall putºº uponº itº allº the vesselsº thereof, wherewithº they ministerºº aboutº it, [even]º the censers,ºº the fleshhooks,º and the shovels,º and the basons,º allº the vesselsº of the altar;º and they shall spreadºº uponº it a coveringº of badgers'º skins,º and putºº to the stavesº of it.

 4:15 And Aaron and his sons shall finish covering the holy things, and all the holy vessels, when the camp begins to move; and afterwards the sons of Kohath{gr.Caath} shall go in to take up [the furniture]; but shall not touch the holy things, lest they die: these shall the sons of Kohath{gr.Caath} bear in the tabernacle of witness.

 4:15 And when Aaronº and his sonsº have made an endºº of coveringººº the sanctuary,º and allº the vesselsº of the sanctuary,º as the campº is to set forward;ºº afterº that,º the sonsº of Kohathº shall comeºº to bearºº [it]: but they shall notº touchººº [any] holy thing,º lest they die.ºº Theseº [things are] the burdenº of the sonsº of Kohathº in the tabernacleº of the congregation.º

 4:16 ¶ Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest is overseer-- the oil of the light, and the incense of composition, and the daily meat-offering and the anointing oil, are his charge; even the oversight of the whole tabernacle, and all things that are in it in the holy place, in all the works.

 4:16 ¶ And to the officeº of Eleazarº the sonº of Aaronº the priestº [pertaineth] the oilº for the light,º and the sweetº incense,º and the dailyº meat offering,º and the anointingº oil,º [and] the oversightº of allº the tabernacle,º and of allº thatº therein [is], in the sanctuary,º and in the vesselsº thereof.

 4:17 ¶ And the Lord spoke to Mosheh{gr.Moses} and Aaron, saying,

 4:17 ¶ And Yahwehº spakeºº untoº Mosesº and untoº Aaron,º saying,ºº

 4:18 Ye shall not destroy the family of Kohath{gr.Caath} from the tribe out of the midst of the Levites.

 4:18 Cut ye not offºººº the tribeº of the familiesº of the Kohathitesº from amongºº the Levites:º

 4:19 This do ye to them, and they shall live and not die, when they approach the holy of holies: Let Aaron and his sons advance, and they shall place them each in his post for bearing.

 4:19 But thusº doºº unto them, that they may live,ºº and notº die,ºº when they approachººº unto the mostº holy things:º Aaronº and his sonsº shall go in,ºº and appointºº them everyº oneº toº his serviceº and toº his burden:º

 4:20 And [so] they shall by no means go in to look suddenly upon the holy things, and die.

 4:20 But they shall notº go inºº to seeºº whenº the holy thingsº are covered,ºº lest they die.ºº

 4:21 ¶ And the Lord spoke to Mosheh{gr.Moses}, saying,

 4:21 ¶ And Yahwehº spakeºº untoº Moses,º saying,ºº

 4:22 Take the sum of the children of Gershom{gr.Gedson}, and these according to the houses of their lineage, according to their families.

 4:22 Takeºº alsoºº the sumº of the sonsº of Gershon,º throughout the housesº of their fathers,º by their families;º

 4:23 Take the number of them from five and twenty years old and upwards until the age of fifty, every one that goes in to minister, to do his business in the tabernacle of witness.

 4:23 From thirtyº yearsº oldºº and upwardº untilº fiftyº yearsº oldº shalt thou numberºº them; allº that enter inºº to performºº the service,ºº to doºº the workº in the tabernacleº of the congregation.º

 4:24 This [is] the public service of the family of Gershom{gr.Gedson}, to minister and to bear.

 4:24 Thisº [is] the serviceº of the familiesº of the Gershonites,º to serve,ºº and for burdens:º

 4:25 And they shall bear the skins of the tabernacle, and the tabernacle of witness, and its veil, and the blue cover that was on it above, and the cover of the door of the tabernacle of witness.

 4:25 And they shall bearººº the curtainsº of the tabernacle,º and the tabernacleº of the congregation,º his covering,º and the coveringº of the badgers'º skinsº thatº [is] aboveºº uponº it, and the hangingº for the doorº of the tabernacleº of the congregation,º

 4:26 And all the curtains of the court which were upon the tabernacle of witness, and the appendages, and all the vessels of service that they minister with they shall attend to.

