 27:1 ¶ In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, came this word unto Jeremiah from Jehovah, saying,

 27:1 ¶ In the beginningº of the reignº of Jehoiakimº the sonº of Josiahº kingº of Judahº cameº thisº wordº untoº Jeremiahº fromºº the LORD,º saying,ºº

 27:2 Thus saith Jehovah to me: Make thee bonds and bars, and put them upon thy neck;

 27:2 Thusº saithºº the LORDº toº me; Makeºº thee bondsº and yokes,º and putºº them uponº thy neck,º

 27:3 and send them to the king of Edom, and to the king of Moab, and to the king of the children of Ammon, and to the king of Tyre, and to the king of Sidon, by the hand of the messengers that come to Jerusalem unto Zedekiah king of Judah;

 27:3 And sendºº them toº the kingº of Edom,º and toº the kingº of Moab,º and toº the kingº of the Ammonites,ºº and toº the kingº of Tyrus,º and to the kingº of Zidon,º by the handº of the messengersº which comeºº to Jerusalemº untoº Zedekiahº kingº of Judah;º

 27:4 and give them a charge unto their masters, saying, Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, Thus shall ye say unto your masters:

 27:4 And commandºº them to sayºº untoº their masters,º Thusº saithºº the LORDº of hosts,º the Godº of Israel;º Thusº shall ye sayºº untoº your masters;º

 27:5 I have made the earth, the men and the beasts that are upon the face of the earth, by my great power and by my outstretched arm; and I give it unto whom it seemeth right unto me.

 27:5 Iº have madeººº the earth,ºº the manº and the beastº thatº [are] uponºº the ground,º by my greatº powerº and by my outstretchedºº arm,º and have givenºº it unto whomº it seemedº meetºº unto me.

 27:6 And now have I given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant; and the beasts of the field also have I given him to serve him.

 27:6 And nowº have Iº givenººº allº theseº landsº into the handº of Nebuchadnezzarº the kingº of Babylon,º my servant;º andº the beastsº of the fieldº have I givenºº him alsoº to serveºº him.

 27:7 And all the nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son's son, until the time of his own land come: and then many nations and great kings shall make him their bondman.

 27:7 And allº nationsº shall serveºº him, and his son,º and his son'sº son,º untilº the very timeº of his landº come:ºº and thenº manyº nationsº and greatº kingsº shall serveºº themselves of him.º

 27:8 And it shall come to pass, that the nation and the kingdom which will not serve the same Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and that will not put their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation will I punish, saith Jehovah, with the sword, and with the famine, and with the pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand.

 27:8 And it shall come to pass,º [that] the nationº and kingdomº whichº will notº serveºº the sameº Nebuchadnezzarº the kingº of Babylon,º and thatº will notº putººº their neckº under the yokeº of the kingº of Babylon,º thatº nationº will I punish,ºº saithºº the LORD,º with the sword,º and with the famine,º and with the pestilence,º untilº I have consumedºº them by his hand.º

 27:9 But as for you, hearken ye not to your prophets, nor to your diviners, nor to your dreams, nor to your soothsayers, nor to your sorcerers, that speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon:

 27:9 Therefore hearkenºº notº yeº toº your prophets,º nor toº your diviners,ºº nor toº your dreamers,º nor toº your enchanters,ºº nor toº your sorcerers,º whichºº speakºº untoº you, saying,ºº Ye shall notº serveººº the kingº of Babylon:º

 27:10 for they prophesy a lie unto you, to remove you far from your land, and that I should drive you out, and ye should perish.

 27:10 Forº theyº prophesyºº a lieº unto you, toº remove you farººº fromºº your land;º and that I should drive you out,ººº and ye should perish.ºº

 27:11 But the nation that shall bring their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him, that [nation] will I let remain in their own land, saith Jehovah; and they shall till it, and dwell therein.

 27:11 But the nationsº thatº bringººº their neckº under the yokeº of the kingº of Babylon,º and serveºº him, those will I let remainº stillºº inº their own land,º saithºº the LORD;º and they shall tillºº it, and dwellºº therein.

 27:12 ¶ And I spake to Zedekiah king of Judah according to all these words, saying, Bring your necks under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him and his people, and live.

