Job 23

1 Job longeth to appear before God, 6 in confidence of his mercy. 8 God, who is invisible, observeth our ways. 11 Job's innocency. 13 God's decree is immutable.

 23:1 Then Job 347 replied 6030a 559,

 23:2 “Even 1571 today 3117 my complaint 7879 is rebellion 4805; His hand 3027 is heavy 3513 despite 5921 my groaning 585.

 23:3 “Oh 4310 5414 that I knew 3045 where I might find 4672 Him, That I might come 935 to His seat 8499!

 23:4 “I would present 6186a [my] case 4941 before 6440 Him And fill 4390 my mouth 6310 with arguments 8433b.

 23:5 “I would learn 3045 the words 4405 [which] He would answer 6030a, And perceive 995 what 4100 He would say 559 to me.

 23:6 “Would He contend 7378 with me by the greatness 7230 of [His] power 3581b? No 3808, surely 389 He would pay 7760 attention 7760 to me.

 23:7 “There 8033 the upright 3477 would reason 3198 with Him; And I would be delivered 6403 forever 5331 from my Judge 8199.

 23:8 ¶ “Behold 2005, I go 1980 forward 6924a but He is not [there], And backward 268, but I cannot 3808 perceive 995 Him;

 23:9 When He acts 6213a on the left 8040, I cannot 3808 behold 2372 [Him]; He turns 5848a on the right 3225, I cannot 3808 see 7200 Him.

 23:10 “But He knows 3045 the way 1870 I take 5973; [When] He has tried 974 me, I shall come 3318 forth 3318 as gold 2091.

 23:11 “My foot 7272 has held 270 fast 270 to His path 804a; I have kept 8104 His way 1870 and not turned 5186 aside 5186.

 23:12 “I have not departed 4185 from the command 4687 of His lips 8193; I have treasured 6845 the words 561 of His mouth 6310 more 4480 than 4480 my necessary 2706 food 2706.

 23:13 “But He is unique 259 and who 4310 can turn 7725 Him? And [what] His soul 5315 desires 183, that He does 6213a.

 23:14 “For He performs 7999a what 2706 is appointed 2706 for me, And many 7227a such 1992a [decrees] are with Him.

 23:15 “Therefore 5921 3651, I would be dismayed 926 at His presence 6440; [When] I consider 995, I am terrified 6342 of Him.

 23:16 “[It is] God 410 [who] has made my heart 3820 faint 7401, And the Almighty 7706b [who] has dismayed 926 me,

 23:17 But I am not silenced 6789 by the darkness 2822, Nor 3808 deep gloom 652 [which] covers 3680 me.
