And all the congregation of the children of Israel departed from the wilderness of Sin, according to their encampments, by the word of the Lord; and they encamped in Raphidin: and there was no water for the people to drink. |

And the people reviled Mosheh{gr.Moses}, saying, Give us water, that we may drink; and Mosheh{gr.Moses} said to them, Why do ye revile me, and why tempt ye the Lord? |

Wherefore the peopleº
did chideºº
withº
Moses,º
and said,ºº
Giveºº
us waterº
that we may drink.ºº
And Mosesº
saidºº
unto them, Whyº
chideºº
ye withº
me? whereforeº
do ye temptººº
Yahweh?º |

And the people thirsted there for water, and there the people murmured against Mosheh{gr.Moses}, saying, Why is this? hast thou brought us up out of Mizraim{gr.Egypt} to slay us and our children and our cattle with thirst? |

Moses,º

Whereforeº
[is] thisº
[that] thou hast broughtºº

out of Egypt,ºº

And Mosheh{gr.Moses} cried to the Lord, saying, What shall I do to this people? yet a little while and they will stone me. |

Yahweh,º
saying,ºº
Whatº
shall I doºº
unto thisº
people?º
they be almostº
readyº
to stoneºº
me. |

And the Lord said to Mosheh{gr.Moses}, Go before this people, and take to thyself of the elders of the people; and the rod with which thou smotest the river, take in thine hand, and thou shalt go. |

the people,º

thee of the eldersºº
of Israel;º
and thy rod,º
wherewithº

Behold, I stand there before thou [come], on the rock in Horeb{gr.Choreb}, and thou shalt smite the rock, and water shall come out from it, and the people shall drink. And Mosheh{gr.Moses} did so before the sons of Israel. |

And Mosesº

And he called the name of that place, Temptation, and Reviling, because of the reviling of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the Lord, saying, Is the Lord among us or not? |

of the placeº
Massah,º
and Meribah,º
because ofº
the chidingº
of the childrenº
of Israel,º
and becauseº
they temptedººº
Yahweh,º
saying,ºº
Isº
Yahwehº
amongº
us, orº

And Amalek{gr.Amalec} came and fought with Israel in Raphidin. |

Amalek,º
and foughtºº
withº
Israelº
in Rephidim.º |

17:9
And Mosheh{gr.Moses} said to Joshua{gr.Jesus}, Choose out for thyself mighty men, and go forth and set the army in array against Amalek{gr.Amalec} to-morrow; and, behold, I [shall] stand on the top of the hill, and the rod of God [will be] in my hand. |

And Joshua{gr.Jesus} did as Mosheh{gr.Moses} said to him, and he went out and set the army in array against Amalek{gr.Amalec}, and Mosheh{gr.Moses} and Aaron and Or went up to the top of the hill. |

And it came to pass, when Mosheh{gr.Moses} lifted up his hands, Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hands, Amalek{gr.Amalec} prevailed. |

And it came to pass,º

his hand,º
that Israelº
prevailed:ºº
and whenº
he let downºº
his hand,º
Amalekº
prevailed.ºº |

But the hands of Mosheh{gr.Moses} were heavy, and they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat upon it; and Aaron and Or supported his hands one on this side and the other on that, and the hands of Mosheh{gr.Moses} were supported till the going down of the sun. |

a stone,º
and putºº
[it] underº
him, and he satºº
thereon;º
and Aaronº
and Hurº
stayed upºº
his hands,º
the oneº
on the one side,ººº
and the otherº
on the other side;ººº
and his handsº

steadyº
untilº
the going downºº
of the sun.º |

And Joshua{gr.Jesus} routed Amalek{gr.Amalec} and all his people with the slaughter of the sword. |

And Joshuaº
discomfitedººº
Amalekº
and his peopleº
with the edgeº
of the sword.º |

17:14
And the Lord said to Mosheh{gr.Moses}, Write this for a memorial in a book, and speak [this] in the ears of Joshua{gr.Jesus}; for I will utterly blot out the memorial of Amalek{gr.Amalec} from under heaven. |

And Mosheh{gr.Moses} built an altar to the Lord, and called the name of it, The Lord my Refuge. |

For with a secret hand the Lord wages war upon Amalek{gr.Amalec} to all generations. |

For he said,ºº
Becauseº
Yahº
hath swornººº
[that] Yahwehº
[will have] warº
with Amalekº
from generationºº
to generation.º |