 27:12 ¶ I spakeºº also toº Zedekiahº kingº of Judahº according to allº theseº words,º saying,ºº Bringººº your necksº under the yokeº of the kingº of Babylon,º and serveºº him and his people,º and live.ºº

 27:13 Why will ye die, thou and thy people, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, as Jehovah hath spoken concerning the nation that will not serve the king of Babylon?

 27:13 Whyº will ye die,ºº thouº and thy people,º by the sword,º by the famine,º and by the pestilence,º asº the LORDº hath spokenºº againstº the nationº thatº will notº serveººº the kingº of Babylon?º

 27:14 And hearken not unto the words of the prophets that speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon; for they prophesy a lie unto you.

 27:14 Therefore hearkenºº notº untoº the wordsº of the prophetsº that speakºº untoº you, saying,ºº Ye shall notº serveººº the kingº of Babylon:º forº theyº prophesyºº a lieº unto you.

 27:15 For I have not sent them, saith Jehovah, but they prophesy falsely in my name; that I may drive you out, and that ye may perish, ye, and the prophets that prophesy unto you.

 27:15 Forº I have notº sentºº them, saithºº the LORD,º yet theyº prophesyºº a lieº in my name;º thatº I might drive you out,ººº and that ye might perish,ºº ye,º and the prophetsº that prophesyºº unto you.

 27:16 Also I spake to the priests and to all this people, saying, Thus saith Jehovah: Hearken not to the words of your prophets that prophesy unto you, saying, Behold, the vessels of Jehovah's house shall now shortly be brought again from Babylon; for they prophesy a lie unto you.

 27:16 Also I spakeºº toº the priestsº and toº allº thisº people,º saying,ºº Thusº saithºº the LORD;º Hearkenºº notº toº the wordsº of your prophetsº that prophesyºº unto you, saying,ºº Behold,º the vesselsº of the LORD'Sº houseº shall nowº shortlyº be brought againºº from Babylon:ºº forº theyº prophesyºº a lieº unto you.

 27:17 Hearken not unto them; serve the king of Babylon, and live: wherefore should this city become a desolation?

 27:17 Hearkenºº notº untoº them; serveººº the kingº of Babylon,º and live:ºº whereforeº should thisº cityº beº laid waste?º

 27:18 But if they be prophets, and if the word of Jehovah be with them, let them now make intercession to Jehovah of hosts, that the vessels which are left in the house of Jehovah, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem, go not to Babylon.

 27:18 But ifº theyº [be] prophets,º and ifº the wordº of the LORDº beº withº them, let them nowº make intercessionºº to the LORDº of hosts,º that the vesselsº which are leftºº in the houseº of the LORD,º and [in] the houseº of the kingº of Judah,º and at Jerusalem,º goºº notº to Babylon.º

 27:19 ¶ For thus saith Jehovah of hosts concerning the pillars, and concerning the sea, and concerning the bases, and concerning the residue of the vessels that are left in this city,

 27:19 ¶ Forº thusº saithºº the LORDº of hostsº concerningº the pillars,º and concerningº the sea,º and concerningº the bases,º and concerningº the residueº of the vesselsº that remainºº in thisº city,º

 27:20 which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took not, when he carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, from Jerusalem to Babylon, and all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem;

 27:20 Whichº Nebuchadnezzarº kingº of Babylonº tookºº not,º when he carried away captiveººº Jeconiahº the sonº of Jehoiakimº kingº of Judahº from Jerusalemºº to Babylon,º and allº the noblesº of Judahº and Jerusalem;º

 27:21 yea, thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, concerning the vessels that are left in the house of Jehovah, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem:

 27:21 Yea,º thusº saithºº the LORDº of hosts,º the Godº of Israel,º concerningº the vesselsº that remainºº [in] the houseº of the LORD,º and [in] the houseº of the kingº of Judahº and of Jerusalem;º

 27:22 They shall be carried to Babylon, and there shall they be, until the day that I visit them, saith Jehovah; then will I bring them up, and restore them to this place.

 27:22 They shall be carriedºº to Babylon,º and thereº shall they beº untilº the dayº that I visitºº them, saithºº the LORD;º then will I bringºº them up,º and restoreºº them toº thisº place.º
