 3:1 ¶ Now Möšè מֹשֶׁהº keptººººº the flockº of Yi±rô יִתרוֹº his father in law,ºº the priestº of Miðyän מִדיָן:º and he ledººº the flockº to the backsideº of the desert,º and cameºº toº the mountainº of ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים,º [even] to Çörëv חֹרֵב.º

 3:1 ¶ Now Mosheh kept the flock of Yithro his father in law, the priest of Midyan: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of Elohim, [even] to Chorev.

 3:2 And the angelº of Yähwè יָהוֶהº appearedºº untoº him in a flameº of fireº out of the midstºº of a bush:º and he looked,ºº and, behold,º the bushº burnedºº with fire,º and the bushº [was] notº consumed.ºº

 3:2 And the angel of Yahweh appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush [was] not consumed.

 3:3 And Möšè מֹשֶׁהº said,ºº I will nowº turn aside,ºº and seeºº thisº greatºº sight,º whyº the bushº is notº burnt.ºº

 3:3 And Mosheh said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.

 3:4 And when Yähwè יָהוֶהº sawºº thatº he turned asideºº to see,ºº ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº calledºº untoº him out of the midstºº of the bush,º and said,ºº Möšè מֹשֶׁה,º Möšè מֹשֶׁה.º And he said,ºº Hereº [am] I.

 3:4 And when Yahweh saw that he turned aside to see, Elohim called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Mosheh, Mosheh. And he said, Here [am] I.

 3:5 And he said,ºº Draw not nighººº hither:º put offºº thy shoesº from offºº thy feet,º forº the placeº whereonºº thouº standestºº [is] holyº ground.º

 3:5 And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest [is] holy ground.

 3:6 Moreover he said,ºº Iº [am] the ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº of thy father,º the ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº of ´Avrähäm אַברָהָם,º the ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº of Yixçäk יִצחָק,º and the ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº of Ya`áköv יַעֲקֹב.º And Möšè מֹשֶׁהº hidºº his face;º forº he was afraidºº to lookººº uponº ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים.º

 3:6 Moreover he said, I [am] the Elohim of thy father, the Elohim of Avraham, the Elohim of Yitzchaq, and the Elohim of Yaaqov. And Mosheh hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon Elohim.

 3:7 ¶ And Yähwè יָהוֶהº said,ºº I have surelyºº seenººº the afflictionº of my peopleº whichº [are] in Mixrayim מִצרַיִם,º and have heardºº their cryº by reasonº ofºº their taskmasters;ºº forº I knowººº their sorrows;º

 3:7 ¶ And Yahweh said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which [are] in Mitzrayim, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;

 3:8 And I am come downºº to deliverºº them out of the handºº of the Mixrîm מִצרִים,º and to bringºº them upº out ofº thatº landº untoº a goodº landº and a large,º untoº a landº flowingºº with milkº and honey;º untoº the placeº of the Cæna`ánîm כְּנַעֲנִים,º and the Çittîm חִתִּים,º and the ´Émörîm אֱמֹרִים,º and the Pærizzîm פְּרִזִּים,º and the Çiwwîm חִוִּים,º and the Yævûsîm יְבוּסִים.º

 3:8 And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Mitzrim, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Kenaanim, and the Chittim, and the Emorim, and the Perizzim, and the Chiwwim, and the Yevusim.

 3:9 Nowº therefore, behold,º the cryº of the childrenº of Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵלº is comeºº untoº me: and I have alsoº seenººº the oppressionº wherewithº the Mixrîm מִצרִיםº oppressºº them.

 3:9 Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Yisrael is come unto me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Mitzrim oppress them.

 3:10 Comeººº nowº therefore, and I will sendºº thee untoº Par`ò פַּרעֹה,º that thou mayest bring forthººº my peopleº the childrenº of Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵלº out of Mixrayim מִצרַיִם.ºº

 3:10 Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Paroh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Yisrael out of Mitzrayim.

 3:11 ¶ And Möšè מֹשֶׁהº saidºº untoº ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים,º Whoº [am] I,º thatº I should goººº untoº Par`ò פַּרעֹה,º and thatº I should bring forthººº the childrenº of Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵלº out of Mixrayim מִצרַיִם?ºº

 3:11 ¶ And Mosheh said unto Elohim, Who [am] I, that I should go unto Paroh, and that I should bring forth the children of Yisrael out of Mitzrayim?

 3:12 And he said,ºº Certainlyº I will beº withº thee; and thisº [shall be] a tokenº unto thee, thatº Iº have sentºº thee: When thou hast brought forthººº the peopleº out of Mixrayim מִצרַיִם,ºº ye shall serveººº ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº uponº thisº mountain.º

 3:12 And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this [shall be] a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Mitzrayim, ye shall serve Elohim upon this mountain.

 3:13 And Möšè מֹשֶׁהº saidºº untoº ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים,º Behold,º [when] Iº comeºº untoº the childrenº of Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל,º and shall sayºº unto them, The ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº of your fathersº hath sentºº me untoº you; and they shall sayºº to me, Whatº [is] his name?º whatº shall I sayºº untoº them?

