 36:1 ¶ And these [are] the generations of Esau; this is Edom.

 36:1 ¶ Now theseº [are] the generationsº of Esau,º whoº [is] Edom.º

 36:2 And Esau took to himself wives of the daughters of the Canaanites{gr.Chananites}; Adah{gr.Ada}, the daughter of Aijalon{gr.Aelom} the Hittite{gr.Chettite}; and Aholibamah{gr.Olibema}, daughter of Anah{gr.Ana} the son of Zibeon{gr.Sebegon}, the Hivite{gr.Evite};

 36:2 Esauº tookººº his wivesº of the daughtersºº of Canaan;ºº Adahº the daughterº of Elonº the Hittite,º and Aholibamahº the daughterº of Anahº the daughterº of Zibeonº the Hivite;º

 36:3 and Bashemath{gr.Basemath}, daughter of Ishmael{gr.Ismael}, sister of Nabaioth.

 36:3 And Bashemathº Ishmael'sº daughter,º sisterº of Nebajoth.º

 36:4 And Adah{gr.Ada} bore to him Eliphaz{gr.Eliphas}; and Bashemath{gr.Basemath} bore Reuel{gr.Raguel}.

 36:4 And Adahº bareºº to Esauºº Eliphaz;º and Bashemathº bareººº Reuel;º

 36:5 And Aholibamah{gr.Olibema} bore Jeus, and Jeglom, and Korah{gr.Core}; these [are] the sons of Esau, which were born to him in the land of Canaan{gr.Chanaan}.

 36:5 And Aholibamahº bareººº Jeush,ºº and Jaalam,º and Korah:º theseº [are] the sonsº of Esau,º whichº were bornºº unto him in the landº of Canaan.º

 36:6 And Esau took his wives, and his sons, and his daughters, and all the persons of his house, and all his possessions, and all his cattle, and all that he had got, and all things whatsoever he had acquired in the land of Canaan{gr.Chanaan}; and Esau went forth from the land of Canaan{gr.Chanaan}, from the face of his brother Jacob.

 36:6 And Esauº tookººº his wives,º and his sons,º and his daughters,º and allº the personsº of his house,º and his cattle,º and allº his beasts,º and allº his substance,º whichº he had gotºº in the landº of Canaan;º and wentººº intoº the countryº from the faceºº of his brotherº Jacob.º

 36:7 For their substance was too great for them to dwell together; and the land of their sojourning could not bear them, because of the abundance of their possessions.

 36:7 Forº their richesº wereº moreº thanº that they might dwellººº together;º and the landº wherein they were strangersº couldºº notº bearºº them becauseºº of their cattle.º

 36:8 And Esau dwelt in mount Seir; Esau, he is Edom.

 36:8 Thus dweltºº Esauº in mountº Seir:º Esauº [is] Edom.º

 36:9 ¶ And these [are] the generations of Esau, the father of Edom in the mount Seir.

 36:9 ¶ And theseº [are] the generationsº of Esauº the fatherº of the Edomitesº in mountº Seir:º

 36:10 And these [are] the names of the sons of Esau. Eliphaz{gr.Eliphas}, the son of Adah{gr.Ada}, the wife of Esau; and Reuel{gr.Raguel}, the son of Bashemath{gr.Basemath}, wife of Esau.

 36:10 Theseº [are] the namesº of Esau'sº sons;º Eliphazº the sonº of Adahº the wifeº of Esau,º Reuelº the sonº of Bashemathº the wifeº of Esau.º

 36:11 And the sons of Eliphaz{gr.Eliphas} were Teman{gr.Thaeman}, Omar, Sophar, Gothom, and Kenaz{gr.Kenez}.

 36:11 And the sonsº of Eliphazº wereº Teman,º Omar,º Zepho,º and Gatam,º and Kenaz.º

 36:12 And Timnath{gr.Thamna} was a concubine of Eliphaz, the son of Esau; and she bore Amalek{gr.Amalec} to Eliphaz{gr.Eliphas}. These [are] the sons of Adah{gr.Ada}, the wife of Esau.

 36:12 And Timnaº wasº concubineº to Eliphazº Esau'sº son;º and she bareºº to Eliphazºº Amalek:º theseº [were] the sonsº of Adahº Esau'sº wife.º

 36:13 And these [are] the sons of Reuel{gr.Raguel}; Nachoth, Zerah{gr.Zare}, Some, and Moze. These were the sons of Bashemath{gr.Basemath}, wife of Esau.

 36:13 And theseº [are] the sonsº of Reuel;º Nahath,º and Zerah,º Shammah,º and Mizzah:º theseº wereº the sonsº of Bashemathº Esau'sº wife.º

 36:14 ¶ And these [are] the sons of Aholibamah{gr.Olibema}, the daughter of Anah{gr.Ana}, the son of Zibeon{gr.Sebegon}, the wife of Esau; and she bore to Esau, Jeus, and Jeglom, and Korah{gr.Core}.

