And Yahweh visited Sarah as he had said, and Yahweh did unto Sarah as he had spoken. |

conceived,°°
and bare°°

אַברָהָם°
a son°
in his old age,°
at the set time°
of which°
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
had spoken°°
to him. |

For Sarah conceived, and bare Avraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which Elohim had spoken to him. |

And

אַברָהָם°

the name°
of his son°
that was born°°
unto him, whom°
Ŝärà
שָׂרָה°
bare°°
to him,
Yixçäk
יִצחָק.° |

And Avraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Yitzchaq. |

And

circumcised°°
his son°
Yixçäk
יִצחָק°
being eight°
days°
old,°
as°
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
had commanded°°
him. |

And Avraham circumcised his son Yitzchaq being eight days old, as Elohim had commanded him. |

And

was an hundred°
years°
old,°
when°
his son°
Yixçäk
יִצחָק°
was born°°
unto him. |

21:5
And Avraham was an hundred years old, when his son Yitzchaq was born unto him. |

And
Ŝärà
שָׂרָה°
said,°°
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
hath made°°
me to laugh,°
[so that] all°
that hear°°
will laugh°°
with me. |

21:6 ¶
And Sarah said, Elohim hath made me to laugh, [so that] all that hear will laugh with me. |

21:7
And she said,°°
Who°
would have said°°
unto
´Avrähäm
אַברָהָם,°
that
Ŝärà
שָׂרָה°
should have given children°
suck?°°°
for°
I have born°°
[him] a son°
in his old age.° |

21:7
And she said, Who would have said unto Avraham, that Sarah should have given children suck? for I have born [him] a son in his old age. |
|
21:8
And the child°
grew,°°
and was weaned:°°
and
´Avrähäm
אַברָהָם°
made°°
a great°
feast°
the [same] day°
that°
Yixçäk
יִצחָק°
was weaned.°° |

And the child grew, and was weaned: and Avraham made a great feast the [same] day that Yitzchaq was weaned. |

21:9 ¶
And
Ŝärà
שָׂרָה°
saw°°°
the son°
of
Häqär
הָגָר°
the
Mixrî
מִצרִי,°
which°
she had born°°
unto
´Avrähäm
אַברָהָם,°
mocking.°° |

21:9 ¶
And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Mitzri, which she had born unto Avraham, mocking. |
|
21:10
Wherefore she said°°
unto
´Avrähäm
אַברָהָם,°
Cast out°°
this°
bondwoman°
and her son:°
for°
the son°
of this°
bondwoman°
shall not°
be heir°°
with°
my son,°
[even] with°
Yixçäk
יִצחָק.° |

Wherefore she said unto Avraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, [even] with Yitzchaq. |

And the thing°
was very°
grievous°°°°
in
´Avrähäm's
אַברָהָם°
sight°
because°°
of his son.° |

And the thing was very grievous in Avraham's sight because of his son. |

21:12 ¶
And

unto°
´Avrähäm
אַברָהָם,°
Let it not°
be grievous°°°
in thy sight°
because of°
the lad,°
and because of°
thy bondwoman;°
in all°
that°
Ŝärà
שָׂרָה°
hath said°°
unto°
thee, hearken°°
unto her voice;°
for°
in
Yixçäk
יִצחָק°
shall thy seed°
be called.°° |

21:12 ¶
And Elohim said unto Avraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Yitzchaq shall thy seed be called. |

And also°°
of the son°
of the bondwoman°
will I make°°
a nation,°
because°
he°
[is] thy seed.° |

And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he [is] thy seed. |

rose up early°°
in the morning,°
and took°°
bread,°
and a bottle°
of water,°
and gave°°
[it] unto°

הָגָר,°
putting°°
[it] on°
her shoulder,°
and the child,°
and sent her away:°°
and she departed,°°°
and wandered°°
in the wilderness°
of
Bæ´ër Ševa`
בְּאֵר־שֶׁבַע.° |

And Avraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave [it] unto Hagar, putting [it] on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beer-Sheva. |

21:15
And the water°
was spent°°
in°
the bottle,°
and she cast°°°
the child°
under°
one°
of the shrubs.° |

21:15
And the water was spent in the bottle, and she cast the child under one of the shrubs. |
|
21:16
And she went,°°°
and sat her down°°
over against°°
[him] a good way off,°°
as it were a bowshot:°°°
for°
she said,°°
Let me not°
see°°
the death°
of the child.°
And she sat°°
over against°°
[him], and lift up°°°
her voice,°
and wept.°° |

of the lad°

And Elohim heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of Elohim called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for Elohim hath heard the voice of the lad where he [is]. |

Arise,°°
lift up°°°
the lad,°
and hold°°
him in°
thine hand;°
for°
I will make°°
him a great°
nation.° |

Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine hand; for I will make him a great nation. |

a well°
of water;°

the bottle°
with water,°

the lad°

And Elohim opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink. |

the lad;°
and he grew,°°
and dwelt°°
in the wilderness,°

an archer.°°° |

And Elohim was with the lad; and he grew, and dwelt in the wilderness, and became an archer. |

and his mother°

him a wife°
out of the land°°

And he dwelt in the wilderness of Paran: and his mother took him a wife out of the land of Mitzrayim. |

And it came to pass°
at that°

the chief captain°
of his host°
spake°°
unto°
´Avrähäm
אַברָהָם,°
saying,°°
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
[is] with°
thee in all°
that°
thou°
doest:°° |

21:22 ¶
And it came to pass at that time, that Avimelekh and Pikhol the chief captain of his host spake unto Avraham, saying, Elohim [is] with thee in all that thou doest: |

Now°
therefore swear°°
unto me here°
by
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים°
that thou wilt not deal falsely°°
with me, nor with my son,°
nor with my son's son:°
[but] according to the kindness°
that°
I have done°°
unto°
thee, thou shalt do°°
unto°
me, and to°
the land°
wherein°
thou hast sojourned.°° |

Now therefore swear unto me here by Elohim that thou wilt not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son's son: [but] according to the kindness that I have done unto thee, thou shalt do unto me, and to the land wherein thou hast sojourned. |

21:24
And

will swear.°° |

21:24
And Avraham said, I will swear. |

21:25
And
´Avrähäm
אַברָהָם°
reproved°°°
´Ávîmeleȼ
אֲבִימֶלֶך°

a well°
of water,°
which°
´Ávîmeleȼ's
אֲבִימֶלֶך°
servants°
had violently taken away.°° |

And Avraham reproved Avimelekh because of a well of water, which Avimelekh's servants had violently taken away. |

21:26
And
´Ávîmeleȼ
אֲבִימֶלֶך°
said,°°
I wot°°
not°
who°
hath done°°°
this°
thing:°
neither°
didst thou°
tell°°
me, neither°
yet°
heard°°
I°
[of it], but°
to day.° |

And Avimelekh said, I wot not who hath done this thing: neither didst thou tell me, neither yet heard I [of it], but to day. |

21:27
And

sheep°
and oxen,°
and gave°°
them unto
´Ávîmeleȼ
אֲבִימֶלֶך;°
and both°
of them°
made°°
a covenant.° |

And Avraham took sheep and oxen, and gave them unto Avimelekh; and both of them made a covenant. |

21:28
And
´Avrähäm
אַברָהָם°

seven°
ewe lambs°
of the flock°
by themselves.° |

21:28
And Avraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock by themselves. |
|
21:29
And
´Ávîmeleȼ
אֲבִימֶלֶך°

unto°
´Avrähäm
אַברָהָם,°
What°°
[mean] these°
seven°
ewe lambs°
which°
thou hast set°°
by themselves?° |

And Avimelekh said unto Avraham, What [mean] these seven ewe lambs which thou hast set by themselves? |
|
21:30
And he said,°°
For°
[these]°
seven°
ewe lambs°
shalt thou take°°
of my hand,°°
that°
they may be°
a witness°
unto me, that°
I have digged°°°
this°
well.° |

And he said, For [these] seven ewe lambs shalt thou take of my hand, that they may be a witness unto me, that I have digged this well. |
|
21:31
Wherefore°°
he called°°
that°
place°
Bæ´ër Ševa`
בְּאֵר־שֶׁבַע;°
because°
there°
they sware°°
both°
of them.° |

21:31
Wherefore he called that place Beer-Sheva; because there they sware both of them. |
|
21:32
Thus they made°°
a covenant°
at
Bæ´ër Ševa`
בְּאֵר־שֶׁבַע:°
then
´Ávîmeleȼ
אֲבִימֶלֶך°
rose up,°°
and
Pîȼöl
פִּיכֹל°
the chief captain°
of his host,°
and they returned°°
into°
the land°
of the
Pælištîm
פְּלִשׁתִּים.° |

Thus they made a covenant at Beer-Sheva: then Avimelekh rose up, and Pikhol the chief captain of his host, and they returned into the land of the Pelishtim. |
|
21:33 ¶
And
[´Avrähäm
אַברָהָם] planted°°
a grove°
in
Bæ´ër Ševa`
בְּאֵר־שֶׁבַע,°
and called°°
there°
on the name°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,°
the everlasting°
´Ël
אֵל.° |

21:33 ¶
And [Avraham] planted a grove in Beer-Sheva, and called there on the name of Yahweh, the everlasting El. |
|
21:34
And
´Avrähäm
אַברָהָם°
sojourned°°
in the
Pælištîm's
פְּלִשׁתִּים°
land°
many°
days.° |

21:34
And Avraham sojourned in the Pelishtim's land many days. |
