And Yitzchaq called Yaaqov, and blessed him, and charged him, and said unto him, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Kenaan. |

Paddan ´Áräm
פַּדַּן־אֲרָם,°
to the house°
of
Bæŧû´ël
בְּתוּאֵל°
thy mother's°
father;°
and take°°
thee a wife°
from thence°°
of the daughters°°

Lävän
לָבָן°
thy mother's°
brother.° |

Arise, go to Paddan-Aram, to the house of Bethuel thy mother's father; and take thee a wife from thence of the daughters of Lavan thy mother's brother. |

And

thee, and make thee fruitful,°°
and multiply°°
thee, that thou mayest be°
a multitude°
of people;° |

the blessing°

to thee, and to thy seed°

the land°
wherein thou art a stranger,°

´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°

unto
´Avrähäm
אַברָהָם.° |

And give thee the blessing of Avraham, to thee, and to thy seed with thee; that thou mayest inherit the land wherein thou art a stranger, which Elohim gave unto Avraham. |

And Yitzchaq sent away Yaaqov: and he went to Paddan-Aram unto Lavan, son of Bethuel the Arammi, the brother of Rivqah, Yaaqov's and Esaw's mother. |

of the daughters°°

When Esaw saw that Yitzchaq had blessed Yaaqov, and sent him away to Paddan-Aram, to take him a wife from thence; and that as he blessed him he gave him a charge, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Kenaan; |

And Esaw seeing that the daughters of Kenaan pleased not Yitzchaq his father; |

the wives°
which he had°

the daughter°

אַברָהָם°
son,°
the sister°
of
Næväyöŧ
נְבָיֹת,°
to be his wife.° |

Then went Esaw unto Yishmael, and took unto the wives which he had Machalath the daughter of Yishmael Avraham's son, the sister of Nevayoth, to be his wife. |

28:10 ¶
And

from
Bæ´ër Ševa`
בְּאֵר־שֶׁבַע,°°
and went°°°
toward
Çärän
חָרָן.° |

28:10 ¶
And Yaaqov went out from Beer-Sheva, and went toward Charan. |

And he lighted°°
upon a certain place,°
and tarried there all night,°°°
because°
the sun°
was set;°°
and he took°°
of the stones°°
of that place,°
and put°°
[them for] his pillows,°
and lay down°°
in that°
place°
to sleep.°° |

And he dreamed,°°
and behold°
a ladder°
set up°°
on the earth,°
and the top°
of it°
reached°°
to heaven:°
and behold°
the angels°
of
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
ascending°°
and descending°°
on it. |

And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of Elohim ascending and descending on it. |

And, behold,°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
stood°°
above°
it, and said,°°

[am]
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
of
´Avrähäm
אַברָהָם°
thy father,°
and the
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
of
Yixçäk
יִצחָק:°
the land°
whereon°°
thou°
liest,°°
to thee will I give°
it,°°
and to thy seed;° |

And, behold, Yahweh stood above it, and said, I [am] Yahweh Elohim of Avraham thy father, and the Elohim of Yitzchaq: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed; |

And thy seed°
shall be°
as the dust°
of the earth,°
and thou shalt spread abroad°°
to the west,°
and to the east,°
and to the north,°
and to the south:°
and in thee and in thy seed°
shall all°
the families°
of the earth°
be blessed.°° |

thee, and will keep°°

[places] whither°
thou goest,°°°
and will bring thee again°°

this°
land;°
for°
I will not°

thee, until°°°
I have done°°°
[that] which°
I have spoken°°
to thee of. |

And, behold, I [am] with thee, and will keep thee in all [places] whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done [that] which I have spoken to thee of. |

And

out of his sleep,°°
and he said,°°
Surely°
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
is°
in this°
place;°
and I°
knew°°
[it] not.° |

28:16 ¶
And Yaaqov awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely Yahweh is in this place; and I knew [it] not. |
|
28:17
And he was afraid,°°
and said,°°
How°
dreadful°°
[is] this°
place!°
this°
[is] none°
other but°°
the house°
of
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים,°
and this°
[is] the gate°
of heaven.° |

28:17
And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful [is] this place! this [is] none other but the house of Elohim, and this [is] the gate of heaven. |
|
28:18
And
Ya`áköv
יַעֲקֹב°
rose up early°°
in the morning,°
and took°°°
the stone°
that°
he had put°°
[for] his pillows,°
and set it up°°°
[for] a pillar,°
and poured°°
oil°
upon°
the top°
of it.° |

And Yaaqov rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put [for] his pillows, and set it up [for] a pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it. |

And he called°°°
the name°
of that°
place°
Bêŧ ´Ël
בֵּית־אֵל:°
but°
the name°
of that city°
[was called]
Lûz
לוּז°
at the first.° |

And he called the name of that place Beth-El: but the name of that city [was called] Luz at the first. |

28:20
And
Ya`áköv
יַעֲקֹב°
vowed°°
a vow,°
saying,°°
If°
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
will be°
with°
me, and will keep°
me°°
in this°
way°
that°
I°
go,°°
and will give°°
me bread°
to eat,°°
and raiment°
to put on,°° |

And Yaaqov vowed a vow, saying, If Elohim will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on, |

So that I come again°°
to°
my father's°
house°
in peace;°
then shall
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
be°
my
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים:° |

28:21
So that I come again to my father's house in peace; then shall Yahweh be my Elohim: |

28:22
And this°
stone,°
which°
I have set°°
[for] a pillar,°
shall be°
´Élöhîm's
אֱלֹהִים°
house:°
and of all°
that°
thou shalt give°°
me I will surely°°
give the tenth°°
unto thee. |
|
28:22
And this stone, which I have set [for] a pillar, shall be Elohim's house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee. |
