Job 12

1 Job maintaineth himself against his friends that reprove him. 7 He acknowledgeth the general doctrine of God's omnipotency.

 12:1 Then Job 347 responded 6030a 559,

 12:2 “Truly 551 then 3588 you are the people 5971a, And with you wisdom 2451 will die 4191!

 12:3 “But I have intelligence 3824 as well 1571 as you; I am not inferior 5307 to you. And who 4310 does not know 854 such 3644 things as these 428?

 12:4 “I am 1961 a joke 7814 to my friends 7453, The one who called 7121 on God 433 and He answered 6030a him; The just 6662 [and] blameless 8549 [man] is a joke 7814.

 12:5 “He who is at ease 7600 holds 6248 calamity 6365 in contempt 937, As prepared 3559 for those whose feet 7272 slip 4571.

 12:6 “The tents 168 of the destroyers 7703 prosper 7951, And those who provoke 7264 God 410 are secure 987, Whom 834 God 433 brings 935 into their power 3027.

 12:7 ¶ “But now 4994 ask 7592 the beasts 929, and let them teach 3384 you; And the birds 5775 of the heavens 8064, and let them tell 5046 you.

 12:8 “Or 176 speak 7878 to the earth 776, and let it teach 3384 you; And let the fish 1709 of the sea 3220 declare 5608 to you.

 12:9 “Who 4310 among all 3605 these 428 does not know 3045 That the hand 3027 of the LORD 3068 has done 6213a this 384,

 12:10 In whose 834 hand 3027 is the life 5315 of every 3605 living 2416a thing 2416a, And the breath 7307 of all 3605 mankind 376 1320?

 12:11 “Does not the ear 241 test 974 words 4405, As the palate 2441 tastes 2938 its food 400?

 12:12 “Wisdom 2451 is with aged 3453 men 3453, [With] long 753 life 3117 is understanding 8394.

 12:13 ¶ “With Him are wisdom 2451 and might 1369; To Him belong counsel 6098 and understanding 8394.

 12:14 “Behold 2005, He tears 2040 down 2040, and it cannot 3808 be rebuilt 1129; He imprisons 5462 a man 376, and there can be no 3808 release 6605a.

 12:15 “Behold 2005, He restrains 6113 the waters 4325, and they dry 3001 up; And He sends 7971 them out, and they inundate 2015 the earth 776.

 12:16 “With Him are strength 5797 and sound 8454 wisdom 8454, The misled 7683 and the misleader 7686 belong to Him.

 12:17 “He makes counselors 3289 walk 1980 barefoot 7758 And makes 1984b fools 1984b of judges 8199.

 12:18 “He loosens 6605a the bond 4147 of kings 4428 And binds 631 their loins 4975 with a girdle 232.

 12:19 “He makes priests 3548 walk 1980 barefoot 7758 And overthrows 5557 the secure 386 ones 386.

 12:20 “He deprives 5493 the trusted 539 ones of speech 8193 And takes 3947 away the discernment 2940 of the elders 2205.

 12:21 “He pours 8210 contempt 937 on nobles 5081 And loosens 7503 the belt 4206b of the strong 650.

 12:22 “He reveals 1540 mysteries 6013 from the darkness 2822 And brings 3318 the deep 6757 darkness 6757 into light 216.

 12:23 “He makes 7679 the nations 1471 great 7679, then destroys 6 them; He enlarges 7849 the nations 1471, then leads 5148 them away.

 12:24 “He deprives 5493 of intelligence 3820 the chiefs 7218 of the earth’s 776 people 5971a And makes them wander 8582 in a pathless 3808 1870 waste 8414.

 12:25 “They grope 4959 in darkness 2822 with no 3808 light 216, And He makes them stagger 8582 like a drunken 7910 man 7910.