 3:13 And Mosheh said unto Elohim, Behold, [when] I come unto the children of Yisrael, and shall say unto them, The Elohim of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What [is] his name? what shall I say unto them?

 3:14 And ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº saidºº untoº Möšè מֹשֶׁה,º I AMºº THATº I AM:ºº and he said,ºº Thusº shalt thou sayºº unto the childrenº of Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל,º I AMº hath sentºº me untoº you.

 3:14 And Elohim said unto Mosheh, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Yisrael, I AM hath sent me unto you.

 3:15 And ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº saidºº moreoverº untoº Möšè מֹשֶׁה,º Thusº shalt thou sayºº untoº the childrenº of Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל,º Yähwè יָהוֶהº ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº of your fathers,º the ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº of ´Avrähäm אַברָהָם,º the ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº of Yixçäk יִצחָק,º and the ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº of Ya`áköv יַעֲקֹב,º hath sentºº me untoº you: thisº [is] my nameº for ever,º and thisº [is] my memorialº unto allº generations.º

 3:15 And Elohim said moreover unto Mosheh, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Yisrael, Yahweh Elohim of your fathers, the Elohim of Avraham, the Elohim of Yitzchaq, and the Elohim of Yaaqov, hath sent me unto you: this [is] my name for ever, and this [is] my memorial unto all generations.

 3:16 Go,ººº and gatherººº the eldersº of Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵלº together,ºº and sayºº untoº them, Yähwè יָהוֶהº ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº of your fathers,º the ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº of ´Avrähäm אַברָהָם,º of Yixçäk יִצחָק,º and of Ya`áköv יַעֲקֹב,º appearedºº untoº me, saying,ºº I have surelyºº visitedºº you, and [seen] that which is doneºº to you in Mixrayim מִצרַיִם:º

 3:16 Go, and gather the elders of Yisrael together, and say unto them, Yahweh Elohim of your fathers, the Elohim of Avraham, of Yitzchaq, and of Yaaqov, appeared unto me, saying, I have surely visited you, and [seen] that which is done to you in Mitzrayim:

 3:17 And I have said,ºº I will bringºº you upºº out of the afflictionºº of Mixrayim מִצרַיִםº untoº the landº of the Cæna`ánîm כְּנַעֲנִים,º and the Çittîm חִתִּים,º and the ´Émörîm אֱמֹרִים,º and the Pærizzîm פְּרִזִּים,º and the Çiwwîm חִוִּים,º and the Yævûsîm יְבוּסִים,º untoº a landº flowingºº with milkº and honey.º

 3:17 And I have said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Mitzrayim unto the land of the Kenaanim, and the Chittim, and the Emorim, and the Perizzim, and the Chiwwim, and the Yevusim, unto a land flowing with milk and honey.

 3:18 And they shall hearkenºº to thy voice:º and thou shalt come,ºº thouº and the eldersº of Yi$rä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל,º untoº the kingº of Mixrayim מִצרַיִם,º and ye shall sayºº untoº him, Yähwè יָהוֶהº ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº of the `Ivrîm עִברִיםº hath metºº withº us: and nowº let us go,ººº we beseech thee,º threeº days'º journeyº into the wilderness,º that we may sacrificeºº to Yähwè יָהוֶהº our ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים.º

 3:18 And they shall hearken to thy voice: and thou shalt come, thou and the elders of Yisrael, unto the king of Mitzrayim, and ye shall say unto him, Yahweh Elohim of the Ivrim hath met with us: and now let us go, we beseech thee, three days' journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to Yahweh our Elohim.

 3:19 ¶ And Iº am sureºº thatº the kingº of Mixrayim מִצרַיִםº will notº letºº you go,ºº no,º not by a mightyº hand.º

 3:19 ¶ And I am sure that the king of Mitzrayim will not let you go, no, not by a mighty hand.

 3:20 And I will stretch outººº my hand,º and smiteººº Mixrayim מִצרַיִםº with allº my wondersºº whichº I will doºº in the midstº thereof: and afterº thatº he will let you go.ºº

 3:20 And I will stretch out my hand, and smite Mitzrayim with all my wonders which I will do in the midst thereof: and after that he will let you go.

 3:21 And I will giveºº thisº peopleºº favourº in the sightº of the Mixrîm מִצרִים:º and it shall come to pass,º that, whenº ye go,ººº ye shall notº goººº empty:º

 3:21 And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Mitzrim: and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty:

 3:22 But every womanº shall borrowºº of her neighbour,ºº and of her that sojournethººº in her house,º jewelsº of silver,º and jewelsº of gold,º and raiment:º and ye shall putºº [them] uponº your sons,º and uponº your daughters;º and ye shall spoilººº the Mixrîm מִצרִים.º

 3:22 But every woman shall borrow of her neighbour, and of her that sojourneth in her house, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: and ye shall put [them] upon your sons, and upon your daughters; and ye shall spoil the Mitzrim.
