Job 19

1 Job, complaining of his friends' cruelty, sheweth there is misery enough in him to feed their cruelty. 21, 28 He craveth pity. 25 He believeth the resurrection.

 19:1 Then Job 347 responded 6030a 559,

 19:2 “How 575 long 5704 will you torment 3013 me And crush 1792 me with words 4405?

 19:3 “These 2088 ten 6235 times 6471 you have insulted 3637 me; You are not ashamed 954 to wrong 1970 me.

 19:4 “Even 637 if I have truly 551 erred 7686, My error 4879 lodges 3885a with me.

 19:5 “If 518 indeed 551 you vaunt 1431 yourselves against 5921 me And prove 3198 my disgrace 2781 to me,

 19:6 Know 3045 then 645 that God 433 has wronged 5791 me And has closed 5362b His net 4685b around 5362b me.

 19:7 ¶ “Behold 2005, I cry 6817, ‘Violence 2555!’ but I get 6030a no 3808 answer 6030a; I shout 7768 for help 7768, but there 369 is no 369 justice 4941.

 19:8 “He has walled 1443 up my way 734 so that I cannot 3808 pass 5674a, And He has put 7760 darkness 2822 on my paths 5410b.

 19:9 “He has stripped 6584 my honor 3519b from me And removed 5493 the crown 5850 from my head 7218.

 19:10 “He breaks 5422 me down 5422 on every 5439 side 5439, and I am gone 1980; And He has uprooted 5265 my hope 8615b like a tree 6086.

 19:11 “He has also kindled 2734 His anger 639 against 5921 me And considered 2803 me as His enemy 6862c.

 19:12 “His troops 1416 come 935 together 3162, And build 5549 up their way 1870 against 5921 me And camp 2583 around 5439 my tent 168.

 19:13 ¶ “He has removed 7368 my brothers 251 far 7368 from me, And my acquaintances 3045 are completely 389 estranged 2114a from me.

 19:14 “My relatives 7138 have failed 2308, And my intimate 3045 friends 3045 have forgotten 7911 me.

 19:15 “Those who live 1481a in my house 1004 and my maids 519 consider 2803 me a stranger 2114a. I am 1961 a foreigner 5237 in their sight 5869.

 19:16 “I call 7121 to my servant 5650, but he does not answer 6030a; I have to implore 2603a him with my mouth 6310.

 19:17 “My breath 7307 is offensive 2114b to my wife 802, And I am loathsome 2603b to my own brothers 1121 990.

 19:18 “Even 1571 young 5759 children 5759 despise 3988a me; I rise 6965 up and they speak 1696 against me.

 19:19 “All 3605 my associates 4962 abhor 8581 me, And those 2088 I love 157 have turned 2015 against me.

 19:20 “My bone 6106 clings 1692 to my skin 5785 and my flesh 1320, And I have escaped 4422 [only] by the skin 5785 of my teeth 8127.

 19:21 “Pity 2603a me, pity 2603a me, O you my friends 7453, For the hand 3027 of God 433 has struck 5221 me.

 19:22 “Why 4100 do you persecute 7291 me as God 410 [does], And are not satisfied 7646 with my flesh 1320?

 19:23 ¶ “Oh 4310 5414 that my words 4405 were written 3789! Oh 4310 5414 that they were inscribed 2710 in a book 5612!

 19:24 “That with an iron 1270 stylus 5842 and lead 5777 They were engraved 2672 in the rock 6697 forever 5703!

 19:25 “As for me, I know 3045 that my Redeemer 1350 lives 2416a, And at the last 314 He will take 6965 His stand 6965 on the earth 6083.

 19:26 “Even after 310 my skin 5785 is destroyed 5362a, Yet from my flesh 1320 I shall see 2372 God 433;

 19:27 Whom 834 I myself 589 shall behold 2372, And whom my eyes 5869 will see 7200 and not another 2114a. My heart 3629 faints 3615 within 2436 me!

 19:28 “If 3588 you say 559, ‘How 4100 shall we persecute 7291 him?’ And ‘What pretext 8328 for a case 1697 against him can we find 4672?’

 19:29 “[Then] be afraid 1481c of the sword 2719 for yourselves, For wrath 2534 [brings] the punishment 5771 of the sword 2719, So 4616 that you may know 3045 there is judgment 1779.”
