they [are] in the landº

Then Yosef came and told Paroh, and said, My father and my brethren, and their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have, are come out of the land of Kenaan; and, behold, they [are] in the land of Goshen. |

And he tookºº

of his brethren,º
[even] fiveº
men,ºº
and presentedºº
them untoº

And he took some of his brethren, [even] five men, and presented them unto Paroh. |

his brethren,º
Whatº
[is] your occupation?º
And they saidºº

פַּרעֹה,º
Thy servantsº
[are] shepherds,ººº
bothº
we,º
[and] alsoº
our fathers.º |

And Paroh said unto his brethren, What [is] your occupation? And they said unto Paroh, Thy servants [are] shepherds, both we, [and] also our fathers. |
|

They saidºº
moreover untoº

For to sojournºº
in the landº
are we come;ºº
forºº
thy servantsº
have noº
pastureº
for their flocks;º
forº
the famineº
[is] soreº
in the landº
of

כְּנָעַן:º

therefore, we pray thee,º
let thy servantsº
dwellºº
in the landº
of
Göšen
גֹּשֶׁן.º |

They said moreover unto Paroh, For to sojourn in the land are we come; for thy servants have no pasture for their flocks; for the famine [is] sore in the land of Kenaan: now therefore, we pray thee, let thy servants dwell in the land of Goshen. |

[is] beforeº
thee;º
in the bestº
of the landº
makeººº
thy fatherº
and brethrenº
to dwell;ºº
in the landº
of
Göšen
גֹּשֶׁןº
let them dwell:ºº
and ifº
thou knowestººº
[any] menºº
of activityº
among them, then makeº
themºº
rulersº
over myºº
cattle.º |

The land of Mitzrayim [is] before thee; in the best of the land make thy father and brethren to dwell; in the land of Goshen let them dwell: and if thou knowest [any] men of activity among them, then make them rulers over my cattle. |

And Yosef brought in Yaaqov his father, and set him before Paroh: and Yaaqov blessed Paroh. |

[art] thou? |

And Paroh said unto Yaaqov, How old [art] thou? |

The daysº
of the yearsº
of my pilgrimageº
[are] an hundredº
and thirtyº
years:º
fewº
and evilº
have the daysº
of the yearsº
of my lifeº
been,º
and have notº
attainedºº
untoºº
the daysº
of the yearsº
of the lifeº
of my fathersº
in the daysº
of their pilgrimage.º |

And Yaaqov said unto Paroh, The days of the years of my pilgrimage [are] an hundred and thirty years: few and evil have the days of the years of my life been, and have not attained unto the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the days of their pilgrimage. |
|

And Yaaqov blessed Paroh, and went out from before Paroh. |

them a possessionº

מִצרַיִם,º
in the bestº
of the land,º
in the landº

had commanded.ºº |

47:11 ¶
And Yosef placed his father and his brethren, and gave them a possession in the land of Mitzrayim, in the best of the land, in the land of Rameses, as Paroh had commanded. |

And

nourishedººº
his father,º
and his brethren,º
and allº
his father'sº
household,º
with bread,º
accordingº
toº
[their] families.º |

And Yosef nourished his father, and his brethren, and all his father's household, with bread, according to [their] families. |

And [there was] noº
breadº
in allº
the land;º
forº
the famineº
[was] veryº
sore,º
so that the landº
of
Mixrayim
מִצרַיִםº
and [all] the landº
of
Cænä`an
כְּנָעַןº
faintedºº
by reasonº
ofºº
the famine.º |

47:13 ¶
And [there was] no bread in all the land; for the famine [was] very sore, so that the land of Mitzrayim and [all] the land of Kenaan fainted by reason of the famine. |

the moneyº
that was foundºº
in the landº
of
Mixrayim

and in the landº

for the cornº
whichº

the moneyº
into
Par`ò's

And Yosef gathered up all the money that was found in the land of Mitzrayim, and in the land of Kenaan, for the corn which they bought: and Yosef brought the money into Paroh's house. |

47:15
And when moneyº
failedºº
in the landºº
of
Mixrayim
מִצרַיִם,º
and in the landºº
of
Cænä`an
כְּנָעַן,º
allº
the
Mixrîm
מִצרִיםº
cameºº
untoº

יוֹסֵף,º
and said,ºº
Giveºº
us bread:º
for whyº
should we dieºº
in thy presence?º
forº
the moneyº
faileth.ºº |

And when money failed in the land of Mitzrayim, and in the land of Kenaan, all the Mitzrim came unto Yosef, and said, Give us bread: for why should we die in thy presence? for the money faileth. |

And

your cattle;º
and I will giveºº
you for your cattle,º
ifº
moneyº

And Yosef said, Give your cattle; and I will give you for your cattle, if money fail. |