 36:14 ¶ And theseº wereº the sonsº of Aholibamah,º the daughterº of Anahº the daughterº of Zibeon,º Esau'sº wife:º and she bareºº to Esauºº Jeush,ºº and Jaalam,º and Korah.º

 36:15 ¶ These [are] the chiefs of the son of Esau, [even] the sons of Eliphaz{gr.Eliphas}, the first-born of Esau; chief Teman{gr.Thaeman}, chief Omar, chief Sophar, chief Kenaz{gr.Kenez},

 36:15 ¶ Theseº [were] dukesº of the sonsº of Esau:º the sonsº of Eliphazº the firstbornº [son] of Esau;º dukeº Teman,º dukeº Omar,º dukeº Zepho,º dukeº Kenaz,º

 36:16 chief Korah{gr.Core}, chief Gothom, chief Amalek{gr.Amalec}. These [are] the chiefs of Eliphaz{gr.Eliphas}, in the land of Edom; these are the sons of Adah{gr.Ada}.

 36:16 Dukeº Korah,º dukeº Gatam,º [and] dukeº Amalek:º theseº [are] the dukesº [that came] of Eliphazº in the landº of Edom;º theseº [were] the sonsº of Adah.º

 36:17 ¶ And these [are] the sons of Reuel{gr.Raguel}, the son of Esau; chief Nachoth, chief Zerah{gr.Zare}, chief Some, chief Moze. These [are] the chiefs of Reuel{gr.Raguel}, in the land of Edom; these are the sons of Bashemath{gr.Basemath}, wife of Esau.

 36:17 ¶ And theseº [are] the sonsº of Reuelº Esau'sº son;º dukeº Nahath,º dukeº Zerah,º dukeº Shammah,º dukeº Mizzah:º theseº [are] the dukesº [that came] of Reuelº in the landº of Edom;º theseº [are] the sonsº of Bashemathº Esau'sº wife.º

 36:18 ¶ And these [are] the sons of Aholibamah{gr.Olibema}, wife of Esau; chief Jeus, chief Jeglom, chief Korah{gr.Core}. These [are] the chiefs of Aholibamah{gr.Olibema}, daughter of Anah{gr.Ana}, wife of Esau.

 36:18 ¶ And theseº [are] the sonsº of Aholibamahº Esau'sº wife;º dukeº Jeush,º dukeº Jaalam,º dukeº Korah:º theseº [were] the dukesº [that came] of Aholibamahº the daughterº of Anah,º Esau'sº wife.º

 36:19 These [are] the sons of Esau, and these are the chiefs; these are the sons of Edom.

 36:19 Theseº [are] the sonsº of Esau,º whoº [is] Edom,º and theseº [are] their dukes.º

 36:20 ¶ And these [are] the sons of Seir, the Horite{gr.Chorrhite}, who inhabited the land; Lotan, Shobal{gr.Sobal}, Zibeon{gr.Sebegon}, Anah{gr.Ana},

 36:20 ¶ Theseº [are] the sonsº of Seirº the Horite,º who inhabitedºº the land;º Lotan,º and Shobal,º and Zibeon,º and Anah,º

 36:21 and Deson, and Asar, and Rison. These [are] the chiefs of the Horite{gr.Chorrhite}, the son of Seir, in the land of Edom.

 36:21 And Dishon,º and Ezer,º and Dishan:º theseº [are] the dukesº of the Horites,º the childrenº of Seirº in the landº of Edom.º

 36:22 And the sons of Lotan [were] Hori{gr.Chorrhi} and Haeman; and the sister of Lotan, Timnath{gr.Thamna}.

 36:22 And the childrenº of Lotanº wereº Horiº and Hemam;º and Lotan'sº sisterº [was] Timna.º

 36:23 And these [are] the sons of Shobal{gr.Sobal}; Golam, and Manachath, and Ebal{gr.Gaebel}, and Sophar, and Omar.

 36:23 And the childrenº of Shobalº [were] these;º Alvan,º and Manahath,º and Ebal,º Shepho,º and Onam.º

 36:24 And these [are] the sons of Zibeon{gr.Sebegon}; Aie, and Anah{gr.Ana}; this is the Anah{gr.Ana} who found Jamin in the wilderness, when he tended the beasts of his father Zibeon{gr.Sebegon}.

 36:24 And theseº [are] the childrenº of Zibeon;º both Ajah,º and Anah:º thisº [was that] Anahº thatº foundººº the mulesº in the wilderness,º as he fedººº the assesº of Zibeonº his father.º

 36:25 And these [are] the sons of Anah{gr.Ana}; Deson-- and Aholibamah{gr.Olibema} [was] daughter of Anah{gr.Ana}.

 36:25 And the childrenº of Anahº [were] these;º Dishon,º and Aholibamahº the daughterº of Anah.º

 36:26 And these [are] the sons of Deson; Amada, and Asban, and Ithran, and Haran{gr.Charrhan}.

