Brenton's Septuagint (LXX) - Holy Name KJV
LXX < < Ezekiel{gr.Iezekiel} 9 > > KJV
1 A vision, whereby is shewed the preservation of some, 5 and the destruction of the rest. 8 God cannot be intreated for them.
 9:1 ¶
And he cried in mine ears with a loud voice, saying, The judgement of the city has drawn nigh; and each had the weapons of destruction in his hand. |
|
 9:1 ¶
He criedºº
also in mine earsº
with a loudº
voice,º
saying,ºº
Cause them that have chargeº
over the cityº
to draw near,ºº
even every manº
[with] his destroyingº
weaponº
in his hand.º |
 9:2
And, behold, six men came from the way of the high gate that looks toward the north, and each one's axe was in his hand; and there was one man in the midst of them clothed with a long robe down to the feet, and a sapphire girdle was on his loins: and they came in and stood near the brazen altar. |
 9:2
And, behold,º
sixº
menºº
cameºº
from the wayºº
of the higherº
gate,º
whichº
liethºº
toward the north,º
and every manº
a slaughterº
weaponº
in his hand;º
and oneº
manº
amongº
them [was] clothedºº
with linen,º
with a writer'sºº
inkhornº
by his side:º
and they went in,ºº
and stoodºº
besideº
the brasenº
altar.º |
 9:3
And the glory of the God of Israel, that was upon them, went up from the cherubs to the porch of the house. And he called the man that was clothed with the long robe, who had the girdle on his loins; |
 9:3
And the gloryº
of the Elohimº
of Israelº
was gone upºº
fromºº
the cherub,º
whereuponºº
he was,º
toº
the thresholdº
of the house.º
And he calledºº
toº
the manº
clothedºº
with linen,º
whichº
[had] the writer'sºº
inkhornº
by his side;º |
 9:4
And said to him, Go through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark on the foreheads of the men that groan and that grieve for all the iniquities that are done in the midst of them. |
 9:4
And Yahwehº
saidºº
untoº
him, Go throughºº
the midstº
of the city,º
through the midstº
of Jerusalem,º
and setºº
a markº
uponº
the foreheadsº
of the menºº
that sighºº
and that cryºº
forº
allº
the abominationsº
that be doneºº
in the midstº
thereof. |
 9:5 ¶
And he said to the first in my hearing, Go after him into the city, and smite: and let not your eyes spare, and have no mercy. |
 9:5 ¶
And to the othersº
he saidºº
in mine hearing,º
Goºº
ye afterº
him through the city,º
and smite:ºº
let notº
your eyeº
spare,ºº
neitherº
have ye pity:ºº |
 9:6
Slay utterly old man and youth, and virgin, and infants, and women: but go ye not nigh any on whom is the mark: begin at my sanctuary. So they began with the elder men who were within in the house. |
 9:6
Slayºº
utterlyº
oldº
[and] young,º
both maids,º
and little children,º
and women:º
but come not nearºººº
anyº
manº
uponº
whomº
[is] the mark;º
and beginºº
at my sanctuary.ºº
Then they beganºº
at the ancientº
menºº
whichº
[were] beforeº
the house.º |
 9:7
And he said to them, Defile the house, and go out and fill the ways with dead bodies, and smite. |
 9:7
And he saidºº
untoº
them, Defileººº
the house,º
and fillººº
the courtsº
with the slain:º
go ye forth.ºº
And they went forth,ºº
and slewºº
in the city.º |
 9:8 ¶
And it came to pass as they were smiting, that I fell upon my face, and cried out, and said, Alas, O Lord! wilt thou destroy the remnant of Israel, in pouring out thy wrath upon Jerusalem? |
 9:8 ¶
And it came to pass,º
while they were slayingºº
them, and Iº
was left,ºº
that I fellºº
uponº
my face,º
and cried,ºº
and said,ºº
Ahº
Adonaiº
Yahweh!º
wilt thouº
destroyººº
allº
the residueº
of Israelº
in thy pouring outººº
of thy furyº
uponº
Jerusalem?º |
 9:9
Then said he to me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah{gr.Juda} is become very exceedingly great: for the land is filled with many nations, and the city is filled with iniquity and uncleanness: because they have said, The Lord has forsaken the earth, The Lord looks not upon [it]. |
 9:9
Then saidºº
he untoº
me, The iniquityº
of the houseº
of Israelº
and Judahº
[is] exceedingº
great,º
and the landº
is fullºº
of blood,º
and the cityº
fullºº
of perverseness:º
forº
they say,ºº
Yahwehº
hath forsakenººº
the earth,º
and Yahwehº
seethºº
not.º |
 9:10
Therefore mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have any mercy: I have recompensed their ways upon their heads. |
 9:10
And as for meº
also,º
mine eyeº
shall notº
spare,ºº
neitherº
will I have pity,ºº
[but] I will recompenseºº
their wayº
upon their head.º |
 9:11
And, behold, the man clothed with the long robe, and girt with the girdle about his loins, answered and said, I have done as thou didst command me. |
 9:11
And, behold,º
the manº
clothedºº
with linen,º
whichº
[had] the inkhornº
by his side,º
reportedºº
the matter,º
saying,ºº
I have doneºº
asºº
thou hast commandedºº
me. |
