Job 6

1 Job sheweth that his complaints are not causeless. 8 He wisheth for death, wherein he is assured of comfort. 14 He reproveth his friends for their unkindness.

 6:1 Then Job 347 answered 6030a,

 6:2 “Oh 3863 that my grief 3708b were actually 8254 weighed 8254 And laid 5375 in the balances 3976 together 3162 with my calamity 1942!

 6:3 “For then 6258 it would be heavier 3513 than 4480 the sand 2344 of the seas 3220; Therefore 5921 3651 my words 1697 have been 3886b rash 3886b.

 6:4 “For the arrows 2671 of the Almighty 7706b are within 5973 me, Their poison 2534 my spirit 7307 drinks 8354; The terrors 1161 of God 433 are arrayed 6186a against me.

 6:5 “Does the wild 6501 donkey 6501 bray 5101 over 5921 [his] grass 1877, Or 518 does the ox 7794 low 1600 over 5921 his fodder 1098?

 6:6 “Can something 8602a tasteless 8602a be eaten 398 without 1097 salt 4417, Or 518 is there 3426 any 3426 taste 2940 in the white 2495 of an egg 2495?

 6:7 “My soul 5315 refuses 3985 to touch 5060 [them]; They are like loathsome 1741 food 3899 to me.

 6:8 ¶ “Oh 4310 5414 that my request 7596 might come 935 to pass 935, And that God 433 would grant 5414 my longing 8615b!

 6:9 “Would that God 433 were willing 2974 to crush 1792 me, That He would loose 5425b His hand 3027 and cut 1214 me off 1214!

 6:10 “But it is still 5750 my consolation 5165, And I rejoice 5539 in unsparing 3808 2550 pain 2430b, That I have not denied 3582 the words 561 of the Holy 6918 One 6918.

 6:11 “What 4100 is my strength 3581b, that I should wait 3176? And what 4100 is my end 7093, that I should endure 748 5315?

 6:12 “Is my strength 3581b the strength 3581b of stones 68, Or 518 is my flesh 1320 bronze 5153?

 6:13 “Is it that my help 5833 is not within me, And that deliverance 8454 is driven 5080 from me?

 6:14 ¶ “For the despairing 4523 man 4523 [there should be] kindness 2617a from his friend 7453; So that he does not forsake 5800a the fear 3374 of the Almighty 7706b.

 6:15 “My brothers 251 have acted 898 deceitfully 898 like 3644 a wadi 5158a, Like the torrents 650 of wadis 5158a which vanish 5674a,

 6:16 Which are turbid 6937 because 4480 of ice 7140 [And] into which the snow 7950 melts 5956.

 6:17 “When 6256 they become 2215 waterless 2215, they are silent 6789, When it is hot 2552, they vanish 1846 from their place 4725.

 6:18 “The paths 734 of their course 1870 wind 3943 along 3943, They go 5927 up into nothing 8414 and perish 6.

 6:19 “The caravans 734 of Tema 8485 looked 5027, The travelers 1979 of Sheba 7614 hoped 6960a for them.

 6:20 “They were disappointed 954 for they had trusted 982, They came 935 there 5704 and were confounded 2659.

 6:21 “Indeed 3588, you have now 6258 become 1961 such 3808, You see 7200 a terror 2866 and are afraid 3372a.

 6:22 “Have I said 559, ‘Give 3051 me [something],’ Or, ‘Offer 7809 a bribe 7809 for me from your wealth 3581b,’

 6:23 Or, ‘Deliver 4422 me from the hand 3027 of the adversary 6862c,’ Or, ‘Redeem 6299 me from the hand 3027 of the tyrants 6184’?

 6:24 ¶ “Teach 3384 me, and I will be silent 2790b; And show 995 me how 4100 I have erred 7686.

 6:25 “How 4100 painful 4834 are honest 3476 words 561! But what 4100 does your argument 3198 prove 3198?

 6:26 “Do you intend 2803 to reprove 3198 [my] words 561, When the words 561 of one in despair 2976 belong to the wind 7307?

 6:27 “You would even 637 cast 5307 [lots] for the orphans 3490 And barter 3739 over 5921 your friend 7453.

 6:28 “Now 6258 please 2974 look 6437 at me, And [see] if 518 I lie 3576 to your face 6440.

 6:29 “Desist 7725 now 4994, let there be no 408 injustice 5767b; Even desist 7725, my righteousness 6664 is yet 5750 in it.

 6:30 “Is there 3426 injustice 5767b on my tongue 3956? Cannot 3808 my palate 2441 discern 995 calamities 1942?
