And it came to pass in the days of Amrafel king of Shinar, Aryokh king of Ellasar, Kedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of nations; |

[That these] madeºº
warº
withº
Bera`
בֶּרַעº
kingº
of
Sæðöm
סְדֹם,º
and withº
Birša`
בִּרשַׁעº
kingº
of
`Ámörà
עֲמֹרָה,º
Šin´äv
שִׁנאָבº
kingº
of
´Aðmà
אַדמָה,º
and
Šem´ëver
שֶׁמאֵבֶרº
kingº
of
Xævôyîm
צְבוֹיִים,º
and the kingº
of
Bela`
בֶּלַע,º
whichº
isº
Xö`ar
צֹעַר.º |

[That these] made war with Bera king of Sedom, and with Birsha king of Amorah, Shinav king of Admah, and Shemever king of Tzevoyim, and the king of Bela, which is Tzoar. |

Allº
theseº
were joined togetherºº
inº
the valeº
of
§iddîm
שִׂדִּים,º
whichº
is the saltº
sea.º |

14:3
All these were joined together in the vale of Siddim, which is the salt sea. |
|
14:4
Twelveºº
yearsº
they servedººº

כְּדָרלָעֹמֶר,º
and in the thirteenthºº
yearº
they rebelled.ºº |

Twelve years they served Kedorlaomer, and in the thirteenth year they rebelled. |

And in the fourteenthºº

cameºº

כְּדָרלָעֹמֶר,º
and the kingsº
thatº
[were] withº
him, and smoteººº
the

רְפָאִיםº
in

עַשׁתְּרֹת
Karnayim
קַרנַיִם,º
and the
Zûzîm
זוּזִיםº
in
Çäm
חָם,º
and the
´Êmîm
אֵימִיםº
in

שָׁוֵה

קִריָתָיִם,º |

And in the fourteenth year came Kedorlaomer, and the kings that [were] with him, and smote the Refaim in Ashteroth Qarnayim, and the Zuzim in Cham, and the Emim in Shaweh Qiryathayim, |

And the

And they returned, and came to En-Mishpat, which [is] Qadesh, and smote all the country of the Amaleqim, and also the Emorim, that dwelt in Chatzetzon-Tamar. |

and they joinedºº
battleº
withº
them in the valeº

And there went out the king of Sedom, and the king of Amorah, and the king of Admah, and the king of Tzevoyim, and the king of Bela (the same [is] Tzoar;) and they joined battle with them in the vale of Siddim; |

And the valeº

[was full of]º
slimepits;ºº
and the kingsº
of
Sæðöm
סְדֹםº
and
`Ámörà
עֲמֹרָהº
fled,ºº
and fellºº
there;º
and they that remainedºº
fledºº
to the mountain.º |

And the vale of Siddim [was full of] slimepits; and the kings of Sedom and Amorah fled, and fell there; and they that remained fled to the mountain. |

14:11
And they tookººº
allº
the goodsº
of
Sæðöm
סְדֹםº
and
`Ámörà
עֲמֹרָה,º
and allº
their victuals,º
and went their way.ººº |

And they took all the goods of Sedom and Amorah, and all their victuals, and went their way. |

And there came one that had escaped, and told Avram the Ivri; for he dwelt in the plain of Mamre the Emori, brother of Eshkol, and brother of Aner: and these [were] confederate with Avram. |

was taken captive,ºº
he armedººº
his trainedº
[servants], bornº
in his own house,º

And when Avram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained [servants], born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued [them] unto Dan. |

them, and pursuedºº
them untoº

And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote them, and pursued them unto Chovah, which [is] on the left hand of Dammaseq. |

from the slaughterººº

כְּדָרלָעֹמֶר,º
and of the kingsº
thatº
[were] withº
him, atº
the valleyº

whichº
[is] the king'sº

14:17 ¶
And the king of Sedom went out to meet him after his return from the slaughter of Kedorlaomer, and of the kings that [were] with him, at the valley of Shaweh, which [is] the king's dale. |

And Malki-Tzedeq king of Shalem brought forth bread and wine: and he [was] the priest of El Elyon. |

And he blessedºº
him, and said,ºº

And he blessed him, and said, Blessed [be] Avram of El Elyon, possessor of heaven and earth: |

hath deliveredºº
thine enemiesº
into thy hand.º
And he gaveºº
him tithesº

And blessed be El Elyon, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all. |

And the king of Sedom said unto Avram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself. |

And Avram said to the king of Sedom, I have lift up mine hand unto Yahweh, El Elyon, the possessor of heaven and earth, |

That I will notº
[take] from a threadºº
even toº
a shoelatchet,ºº
and that I will notº
takeºº
any thingºº
thatº
[is] thine, lestº
thou shouldest say,ºº

have madeºº

That I will not [take] from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that [is] thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Avram rich: |

the young menº

and the portionº
of the menºº
whichº
wentºº
withº
me,

Save only that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men which went with me, Aner, Eshkol, and Mamre; let them take their portion. |