And they brought their cattle unto Yosef: and Yosef gave them bread [in exchange] for horses, and for the flocks, and for the cattle of the herds, and for the asses: and he fed them with bread for all their cattle for that year. |

him the secondº
year,º
and saidºº
unto him, We will notº
hideºº
[it] fromº
my

אֲדוֹן,º
how thatºº
our moneyº
is spent;ºº

our herdsº
of cattle;º
there is notº
ought leftºº
in the sightº
of my

אֲדוֹן,º

our bodies,º

When that year was ended, they came unto him the second year, and said unto him, We will not hide [it] from my adon, how that our money is spent; my adon also hath our herds of cattle; there is not ought left in the sight of my adon, but our bodies, and our lands: |

Whereforeº
shall we dieºº
before thine eyes,º
bothº
weº
andº
our land?º
buyºº
us and our landº
for bread,º
and weº
and our landº
will beº
servantsº
unto
Par`ò
פַּרעֹה:º
and giveºº
[us] seed,º
that we may live,ºº
and notº
die,ºº
that the landº
be not desolate.ººº |

Wherefore shall we die before thine eyes, both we and our land? buy us and our land for bread, and we and our land will be servants unto Paroh: and give [us] seed, that we may live, and not die, that the land be not desolate. |

And Yosef bought all the land of Mitzrayim for Paroh; for the Mitzrim sold every man his field, because the famine prevailed over them: so the land became Paroh's. |

And as for the people,º
he removedºº
them to citiesº
from [one] endºº
of the bordersº
of
Mixrayim
מִצרַיִםº
even toº
the [other] endº
thereof. |

47:21
And as for the people, he removed them to cities from [one] end of the borders of Mitzrayim even to the [other] end thereof. |

Onlyº
the landº
of the priestsº
boughtº
heºº
not;º
forº
the priestsº
had a portionº
[assigned them] ofºº
Par`ò
פַּרעֹה,º
and did eatººº
their portionº
whichº
Par`ò
פַּרעֹהº
gaveºº
them: whereforeºº
they soldºº
notºº
their lands.º |

Only the land of the priests bought he not; for the priests had a portion [assigned them] of Paroh, and did eat their portion which Paroh gave them: wherefore they sold not their lands. |

47:23

the people,º
Behold,º
I have boughtººº
you this dayº
and your landº
for
Par`ò
פַּרעֹה:º
lo,º
[here is] seedº
for you, and ye shall sowººº
the land.º |

Then Yosef said unto the people, Behold, I have bought you this day and your land for Paroh: lo, [here is] seed for you, and ye shall sow the land. |

47:24
And it shall come to passº
in the increase,º
that ye shall giveºº
the fifthº
[part] unto
Par`ò
פַּרעֹה,º
and fourº
partsº
shall beº
your own, for seedº
of the field,º
and for your food,º
and for themº
of your households,º
and for foodºº
for your little ones.º |

47:24
And it shall come to pass in the increase, that ye shall give the fifth [part] unto Paroh, and four parts shall be your own, for seed of the field, and for your food, and for them of your households, and for food for your little ones. |

47:25
And they said,ºº
Thou hast saved our lives:ºº
let us findºº
graceº
in the sightº
of my
´áðôn
אֲדוֹן,º
and we will beº
Par`ò's
פַּרעֹהº
servants.º |

47:25
And they said, Thou hast saved our lives: let us find grace in the sight of my adon, and we will be Paroh's servants. |

And Yosef made it a law over the land of Mitzrayim unto this day, [that] Paroh should have the fifth [part]; except the land of the priests only, [which] became not Paroh's. |

in the countryº

and they had possessionsºº
therein, and grew,ºº

And Yisrael dwelt in the land of Mitzrayim, in the country of Goshen; and they had possessions therein, and grew, and multiplied exceedingly. |

And Yaaqov lived in the land of Mitzrayim seventeen years: so the whole age of Yaaqov was an hundred forty and seven years. |

And the timeº

And the time drew nigh that Yisrael must die: and he called his son Yosef, and said unto him, If now I have found grace in thy sight, put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh, and deal kindly and truly with me; bury me not, I pray thee, in Mitzrayim: |

But I will lieºº

my fathers,º
and thou shalt carryºº
me out of
Mixrayim
מִצרַיִם,ºº
and buryºº
me in their buryingplace.º
And he said,ºº
Iº
will doºº
as thou hast said.º |

But I will lie with my fathers, and thou shalt carry me out of Mitzrayim, and bury me in their buryingplace. And he said, I will do as thou hast said. |

And he said, Swear unto me. And he sware unto him. And Yisrael bowed himself upon the bed's head. |
