  17:1 ¶
And Abram was ninety-nine years old, and the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, I am thy God, be well-pleasing before me, and be blameless. |

And I will establish my covenant between me and thee, and I will multiply thee exceedingly. |

me and thee, and will multiplyºº
thee exceedingly.º |

And Abram fell upon his face, and God spoke to him, saying, |

talkedºº

And I, behold! my covenant [is] with thee, and thou shalt be a father of a multitude of nations. |

As for me,º
behold,º
my covenantº
[is] withº
thee, and thou shalt beº
a fatherº
of manyº
nations.º |

And thy name shall no more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham{gr.Abraam}, for I have made thee a father of many nations. |

be calledºº
Abram,º
but thy nameº
shall beº
Abraham;º
forº
a fatherº
of manyº
nationsº
have I madeº

And I will increase thee very exceedingly, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. |

fruitful,ºº
and I will makeºº
nationsº
of thee, and kingsº
shall come outºº
ofº
thee. |

17:7
And I will establish my covenant between thee and thy seed after thee, to their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be thy God, and [the God] of thy seed after thee. |

in their generationsº
for an everlastingº
covenant,º

an Elohimº
unto thee, and to thy seedº

And I will give to thee and to thy seed after thee the land wherein thou sojournest, even all the land of Canaan{gr.Chanaan} for an everlasting possession, and I will be to them a God. |

wherein thou art a stranger,ºº

of Canaan,º

And God said to Abraham{gr.Abraam}, Thou also shalt fully keep my covenant, thou and thy seed after thee for their generations. |

shalt keepººº
my covenantº
therefore, thou,º
and thy seedº
afterº
theeº
in their generations.º |

And this [is] the covenant which thou shalt fully keep between me and you, and between thy seed after thee for their generations; every male of you shall be circumcised. |

Thisº
[is] my covenant,º
whichº
ye shall keep,ºº
betweenº
me and you and thy seedº
afterº
thee;º
Everyº
man childº
among you shall be circumcised.ºº |

And ye shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskin, and it shall be for a sign of a covenant between me and you. |

the fleshº
of your foreskin;º
and it shall beº
a tokenº
of the covenantº
betwixtº
me and you. |

17:12
And the child of eight days [old] shall be circumcised by you, every male throughout your generations, and [the servant] born in the house and he that is bought with money, of every son of a stranger, who is not of thy seed. |

And he that is eightº

shall be circumcisedºº
among you, everyº
man childº
in your generations,º
he that is bornº
in the house,º
or boughtº
with moneyº
of anyºº
stranger,ºº
whichº
[is] notº
of thy seed.ºº |

He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with money shall be surely circumcised, and my covenant shall be on your flesh for an everlasting covenant. |

He that is bornº
in thy house,º
and he that is boughtº
with thy money,º
must needsºº
be circumcised:ºº
and my covenantº
shall beº
in your fleshº
for an everlastingº
covenant.º |

And the uncircumcised male, who shall not be circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin on the eighth day, that soul shall be utterly destroyed from its family, for he has broken my covenant. |

And the uncircumcisedº
man childº
whoseºº
fleshº
of his foreskinº
is notº
circumcised,ºº
thatº
soulº
shall be cut offºº
from his people;ºº
he hath brokenººº
my covenant.º |

17:15 ¶
And God said to Abraham{gr.Abraam}, Sarai{gr.Sara} thy wife-- her name shall not be called Sarai{gr.Sara}, Sarah{gr.Sarrha} shall be her name. |

As for Saraiº
thy wife,º
thou shalt notº
callººº
her nameº
Sarai,º
butº
Sarahº
[shall] her nameº
[be]. |

And I will bless her, and give thee a son of her, and I will bless him, and he shall become nations, and kings of nations shall be of him. |

alsoº
ofº
her: yea, I will blessºº
her, and she shall beº
[a mother] of nations;º
kingsº
of peopleº
shall beº
ofº
her. |

And Abraham{gr.Abraam} fell upon his face, and laughed; and spoke in his heart, saying, Shall there be a child to one who is a hundred years old, and shall Sarah{gr.Sarrha} who is ninety years old, bear? |

Then Abrahamº

his face,º
and laughed,ºº
and saidºº
in his heart,º
Shall [a child] be bornºº
unto him that is an hundredº
yearsº
old?º
and shall Sarah,º
that is ninetyº
yearsº

And Abraham{gr.Abraam} said to God, Let this Ishmael{gr.Ismael} live before thee. |

And Abrahamº

Elohim,º
O thatº
Ishmaelº
might liveºº
beforeº
thee!º |

And God said to Abraham{gr.Abraam}, Yea, behold, Sarah{gr.Sarrha} thy wife shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name Isaac; and I will establish my covenant with him, for an everlasting covenant, to be a God to him and to his seed after him. |

and thou shalt callººº

Isaac:º
and I will establishººº
my covenantº

And concerning Ishmael{gr.Ismael}, behold, I have heard thee, and, behold, I have blessed him, and will increase him and multiply him exceedingly; twelve nations shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation. |

And as for Ishmael,º
I have heardº
thee:ºº
Behold,º
I have blessedºº
him, and will make him fruitful,ººº
and will multiplyºº
him exceedingly;º
twelveºº
princesº
shall he beget,ºº
and I will makeº
himºº
a greatº
nation.º |

But I will establish my covenant with Isaac, whom Sarah{gr.Sarrha} shall bear to thee at this time, in the next year. |
|

But my covenantº
will I establishºº
withº
Isaac,º
whichº
Sarahº
shall bearºº
unto thee at thisº
set timeº
in the nextº
year.º |

And he left off speaking with him, and God went up from Abraham{gr.Abraam}. |

him, and Elohimº
went upºº
fromºº
Abraham.º |

17:23 ¶
And Abraham{gr.Abraam} took Ishmael{gr.Ismael} his son, and all his home-born [servants], and all those bought with money, and every male of the men in the house of Abraham{gr.Abraam}, and he circumcised their foreskins in the time of that day, according as God spoke to him. |

And Abraham{gr.Abraam} was ninety-nine years old, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin. |

And Ishmael{gr.Ismael} his son was thirteen years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin. |

And Ishmaelº

[was] thirteenºº

old,º
when he was circumcisedººº
in the fleshº
of his foreskin.º |

17:26
And at the period of that day, Abraham{gr.Abraam} was circumcised, and Ishmael{gr.Ismael} his son, |

and Ishmaelº

and all the men of his house, both those born in the house, and those bought with money of foreign nations. |