 4:26 And the hangingsº of the court,º and the hangingº for the doorº of the gateº of the court,º whichº [is] byº the tabernacleº and byº the altarº round about,º and their cords,º and allº the instrumentsº of their service,º and allº thatº is madeºº for them: so shall they serve.ºº

 4:27 According to the direction of Aaron and his sons shall be the ministry of the sons of Gershom{gr.Gedson}, in all their ministries, and in all their works; and thou shalt take account of them by name in all things borne by them.

 4:27 Atº the appointmentº of Aaronº and his sonsº shall beº allº the serviceº of the sonsº of the Gershonites,º in allº their burdens,º and in allº their service:º and ye shall appointºº untoº them in chargeºº allº their burdens.º

 4:28 This is the service of the sons of Gershom{gr.Gedson} in the tabernacle of witness, and their charge by the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.

 4:28 Thisº [is] the serviceº of the familiesº of the sonsº of Gershonº in the tabernacleº of the congregation:º and their chargeº [shall be] under the handº of Ithamarº the sonº of Aaronº the priest.º

 4:29 ¶ The sons of Merari according to their families, according to the houses of their lineage, take ye the number of them.

 4:29 ¶ As for the sonsº of Merari,º thou shalt numberºº them after their families,º by the houseº of their fathers;º

 4:30 Take the number of them from five and twenty years old and upwards until fifty years old, every one that goes in to perform the services of the tabernacle of witness.

 4:30 From thirtyº yearsº oldºº and upwardº even untoº fiftyº yearsº oldº shalt thou numberºº them, every oneº that enterethºº into the service,º to doººº the workº of the tabernacleº of the congregation.º

 4:31 And these are the charges of the things borne by them according to all their works in the tabernacle of witness: they shall bear the chapiters of the tabernacle, and the bars, and its pillars, and its sockets, and the veil, and [there shall be] their sockets, and their pillars, and the curtain of the door of the tabernacle.

 4:31 And thisº [is] the chargeº of their burden,º according to allº their serviceº in the tabernacleº of the congregation;º the boardsº of the tabernacle,º and the barsº thereof, and the pillarsº thereof, and socketsº thereof,

 4:32 And they shall bear the pillars of the court round about, and [there shall be] their sockets, and [they shall bear] the pillars of the veil of the door of the court, and their sockets and their pins, and their cords, and all their furniture, and all their instruments of service: take ye their number by name, and all the articles of the charge of the things borne by them.

 4:32 And the pillarsº of the courtº round about,º and their sockets,º and their pins,º and their cords,º with allº their instruments,º and with allº their service:º and by nameº ye shall reckonººº the instrumentsº of the chargeº of their burden.º

 4:33 This is the ministration of the family of the sons of Merari in all their works in the tabernacle of witness, by the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.

 4:33 Thisº [is] the serviceº of the familiesº of the sonsº of Merari,º according to allº their service,º in the tabernacleº of the congregation,º under the handº of Ithamarº the sonº of Aaronº the priest.º

 4:34 ¶ And Mosheh{gr.Moses} and Aaron and the rulers of Israel took the number of the sons of Kohath{gr.Caath} according to their families, according to the houses of their lineage;

 4:34 ¶ And Mosesº and Aaronº and the chiefº of the congregationº numberedººº the sonsº of the Kohathitesº after their families,º and after the houseº of their fathers,º

 4:35 from five and twenty years old and upwards to the age of fifty years, every one that goes in to minister and do service in the tabernacle of witness.

 4:35 From thirtyº yearsº oldºº and upwardº even untoº fiftyº yearsº old,º every oneº that enterethºº into the service,º for the workº in the tabernacleº of the congregation:º

 4:36 And the numbering of them according to their families was two thousand, seven hundred and fifty.

 4:36 And those that were numberedºº of them by their familiesº wereº two thousandº sevenº hundredº and fifty.º

 4:37 This is the numbering of the family of Kohath{gr.Caath}, every one that ministers in the tabernacle of witness, as Mosheh{gr.Moses} and Aaron numbered them by the word of the Lord, by the hand of Mosheh{gr.Moses}.

