 106:1 ¶
[[Hallelujah{gr.Alleluia}.]] Give thanks to the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy [endures] for ever. |
|
 106:1 ¶
Praiseºº
ye Yah.º
O give thanksºº
unto Yahweh;º
forº
[he is] good:º
forº
his mercyº
[endureth] for ever.º |
 106:2
Who shall tell the mighty acts of the Lord? [who] shall cause all his praises to be heard? |
|
 106:2
Whoº
can utterºº
the mighty actsº
of Yahweh?º
[who] can shew forthºº
allº
his praise?º |
 106:3
Blessed are they that keep judgment, and do righteousness at all times. |
|
 106:3
Blessedº
[are] they that keepºº
judgment,º
[and] he that doethºº
righteousnessº
at allº
times.º |
 106:4
Remember us, O Lord, with the favour [thou hast] to thy people: visit us with thy salvation; |
|
 106:4
Rememberºº
me, O Yahweh,º
with the favourº
[that thou bearest unto] thy people:º
O visitºº
me with thy salvation;º |
 106:5
that we may behold the good of thine elect, that we may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that we may glory with thine inheritance. |
|
 106:5
That I may seeºº
the goodº
of thy chosen,º
that I may rejoiceºº
in the gladnessº
of thy nation,º
that I may gloryºº
withº
thine inheritance.º |
 106:6
We have sinned with our fathers, we have transgressed, we have done unrighteously. |
|
 106:6
We have sinnedºº
withº
our fathers,º
we have committed iniquity,ºº
we have done wickedly.ºº |
 106:7
Our fathers in Mizraim{gr.Egypt} understood not thy wonders, and remembered not the multitude of thy mercy; but provoked [him] as they went up by the Red Sea. |
|
 106:7
Our fathersº
understoodºº
notº
thy wondersºº
in Egypt;º
they rememberedºº
notºº
the multitudeº
of thy mercies;º
but provokedºº
[him] atº
the sea,º
[even] at the Redº
sea.º |
 106:8
Yet he saved them for his name's sake, that he might cause his mighty power to be known. |
|
 106:8
Nevertheless he savedºº
them for his name'sº
sake,ºº
that he might makeº
his mighty powerº
to be known.ºº |
 106:9
And he rebuked the Red Sea, and it was dried up: so he led them through the deep as through the wilderness. |
|
 106:9
He rebukedºº
the Redº
seaº
also, and it was dried up:ºº
so he ledººº
them through the depths,º
as through the wilderness.º |
 106:10
And he saved them out of the hand of them that hated [them], and redeemed them out of the hand of the enemy. |
|
 106:10
And he savedºº
them from the handºº
of him that hatedºº
[them], and redeemedºº
them from the handºº
of the enemy.ºº |
 106:11
The water covered those that oppressed them: there was not one of them left. |
|
 106:11
And the watersº
coveredºº
their enemies:º
there was notº
oneº
ofº
them left.ºº |
 106:12
Then they believed his words, and celebrated his praise. |
|
 106:12
Then believedºº
they his words;º
they sangºº
his praise.º |
 106:13
They made haste, they forgot his works; they waited not for his counsel. |
|
 106:13
They soonºº
forgatºº
his works;º
they waitedºº
notº
for his counsel:º |
 106:14
And they lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the dry [land]. |
|
 106:14
But lustedºº
exceedinglyºº
in the wilderness,º
and temptedºº
Elº
in the desert.º |
 106:15
And he gave them their request, and sent fullness into their souls. |
|
 106:15
And he gaveºº
them their request;º
but sentºº
leannessº
into their soul.º |
 106:16
They provoked Mosheh{gr.Moses} also in the camp, and Aaron the holy one of the Lord. |
|
 106:16
They enviedºº
Mosesº
also in the camp,º
[and] Aaronº
the saintº
of Yahweh.º |
 106:17
The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and closed upon the congregation of Abiram{gr.Abiron}. |
|
 106:17
The earthº
openedºº
and swallowed upºº
Dathan,º
and coveredººº
the companyº
of Abiram.º |
 106:18
And a fire was kindled in their congregation, and a flame burnt up the sinners. |
|
 106:18
And a fireº
was kindledºº
in their company;º
the flameº
burned upºº
the wicked.º |
 106:19
And they made a calf in Horeb{gr.Choreb}, and worshipped the graven image, |
|
 106:19
They madeºº
a calfº
in Horeb,º
and worshippedºº
the molten image.º |
 106:20
and they changed their glory into the similitude of a calf that feeds on grass. |
|
 106:20
Thus they changedººº
their gloryº
into the similitudeº
of an oxº
that eatethºº
grass.º |
 106:21
They forgot God that saved them, who had wrought great deeds in Mizraim{gr.Egypt}; |
|
 106:21
They forgatºº
Elº
their saviour,ºº
which had doneºº
great thingsº
in Egypt;º |
 106:22
wondrous [works] in the land of Ham{gr.Cham}, and terrible things at the Red Sea. |
|
 106:22
Wondrous worksºº
in the landº
of Ham,º
[and] terrible thingsºº
byº
the Redº
sea.º |
 106:23
So he said that he would have destroyed them, had not Mosheh{gr.Moses} his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn [him] away from the fierceness of his anger, so that he should not destroy them. |
|
 106:23
Therefore he saidºº
that he would destroyºº
them, had notº
Mosesº
his chosenº
stoodºº
beforeº
him in the breach,º
to turn awayºº
his wrath,º
lest he should destroyººº
[them]. |
 106:24
Moreover they set at nought the desirable land, and believed not his word. |
