 34:1 ¶ And the Lord said to Mosheh{gr.Moses}, Hew for thyself two tables of stone, as also the first were, and come up to me to the mountain; and I will write upon the tables the words, which were on the first tables, which thou brokest.

 34:1 ¶ And Yahwehº saidºº untoº Moses,º Hewºº thee twoº tablesº of stoneº like unto the first:º and I will writeºº uponº [these] tablesºº the wordsº thatº wereº inº the firstº tables,º whichº thou brakest.ºº

 34:2 And be ready by the morning, and thou shalt go up to the mount Sinai{gr.Sina}, and shalt stand there for me on the top of the mountain.

 34:2 And beº readyºº in the morning,º and come upºº in the morningº untoº mountº Sinai,º and presentºº thyselfº thereº to me inº the topº of the mount.º

 34:3 And let no one go up with thee, nor be seen in all the mountain; and let not the sheep and oxen feed near that mountain.

 34:3 And noº manº shall come upºº withº thee, neitherºº let any manº be seenºº throughout allº the mount;º neitherºº let the flocksº nor herdsº feedºº beforeºº thatº mount.º

 34:4 ¶ And [Mosheh{gr.Moses}] hewed two tables of stone, as also the first were; and Mosheh{gr.Moses} having arisen early, went up to the mount Sinai{gr.Sina}, as the Lord appointed him; and Mosheh{gr.Moses} took the two tables of stone.

 34:4 ¶ And he hewedºº twoº tablesº of stoneº like unto the first;º and Mosesº rose up earlyºº in the morning,º and went upºº untoº mountº Sinai,º asº Yahwehº had commandedºº him, and tookºº in his handº the twoº tablesº of stone.º

 34:5 And the Lord descended in a cloud, and stood near him there, and called by the name of the Lord.

 34:5 And Yahwehº descendedºº in the cloud,º and stoodºº withº him there,º and proclaimedºº the nameº of Yahweh.º

 34:6 And the Lord passed by before his face, and proclaimed, The Lord God, pitiful and merciful, longsuffering and very compassionate, and true,

 34:6 And Yahwehº passed byºº beforeºº him,º and proclaimed,ºº Yahweh,º Yahwehº El,º mercifulº and gracious,º longsuffering,ºº and abundantº in goodnessº and truth,º

 34:7 and keeping justice and mercy for thousands, taking away iniquity, and unrighteousness, and sins; and he will not clear the guilty; bringing the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and to the children's children, to the third and fourth generation.

 34:7 Keepingºº mercyº for thousands,º forgivingºº iniquityº and transgressionº and sin,º and that will by no meansºº clearººº [the guilty]; visitingºº the iniquityº of the fathersº uponº the children,º and uponº the children'sº children,º untoº the thirdº and toº the fourthº [generation].

 34:8 And Mosheh{gr.Moses} hasted, and bowed to the earth and worshipped;

 34:8 And Mosesº made haste,ºº and bowed his headºº toward the earth,º and worshipped.ºº

 34:9 and said, If I have found grace before thee, let my Lord go with us; for the people is stiff-necked: and thou shalt take away our sins and our iniquities, and we will be thine.

 34:9 And he said,ºº Ifº nowº I have foundºº graceº in thy sight,º O Yahweh,º let Yahweh,º I pray thee,º goººº amongº us; forº itº [is] a stiffneckedºº people;º and pardonºº our iniquityº and our sin,º and take us for thine inheritance.ºº

 34:10 ¶ And the Lord said to Mosheh{gr.Moses}, Behold, I establish a covenant for thee in the presence of all thy people; I will do glorious things, which have not been done in all the earth, or in any nation; and all the people among whom thou art shall see the works of the Lord, that they are wonderful, which I will do for thee.

 34:10 ¶ And he said,ºº Behold,º Iº makeºº a covenant:º beforeº allº thy peopleº I will doºº marvels,ºº such asº have notº been doneºº in allº the earth,º nor in anyº nation:º and allº the peopleº amongº whichº thouº [art] shall seeººº the workº of Yahweh:º forº itº [is] a terrible thingºº thatº Iº will doºº withº thee.

