And in the third month of the departure of the children of Israel out of the land of Mizraim{gr.Egypt}, on the same day, they came into the wilderness of Sinai{gr.Sina}. |

they [into] the wildernessº

And they departed from Raphidin, and came into the wilderness of Sinai{gr.Sina}, and there Israel encamped before the mountain. |

For they were departedºº
from Rephidim,ºº
and were comeºº
[to] the desertº
of Sinai,º
and had pitchedºº
in the wilderness;º
and thereº
Israelº
campedºº
beforeº
the mount.º |

And Mosheh{gr.Moses} went up to the mount of God, and God called him out of the mountain, saying, These things shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and thou shalt report them to the children of Israel. |

untoº
him out ofº
the mountain,º
saying,ºº
Thusº
shalt thou sayºº
to the houseº
of Jacob,º
and tellºº
the childrenº
of Israel;º |

Ye have seen all that I have done to the Mizraimites{gr.Egyptians}, and I took you up as upon eagles' wings, and I brought you near to myself. |

unto the Egyptians,º
and [how] I bareºº
you onº
eagles'º
wings,º
and broughtºº
you untoº
myself. |

And now if ye will indeed hear my voice, and keep my covenant, ye shall be to me a peculiar people above all nations; for the whole earth is mine. |

therefore, ifº
ye will obeyºº
my voiceº
indeed,ººº
and keepººº
my covenant,º
then ye shall beº
a peculiar treasureº
unto me above allºº
people:º
forº
allº
the earthº
[is] mine: |

And ye shall be to me a royal priesthood and a holy nation: these words shalt thou speak to the children of Israel. |

unto me a kingdomº
of priests,º
and an holyº
nation.º
Theseº
[are] the wordsº
whichº
thou shalt speakºº
untoº
the childrenº
of Israel.º |

19:7 ¶
And Mosheh{gr.Moses} came and called the elders of the people, and he set before them all these words, which God appointed them. |
|

And Mosesº

and calledºº
for the eldersº
of the people,º
and laidºº
before their facesºº
allº
theseº
wordsº
whichº
Yahwehº
commandedºº
him. |

19:8
And all the people answered with one accord, and said, All things that God has spoken, we will do and hearken to: and Mosheh{gr.Moses} reported these words to God. |

thatº
Yahwehº
hath spokenºº
we will do.ºº
And Mosesº
returnedººº
the wordsº
of the peopleº

And the Lord said to Mosheh{gr.Moses}, Lo! I come to thee in a pillar of a cloud, that the people may hear me speaking to thee, and may believe thee for ever: and Mosheh{gr.Moses} reported the words of the people to the Lord. |

And the Lord said to Mosheh{gr.Moses}, Go down and solemnly charge the people, and sanctify them to-day and to-morrow, and let them wash their garments. |

them to dayº
and to morrow,º
and let them washºº
their clothes,º |

And let them be ready against the third day, for on the third day the Lord will descend upon mount Sinai{gr.Sina} before all the people. |

in the sightº

the peopleº
uponº

And thou shalt separate the people round about, saying, Take heed to yourselves that ye go not up into the mountain, nor touch any part of it: every one that touches the mountain shall surely die. |

And thou shalt set boundsººº
unto the peopleº
round about,º
saying,ºº
Take heedºº
to yourselves, [that ye] go [not] upºº
into the mount,º
or touchºº
the borderº
of it: whosoeverº
touchethºº
the mountº
shall be surelyºº
put to death:ºº |

A hand shall not touch it, for [every one that touches] shall be stoned with stones or shot through with a dart, whether beast or whether man, it shall not live: when the voices and trumpets and cloud depart from off the mountain, they shall come up on the mountain. |

through;ºº
whetherº
[it be] beastº

it shall notº

when the trumpetº

And Mosheh{gr.Moses} went down from the mountain to the people, and sanctified them, and they washed their clothes. |

And he said to the people, Be ready: for three days come not near to a woman. |

against the thirdº

comeºº
notº
atº
[your] wives.º |

19:16 ¶
And it came to pass on the third day, as the morning drew nigh, there were voices and lightnings and a dark cloud on mount Sinai{gr.Sina}: the voice of the trumpet sounded loud, and all the people in the camp trembled. |
|

And it came to passº
on the thirdº

in the morning,º
that there wereº
thundersº
and lightnings,º
and a thickº
cloudº
uponº
the mount,º
and the voiceº
of the trumpetº
exceedingº
loud;º
so that allº
the peopleº
thatº
[was] in the campº
trembled.ºº |

And Mosheh{gr.Moses} led the people forth out of the camp to meet God, and they stood by under the camp. |

And Mosesº
brought forthººº
the peopleº
out ofº
the campº
to meetºº
with Elohim;º
and they stoodºº
at the netherº
partº
of the mount.º |

19:18
The mount of Sinai{gr.Sina} was altogether on a smoke, because God had descended upon it in fire; and the smoke went up as the smoke of a furnace, and the people were exceedingly amazed. |

And mountº

it in fire:º
and the smokeº
thereof ascendedºº
as the smokeº
of a furnace,º
and the wholeº

quakedºº

And the sounds of the trumpet were waxing very much louder. Mosheh{gr.Moses} spoke, and God answered him with a voice. |

And whenº
the voiceº
of the trumpetº
soundedº
long,ºº
and waxed louderº
and louder,ºº
Mosesº
spake,ºº
and Elohimº
answeredºº
him by a voice.º |

And the Lord came down upon mount Sinai{gr.Sina} on the top of the mountain; and the Lord called Mosheh{gr.Moses} to the top of the mountain, and Mosheh{gr.Moses} went up. |

the topº
of the mount:º
and Yahwehº

Mosesº

of the mount;º
and Mosesº

And God spoke to Mosheh{gr.Moses}, saying, Go down, and solemnly charge the people, lest at any time they draw nigh to God to gaze, and a multitude of them fall. |

And Yahwehº

the people,º
lestº
they break throughºº
untoº
Yahwehº
to gaze,ºº
and manyº
ofº
them perish.ºº |

And let the priests that draw nigh to the Lord God sanctify themselves, lest he destroy some of them. |

And let the priestsº
also,º
which come nearºº
toº
Yahweh,º
sanctifyºº
themselves,º
lestº
Yahwehº
break forthºº
upon them. |

19:23
And Mosheh{gr.Moses} said to God, The people will not be able to approach to the mount of Sinai{gr.Sina}, for thou hast solemnly charged us, saying, Set bounds to the mountain and sanctify it. |

The peopleº
cannotººº
come upºº
toº
mountº
Sinai:º
forº
thouº
chargedstºº
us, saying,ºº
Set boundsººº
about the mount,º
and sanctifyºº

And the Lord said to him, Go, descend, and come up thou and Aaron with thee; but let not the priests and the people force their way to come up to God, lest the Lord destroy some of them. |

get thee down,ºº
and thou shalt come up,ºº
thou,º
and Aaronº
withº
thee: but let notº
the priestsº
and the peopleº
break throughºº
to come upºº

And Mosheh{gr.Moses} went down to the people, and spoke to them. |