|
 106:24
Yea, they despisedºº
the pleasantº
land,º
they believedºº
notº
his word:º |
 106:25
And they murmured in their tents: they hearkened not to the voice of the Lord. |
|
 106:25
But murmuredºº
in their tents,º
[and] hearkenedºº
notº
unto the voiceº
of Yahweh.º |
 106:26
So he lifted up his hand against them, to cast them down in the wilderness; |
|
 106:26
Therefore he lifted upºº
his handº
against them, to overthrowºº
them in the wilderness:º |
 106:27
and to cast down their seed among the nations, and to scatter them in the countries. |
|
 106:27
To overthrowºº
their seedº
also among the nations,º
and to scatterºº
them in the lands.º |
 106:28
They were joined also to Beelphegor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead. And they provoked him with their devices; |
|
 106:28
They joinedºº
themselvesº
also unto Baalpeor,º
and ateºº
the sacrificesº
of the dead.ºº |
 106:29
and destruction, was multiplied among them. |
|
 106:29
Thus they provoked [him] to angerºº
with their inventions:º
and the plagueº
brake inºº
upon them. |
 106:30
Then Phinehas{gr.Phinees} stood up, and made atonement: and the plague ceased. |
|
 106:30
Then stood upºº
Phinehas,º
and executed judgment:ºº
and [so] the plagueº
was stayed.ºº |
 106:31
And it was counted to him for righteousness, to all generations for ever. |
|
 106:31
And that was countedºº
unto him for righteousnessº
unto allº
generationsº
forº
evermore.ºº |
 106:32
They provoked him also at the water of Strife, and Mosheh{gr.Moses} was hurt for their sakes; |
|
 106:32
They angeredºº
[him] also atº
the watersº
of strife,ººº
so that it went illºº
with Mosesº
for their sakes:º |
 106:33
for they provoked his spirit, and he spoke [unadvisedly] with his lips. |
|
 106:33
Becauseº
they provokedººº
his spirit,º
so that he spake unadvisedlyºº
with his lips.º |
 106:34
They destroyed not the nations which the Lord told them [to destroy]; |
|
 106:34
They did notº
destroyººº
the nations,º
concerning whomº
Yahwehº
commandedºº
them: |
 106:35
but were mingled with the heathen, and learned their works. |
|
 106:35
But were mingledºº
among the heathen,º
and learnedºº
their works.º |
 106:36
And they served their graven images; and it became an offence to them. |
|
 106:36
And they servedººº
their idols:º
which wereº
a snareº
unto them. |
 106:37
And they sacrificed their sons and their daughters to devils, |
|
 106:37
Yea, they sacrificedººº
their sonsº
and their daughtersº
unto devils,º |
 106:38
and shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan{gr.Chanaan}; and the land was defiled with blood. |
|
 106:38
And shedºº
innocentº
blood,º
[even] the bloodº
of their sonsº
and of their daughters,º
whomº
they sacrificedºº
unto the idolsº
of Canaan:º
and the landº
was pollutedºº
with blood.º |
 106:39
And was polluted with their works; and they went a whoring with their own devices. |
|
 106:39
Thus were they defiledºº
with their own works,º
and went a whoringºº
with their own inventions.º |
 106:40
So the Lord was very angry with his people, and he abhorred his inheritance. |
|
 106:40
Therefore was the wrathº
of Yahwehº
kindledºº
against his people,º
insomuch that he abhorredººº
his own inheritance.º |
 106:41
And he delivered them into the hands of [their] enemies; and they that hated them ruled over them. |
|
 106:41
And he gaveºº
them into the handº
of the heathen;º
and they that hatedºº
them ruledºº
over them. |
 106:42
Ands their enemies oppressed them, and they were brought down under their hands. |
|
 106:42
Their enemiesºº
also oppressedºº
them, and they were brought into subjectionºº
underº
their hand.º |
 106:43
Many a time he delivered them; but they provoked him by their counsel, and they were brought low by their iniquities. |
|
 106:43
Manyº
timesº
did he deliverºº
them; but theyº
provokedºº
[him] with their counsel,º
and were brought lowºº
for their iniquity.º |
 106:44
Ye the Lord looked upon their affliction, when he heard their petition. |
|
 106:44
Nevertheless he regardedºº
their affliction,º
when he heardººº
their cry:º |
 106:45
And he remembered his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercy. |
|
 106:45
And he rememberedºº
for them his covenant,º
and repentedºº
according to the multitudeº
of his mercies.º |
 106:46
And he caused them to be pitied in the sight of all who carried them captive. |
|
 106:46
He madeºº
them also to be pitiedº
ofº
allº
those that carried them captives.ºº |
 106:47
Save us, O Lord our God, and gather us from among the heathen, that we may give thanks to thy holy name, that we may glory in thy praise. |
|
 106:47
Saveºº
us, O Yahwehº
our Elohim,º
and gatherºº
us from amongº
the heathen,º
to give thanksºº
unto thy holyº
name,º
[and] to triumphºº
in thy praise.º |
 106:48
Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting and to everlasting; and all the people shall say, Amen, Amen. |
|
 106:48
Blessedºº
[be] Yahwehº
Elohimº
of Israelº
fromº
everlastingº
toº
everlasting:º
and let allº
the peopleº
say,ºº
Amen.º
Praiseºº
ye Yah.º |