 34:11 Do thou take heed to all things whatsoever I command thee: behold, I cast out before your face the Amorite and the Canaanite{gr.Chananite} and the Perizzite{gr.Pherezite}, and the Hittite{gr.Chettite}, and Hivite{gr.Evite}, and Girgashite{gr.Gergesite} and Jebusite:

 34:11 Observeºº thouº that whichº Iº commandºº thee this day:º behold,º I drive outºº beforeºº theeº the Amorite,º and the Canaanite,º and the Hittite,º and the Perizzite,º and the Hivite,º and the Jebusite.º

 34:12 take heed to thyself, lest at any time thou make a covenant with the dwellers on the land, into which thou art entering, lest it be to thee a stumbling-block among you.

 34:12 Take heedºº to thyself, lestº thou makeºº a covenantº with the inhabitantsºº of the landº whitherºº thouº goest,ºº lestº it beº for a snareº in the midstº of thee:

 34:13 Ye shall destroy their altars, and break in pieces their pillars, and ye shall cut down their groves, and the graven images of their gods ye shall burn with fire.

 34:13 Butº ye shall destroyººº their altars,º breakºº their images,º and cut downºº their groves:º

 34:14 For ye shall not worship strange gods, for the Lord God, a jealous name, is a jealous God;

 34:14 Forº thou shalt worshipºº noº otherº el:º forº Yahweh,º whose nameº [is] Jealous,º [is] a jealousº El:º

 34:15 lest at any time thou make a covenant with the dwellers on the land, and they go a whoring after their gods, and sacrifice to their gods, and they call thee, and thou shouldest eat of their feasts,

 34:15 Lestº thou makeºº a covenantº with the inhabitantsºº of the land,º and they go a whoringºº afterº their elohim,º and do sacrificeºº unto their elohim,º and [one] callºº thee, and thou eatºº of his sacrifice;ºº

 34:16 and thou shouldest take of their daughters to thy sons, and thou shouldest give of thy daughters to their sons; and thy daughters should go a whoring after their gods, and thy sons should go a whoring after their gods.

 34:16 And thou takeºº of their daughtersºº unto thy sons,º and their daughtersº go a whoringºº afterº their elohim,º and makeººº thy sonsº go a whoringºº afterº their elohim.º

 34:17 And thou shalt not make to thyself molten gods.

 34:17 Thou shalt makeºº thee noº moltenº elohim.º

 34:18 ¶ And thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread: seven days shalt thou eat unleavened bread, as I have charged thee, at the season in the month of new [corn]; for in the month of new [corn] thou camest out from Mizraim{gr.Egypt}.

 34:18 ¶ º The feastº of unleavened breadº shalt thou keep.ºº Sevenº daysº thou shalt eatºº unleavened bread,º asº I commandedºº thee, in the timeº of the monthº Abib:º forº in the monthº Abibº thou camest outºº from Egypt.ºº

 34:19 The males [are] mine, everything that opens the womb; every first-born of oxen, and [every] first-born of sheep.

 34:19 Allº that openethº the matrixº [is] mine; and everyº firstlingº among thy cattle,º [whether] oxº or sheep,º [that is male].ººº

 34:20 And the first-born of an ass thou shalt redeem with a sheep, and if thou wilt not redeem it thou shalt pay a price: every first-born of thy sons shalt thou redeem: thou shalt not appear before me empty.

 34:20 But the firstlingº of an assº thou shalt redeemºº with a lamb:º and ifº thou redeemºº [him] not,º then shalt thou break his neck.ºº Allº the firstbornº of thy sonsº thou shalt redeem.ºº And noneº shall appearºº beforeº me empty.º

 34:21 ¶ Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest: [there shall be] rest in seed-time and harvest.

 34:21 ¶ Sixº daysº thou shalt work,ºº but on the seventhº dayº thou shalt rest:ºº in earing timeº and in harvestº thou shalt rest.ºº

 34:22 ¶ And thou shalt keep to me the feast of weeks, the beginning of wheat-harvest; and the feast of ingathering in the middle of the year.

 34:22 ¶ And thou shalt observeºº the feastº of weeks,º of the firstfruitsº of wheatº harvest,º and the feastº of ingatheringº at the year'sº end.º

 34:23 ¶ Three times in the year shall every male of thine appear before the Lord the God of Israel.

 34:23 ¶ Thriceºº in the yearº shall allº your men childrenº appearººº beforeº Adonº Yahweh,º the Elohimº of Israel.º

 34:24 For when I shall have cast out the nations before thy face, and shall have enlarged thy coasts, no one shall desire thy land, whenever thou mayest go up to appear before the Lord thy God, three times in the year.