 36:26 And theseº [are] the childrenº of Dishon;º Hemdan,º and Eshban,º and Ithran,º and Cheran.º

 36:27 And these [are] the sons of Asar; Balaam, and Zucam, and Jucam.

 36:27 The childrenº of Ezerº [are] these;º Bilhan,º and Zaavan,º and Akan.º

 36:28 And these [are] the sons of Rison; Hos, and Aran.

 36:28 The childrenº of Dishanº [are] these;º Uz,º and Aran.º

 36:29 And these [are] the chiefs of Hori{gr.Chorri}; chief Lotan, chief Shobal{gr.Sobal}, chief Zibeon{gr.Sebegon}, chief Anah{gr.Ana},

 36:29 Theseº [are] the dukesº [that came] of the Horites;º dukeº Lotan,º dukeº Shobal,º dukeº Zibeon,º dukeº Anah,º

 36:30 chief Deson, chief Asar, chief Rison. These [are] the chiefs of Hori{gr.Chorri}, in their principalities in the land of Edom.

 36:30 Dukeº Dishon,º dukeº Ezer,º dukeº Dishan:º theseº [are] the dukesº [that came] of Hori,º among their dukesº in the landº of Seir.º

 36:31 ¶ These [are] the kings which reigned in Edom, before a king reigned in Israel.

 36:31 ¶ And theseº [are] the kingsº thatº reignedºº in the landº of Edom,º beforeº there reignedºº any kingº over the childrenº of Israel.º

 36:32 And Bela{gr.Balac}, son of Beor, reigned in Edom; and the name of his city [was] Dennaba.

 36:32 And Belaº the sonº of Beorº reignedºº in Edom:º and the nameº of his cityº [was] Dinhabah.º

 36:33 And Bela{gr.Balac} died; and Jobab, son of Zerah{gr.Zara}, from Bosorrha reigned in his stead.

 36:33 And Belaº died,ºº and Jobabº the sonº of Zerahº of Bozrahºº reignedºº in his stead.º

 36:34 And Jobab died; and Husham{gr.Asom}, from the land of the Temanites{gr.Thaemanites}, reigned in his stead.

 36:34 And Jobabº died,ºº and Hushamº of the landºº of Temaniº reignedºº in his stead.º

 36:35 And Husham{gr.Asom} died; and Hadad{gr.Adad} son of Barad, who cut off Midian{gr.Madiam} in the plain of Moab, ruled in his stead; and the name of his city was Getthaim.

 36:35 And Hushamº died,ºº and Hadadº the sonº of Bedad,º who smoteººº Midianº in the fieldº of Moab,º reignedºº in his stead:º and the nameº of his cityº [was] Avith.º

 36:36 And Hadad{gr.Adad} died; and Samada of Massecca reigned in his stead.

 36:36 And Hadadº died,ºº and Samlahº of Masrekahºº reignedºº in his stead.º

 36:37 Samada died; and Saul of Rhooboth by the river reigned in his stead.

 36:37 And Samlahº died,ºº and Saulº of Rehobothºº [by] the riverº reignedºº in his stead.º

 36:38 And Saul died; and Ballenon the son of Achobor reigned in his stead.

 36:38 And Saulº died,ºº and Baalhananº the sonº of Achborº reignedºº in his stead.º

 36:39 And Ballenon the son of Achobor died; and Arad the son of Barad reigned in his stead; and the name of his city was Peor{gr.Phogor}; and the name of his wife was Metebeel, daughter of Matraith, son of Maizoob.

 36:39 And Baalhananº the sonº of Achborº died,ºº and Hadarº reignedºº in his stead:º and the nameº of his cityº [was] Pau;º and his wife'sº nameº [was] Mehetabel,º the daughterº of Matred,º the daughterº of Mezahab.º

 36:40 These [are] the names of the chiefs of Esau, in their tribes, according to their place, in their countries, and in their nations; chief Timnath{gr.Thamna}, chief Gola, chief Jether,

 36:40 And theseº [are] the namesº of the dukesº [that came] of Esau,º according to their families,º after their places,º by their names;º dukeº Timnah,º dukeº Alvah,º dukeº Jetheth,º

 36:41 chief Aholibamah{gr.Olibema}, chief Helas, chief Phinon,

 36:41 Dukeº Aholibamah,º dukeº Elah,º dukeº Pinon,º

 36:42 chief Kenaz{gr.Kenez}, chief Teman{gr.Thaeman}, chief Mazar,

 36:42 Dukeº Kenaz,º dukeº Teman,º dukeº Mibzar,º

 36:43 chief Magediel, chief Zaphoin. These are the chiefs of Edom in their dwelling-places in the land of their possession; this is Esau, the father of Edom.

 36:43 Dukeº Magdiel,º dukeº Iram:º theseº [be] the dukesº of Edom,º according to their habitationsº in the landº of their possession:º heº [is] Esauº the fatherº of the Edomites.º
