Job 10

1 Job, taking liberty of complaint, expostulateth with God about his afflictions. 18 He complaineth of life, and craveth a little ease before death.

 10:1 “I loathe 6962a my own life 2425b; I will give 5800a full 5800a 5921 vent 5800a to my complaint 7879; I will speak 1696 in the bitterness 4751 of my soul 5315.

 10:2 “I will say 559 to God 433, ‘Do not condemn 7561 me; Let me know 3045 why 5921 4100 You contend 7378 with me.

 10:3 ‘Is it right 2896a for You indeed 3588 to oppress 6231, To reject 3988a the labor 3018 of Your hands 3709, And to look 3313 favorably 3313 on the schemes 6098 of the wicked 7563?

 10:4 ‘Have You eyes 5869 of flesh 1320? Or 518 do You see 7200 as a man 582 sees 7200?

 10:5 ‘Are Your days 3117 as the days 3117 of a mortal 582, Or 518 Your years 8141 as man’s 1397 years 3117,

 10:6 That You should seek 1245 for my guilt 5771 And search 1875 after my sin 2403b?

 10:7 ‘According 5921 to Your knowledge 1847 I am indeed 3588 not guilty 7561, Yet there 369 is no 369 deliverance 5337 from Your hand 3027.

 10:8 ¶ ‘Your hands 3027 fashioned 6087b and made 6213a me altogether 3162 5439, And would You destroy 1104 me?

 10:9 ‘Remember 2142 now 4994, that You have made 6213a me as clay 2563a; And would You turn 7725 me into dust 6083 again 7725?

 10:10 ‘Did You not pour 5413 me out like milk 2461 And curdle 7087a me like cheese 1385;

 10:11 Clothe 3847 me with skin 5785 and flesh 1320, And knit 5526b me together 5526b with bones 6106 and sinews 1517?

 10:12 ‘You have granted 6213a me life 2425b and lovingkindness 2617a; And Your care 6486 has preserved 8104 my spirit 7307.

 10:13 ‘Yet these 428 things 428 You have concealed 6845 in Your heart 3824; I know 3045 that this 384 is within 5973 You:

 10:14 If 518 I sin 2398, then You would take 8104 note 8104 of me, And would not acquit 5352 me of my guilt 5771.

 10:15 ‘If 518 I am wicked 7561, woe 480 to me! And if I am righteous 6663, I dare not lift 5375 up my head 7218. [I am] sated 7649 with disgrace 7036 and conscious 7202 of my misery 6040a.

 10:16 ‘Should [my head] be lifted 1342 up, You would hunt 6679 me like a lion 7826; And again 7725 You would show 6381 Your power 6381 against me.

 10:17 ‘You renew 2318 Your witnesses 5707 against 5048 me And increase 7235a Your anger 3708b toward 5973 me; Hardship 2487 after hardship 6635 is with me.

 10:18 ¶ ‘Why 4100 then have You brought 3318 me out of the womb 7358? Would that I had died 1478 and no 3808 eye 5869 had seen 7200 me!

 10:19 ‘I should have been 1961 as though 3512c I had not been 1961, Carried 2986 from womb 990 to tomb 6913.’

 10:20 “Would He not let 2308 my few 4592 days 3117 alone 2308? Withdraw 7896 from me that I may have 1082 a little 4592 cheer 1082

 10:21 Before 2962 I go 1980—and I shall not return 7725— To the land 776 of darkness 2822 and deep 6757 shadow 6757,

 10:22 The land 776 of utter 5890 gloom 5890 as darkness 652 [itself], Of deep 6757 shadow 6757 without 3808 order 5468, And which shines 3313 as the darkness 652.”