 34:24 Forº I will cast outºº the nationsº beforeºº thee, and enlargeººº thy borders:º neitherº shall any manº desireººº thy land,º when thou shalt go upºº to appearººº beforeº Yahwehº thy Elohimº thriceºº in the year.º

 34:25 Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifices with leaven, neither shall the sacrifices of the feast of the passover remain till the morning.

 34:25 Thou shalt notº offerºº the bloodº of my sacrificeº withº leaven;º neitherº shall the sacrificeº of the feastº of the passoverº be leftºº unto the morning.º

 34:26 The first-fruits of thy land shalt thou put into the house of the Lord thy God: thou shalt not boil a lamb in his mother's milk.

 34:26 The firstº of the firstfruitsº of thy landº thou shalt bringºº unto the houseº of Yahwehº thy Elohim.º Thou shalt notº seetheºº a kidº in his mother'sº milk.º

 34:27 And the Lord said to Mosheh{gr.Moses}, Write these words for thyself, for on these words I have established a covenant with thee and with Israel.

 34:27 And Yahwehº saidºº untoº Moses,º Writeºº thouº theseº words:º forº afterº the tenorº of theseº wordsº I have madeºº a covenantº withº thee and withº Israel.º

 34:28 And Mosheh{gr.Moses} was there before the Lord forty days, and forty nights; he did not eat bread, and he did not drink water; and he wrote upon the tables these words of the covenant, the ten sayings.

 34:28 And he wasº thereº withº Yahwehº fortyº daysº and fortyº nights;º he did neitherº eatºº bread,º norº drinkºº water.º And he wroteºº uponº the tablesºº the wordsº of the covenant,º the tenº commandments.º

 34:29 ¶ And when Mosheh{gr.Moses} went down from the mountain, [there were] the two tables in the hands of Mosheh{gr.Moses},-- as then he went down from the mountain, Mosheh{gr.Moses} knew not that the appearance of the skin of his face was glorified, when God spoke to him.

 34:29 ¶ And it came to pass,º when Mosesº came downºº from mountºº Sinaiº with the twoº tablesº of testimonyº in Moses'º hand,º when he came downºº fromº the mount,º that Mosesº wistºº notº thatº the skinº of his faceº shoneºº while he talkedºº withº him.

 34:30 And Aaron and all the elders of Israel saw Mosheh{gr.Moses}, and the appearance of the skin of his face was made glorious, and they feared to approach him.

 34:30 And when Aaronº and allº the childrenº of Israelº sawººº Moses,º behold,º the skinº of his faceº shone;ºº and they were afraidºº to come nighºººº him.

 34:31 And Mosheh{gr.Moses} called them, and Aaron and all the rulers of the synagogue turned towards him, and Mosheh{gr.Moses} spoke to them.

 34:31 And Mosesº calledºº untoº them; and Aaronº and allº the rulersº of the congregationº returnedºº untoº him: and Mosesº talkedºº withº them.

 34:32 And afterwards all the children of Israel came to him, and he commanded them all things, whatsoever the Lord had commanded him in the mount of Sinai{gr.Sina}.

 34:32 And afterwardºº allº the childrenº of Israelº came nigh:ºº and he gave them in commandmentººº allº thatº Yahwehº had spokenºº withº him in mountº Sinai.º

 34:33 And when he ceased speaking to them, he put a veil on his face.

 34:33 And [till] Mosesº had doneºº speakingººº withº them, he putºº a vailº onº his face.º

 34:34 And whenever Mosheh{gr.Moses} went in before the Lord to speak to him, he took off the veil till he went out, and he went forth and spoke to all the children of Israel whatsoever the Lord commanded him.

 34:34 But when Mosesº went inºº beforeº Yahwehº to speakºº withº him, he tookºº the vailº off,ºººº untilº he came out.ºº And he came out,ºº and spakeºº untoº the childrenº of Israelºº [that] whichº he was commanded.ºº

 34:35 And the children of Israel saw the face of Mosheh{gr.Moses}, that it was glorified; and Mosheh{gr.Moses} put the veil over his face, till he went in to speak with him.

 34:35 And the childrenº of Israelº sawººº the faceº of Moses,º thatº the skinº of Moses'º faceº shone:ºº and Mosesº putººº the vailº uponº his faceº again,ºº untilº he wentºº inº to speakºº withº him.