 4:37 Theseº [were] they that were numberedºº of the familiesº of the Kohathites,º allº that might do serviceºº in the tabernacleº of the congregation,º whichº Mosesº and Aaronº did numberºº according toº the commandmentº of Yahwehº by the handº of Moses.º

 4:38 And the sons of Gershom{gr.Gedson} were numbered according to their families, according to the houses of their lineage,

 4:38 And those that were numberedºº of the sonsº of Gershon,º throughout their families,º and by the houseº of their fathers,º

 4:39 from five and twenty years old and upward till fifty years old, every one that goes in to minister and to do the services in the tabernacle of witness.

 4:39 From thirtyº yearsº oldºº and upwardº even untoº fiftyº yearsº old,º every oneº that enterethºº into the service,º for the workº in the tabernacleº of the congregation,º

 4:40 And the numbering of them according to their families, according to the houses of their lineage, [was] two thousand six hundred and thirty.

 4:40 Even those that were numberedºº of them, throughout their families,º by the houseº of their fathers,º wereº two thousandº and sixº hundredº and thirty.º

 4:41 This [is] the numbering of the family of the sons of Gershom{gr.Gedson}, every one who ministers in the tabernacle of witness; whom Mosheh{gr.Moses} and Aaron numbered by the word of the Lord, by the hand of Mosheh{gr.Moses}.

 4:41 Theseº [are] they that were numberedºº of the familiesº of the sonsº of Gershon,º of allº that might do serviceºº in the tabernacleº of the congregation,º whomº Mosesº and Aaronº did numberºº according toº the commandmentº of Yahweh.º

 4:42 ¶ And also the family of the sons of Merari were numbered according to their divisions, according to the house of their fathers;

 4:42 ¶ And those that were numberedºº of the familiesº of the sonsº of Merari,º throughout their families,º by the houseº of their fathers,º

 4:43 from five and twenty years old and upward till fifty years old, every one that goes in to minister in the services of the tabernacle of witness.

 4:43 From thirtyº yearsº oldºº and upwardº even untoº fiftyº yearsº old,º every oneº that enterethºº into the service,º for the workº in the tabernacleº of the congregation,º

 4:44 And the numbering of them according to their families, according to the houses of their lineage, [was] three thousand and two hundred.

 4:44 Even those that were numberedºº of them after their families,º wereº threeº thousandº and two hundred.º

 4:45 This [is] the numbering of the family of the sons of Merari, whom Mosheh{gr.Moses} and Aaron numbered by the word of the Lord, by the hand of Mosheh{gr.Moses}.

 4:45 Theseº [be] those that were numberedºº of the familiesº of the sonsº of Merari,º whomº Mosesº and Aaronº numberedºº according toº the wordº of Yahwehº by the handº of Moses.º

 4:46 All that were numbered, whom Mosheh{gr.Moses} and Aaron and the rulers of Israel numbered, [namely], the Levites, according to their families and according to the houses of their lineage,

 4:46 Allº those that were numberedººº of the Levites,º whomº Mosesº and Aaronº and the chiefº of Israelº numbered,ºº after their families,º and after the houseº of their fathers,º

 4:47 from five and twenty years old and upward till fifty years old, every one that goes in to the service of the works, and the [charge of] the things that are carried in the tabernacle of witness.

 4:47 From thirtyº yearsº oldºº and upwardº even untoº fiftyº yearsº old,º every oneº that cameºº to doºº the serviceº of the ministry,º and the serviceº of the burdenº in the tabernacleº of the congregation,º

 4:48 And they that were numbered were eight thousand five hundred and eighty.

 4:48 Even those that were numberedºº of them, wereº eightº thousandº and fiveº hundredº and fourscore.º

 4:49 He reviewed them by the word of the Lord by the hand of Mosheh{gr.Moses}, appointing each man severally over their [respective] work, and over their burdens; and they were numbered, as the Lord commanded Mosheh{gr.Moses}.

 4:49 According toº the commandmentº of Yahwehº they were numberedºº by the handº of Moses,º everyº oneº according toº his service,º and according toº his burden:º thus were they numberedºº of him, asº Yahwehº commandedººº Moses.º
